Whoever is to blame regarding the pitch, the match was called off rightly or wrongly by the ref who is an EFL official so I can’t see how they can fine the club. -

I hope Steve Patrick’s laughing his head off. From one of the best playing surfaces in the Premier League to a pudding’ of a pitch. You get out what you put in but of course nothing major has been done for years. -

Spot on. It always anoyed me that a bloke from Clitheroe lifted the cup in 1960. To be fair I wrote Bill a letter some years ago and he sent me a gracious reply. A lovely man. -

Other than Duggie who was born on the doorstep, there are three England players in that team who were born within 15 miles of Ewood Park. Who are they? -

Where will we finish?
Ianrally replied to Nuttall is lost's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That’s it in a nutshell. We keep having to look at everybody else’s results which is not promotion material. 8th place for us come May. How I hope I’m totally wrong. -

That’s exactly as I also remember it. I was only 8 and was taken by my dad. All my mums family were Glaswegians and we stayed at my Gran’s in Ibrox. It was pretty daunting for an 8 year old in a crowd just shy of 128,000. -

His youngest son Anastasios was born in Blackburn, but never played for Rovers which I think is what the thread started as asking Baz. -
The Final Countdown
Ianrally replied to Nuttall is lost's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Given the fact that some clubs play the music by local artists, like Newcastle with Local Hero, Liverpool with You’ll never walk alone, and Everton with the theme from Z Cars, it’s a wonder we don’t play Juliet. -
Favourite Stanchions and Nets
Ianrally replied to Nuttall is lost's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The old stanchions, the ball could hit it and be back out so fast you would think it was never a goal. As an aside, why do commentators still say “It’s hit the woodwork” when goal posts and bat are made of aluminium? -

What an important result that was when you consider Charlton finished 1 point behind us in third place and missing promotion. It was the final match of the season. Our final home game of the season was a 4-1 win against Leyton Orient, we were without Duggie as he was helping England to beat Scotland at Hampden the same day, scoring Englands first goal in a 0-4 win. -

As a matter of interest how many local companies were contacted regarding shirt sponsorship and how much is it worth to Rovers. Does anybody on here know?

Another masterpiece by the renowned Scottish architect Archibald Leitch -
As a smoker from the age of 16 to 70 I have total sympathy with all who try to stop. It is definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I tried patches, gum, mist spray, none worked for me, but never vaping, only because I’d seen too many quit cigs but get fixed onto vaping permanently. That was a personal choice and vaping is one method recommended by the NHS as an aid to stop smoking. I don’t think any method is 100% guaranteed to work, and are they all safe? That’s the $6400 question. I stopped using an NHS recommended product called Champix. It worked and I’ve been a smoke free zone for two years, but Champix has since been removed from the list because it has been found that it may cause cancer in certain people. A double edged sword then.
