  1. I totally agree with all of that Den. I am one who always relish Test cricket above all other forms, and the various limited over formats have undoubtedly affected England test cricket. Consider this though, Australia have the Big Bash and India the IPL. I don’t see a detrimental effect on either of those countries test performances.
  2. Can only follow that with…. Robert Zimmerman Like a Rolling Stone
  3. Most Americans that I’ve come across think I’m an Australian. My reply is to ask them if they are from Vancouver or Toronto.
  4. The Lovin’ Spoonful. Summer in the City
  5. Remind me, what’s the title of this forum? Oh yes “Football Topics”. Just saying
  6. “Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and making yourself available to receive a pass. It’s a terribly simple game” ”A football team is like a piano. You need eight men to carry it and three who can play the damn thing” William Shankly OBE Please can someone translate these quotes into modern football jargon so that the intelligent among us can understand what is being said.
  7. Just heard a new one while watching Manchester v Leeds. “Foden is a master at putting the ball at risk” This from the female co- commentator whoever she may be. WTF does that mean. Should I be ringing The Royal Society for the Protection of Balls?
  8. This game matters very much in my opinion. The time of year where an away win against a top two team would give our lot so much confidence to push on in the New Year. On the other hand look what happened when we last played a top two team, another 7 goal drubbing would be a real killer. A game where there is nothing to lose? I think not.
  9. I thought, like me, you went back to Harry Leyland TS
  10. What!!!! not one member of the Coventrio attending. Looks like a great night and hope all goes well with the money raising and congrats to all involved with the organisation.,
  11. Steady on Gavlar I have to live here. It’s going to be wonderful now mind. Given Nob End results against the top teams, our result today must send out a statement to the likes of WBA etc.
  12. In the sport in which I competed throughout the World, I can only say that when competing in Qatar, Dubai, Jordan, Lebanon, or Oman, there was always evidence of cheating. I can’t speak of Saudi Arabia as I never went there. Nevertheless I have some great friends from those same countries. That is in no way racist as you tried to infer but fact. I hope that is clarification enough for you.
  13. Place your bets for Miles Anderson signing for Hibs.
  14. I have been to most Middle Eastern countries within a different sport. I can honestly say that none of them can compete or organise any sporting event without cheating. It’s in their DNA. Can’t wait for one of ‘em to be crowned the first Arab country to win the World Cup.
  15. Read this today. Despicable country. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-59288177
  16. That made me laugh rigger, then I realised you are so right. How sad is that?
  17. I would urge you all to do the following: 1. Send a letter to the chairman of Rangers, whoever that may be, and suggest the rat should be installed as Gerrard’s successor. 2. Phone in to Talksport next time Alan Brazil, All McCoist or Jim White are on and suggest the same, as well as pointing out that Talksport is a British radio station, so when Scotland gets independence then they will be fired off because the will cease to be British. I know I’m dreaming but I feel better now.
  18. Turning the clock forward the the present incumbent manager. We win away in the first leg 2-1. So for the return leg at Ewood what would Mogadon’s team talk be????? One thing I can be sure of, it wouldn’t be a win by the margin of 4-2. We would be parking the bus for 90 mins. What a great team that Souness team was.
  19. Did Mogadon here of Warnocks departure from Boro and thought I might have to show a false dawn here?
  20. They haven’t got any money to buy pies
  21. Oh how I hope you are right Gav. Sadly I think you are much younger than me and you may live to see it. I on the other hand may not.
  22. I’d love to get Jeff Stelling’s view on the time he spent at Hartlepool.
  23. Mick McCarthy is the right fit. Born there and played there.
  24. I am watching this game and have to pinch myself that the punditry is actually relating to the sport I thought I knew. Obviously after 62 years I know nowt.
