Protect Jack Walker’s Legacy

I have signed. A really well constructed letter that asks some extremely pertinent questions. Might I suggest that it be printed in the LET, so that a reply might be more forthcoming? It might also show if the LET are running with the hare or riding with the hounds. -

When I posted the pic I could not name the player between Eamon and Denis Law either. I don’t think that’s Derek Temple though. Having said that, at first glance I thought Denis Law was Tommy Gemmell. -

This must be the all star eleven who played in Ronnie Clayton’s testimonial. It was a testament to Ronnie when you see who came to honour the great man. -
Dougan and the 1960 Cup Final ....

Well I went to Bills testimonial with a view to seeing Matthews playing. He obviously didn’t play and it came out that he had wanted a fee. I disliked the greedy bar steward from that day onward. Mind you he would fit in well with many of today’s mercenaries. -
Dougan and the 1960 Cup Final ....

There was also the ticket fiasco as well. Two of my uncles never went to Ewood again after that final because of certain players lining their pockets from ticket sales when so many fans were not able to get a ticket. I was only ten at the time and was totally gutted not to be able to get a ticket. The following year my dad promised that he would get me to the final and we easily got tickets. In a way I have to say that it was a privilege to witness the Spurs double winning team. It was even more special when we beat them 7-2 at Ewood. A truly great side nonetheless. -

If Moyes was offered the Celtic job I’m sure he would jump at it, as well as his current assistant Alan Irvine., Moyes an ex Celtic player, albeit only 24 appearances, but he will fully understand the Glesga vibe that matters as will Irvine. Both born in Glasgow it would be a total homecoming. -

Does your mum do the lottery TS? It seems she has a certain skill at predictions! Talking about bad results for England, who did she predict in the England-Scotland game in 1967? That was a real highlight.

I can't disagree with you on that score, but I also cannot forget how we fans were vilified by Moyes because of voicing our displeasure with K***n. -

Well done to Callum, but I bet the Nobbers will be in for him before anyone at Ewood woke up to the fact. -

Just look how classy that shirt is, even the cuffs are reversed to the sleeves, and why are long sleeved shirts not made these days ? The thing that gets my goat now is the sight of some soft arse wearing a short sleeve shirt with bloody gloves!!! -

Thanks to Gav for the nostalgic pics. Brought back lots of happy memories although I’m not quite old enough to have had the jab yet. A couple of weeks yet. This is just the best thread on here. -

Maybe it’s Bukta. There won’t be many on here who had a shirt of that manufacture. -
Did your relative with close links to PNE happen to mention that Neill would be managing Rovers because the Nobb End faithful cannot stand the bloke?

I agree that Ainsworth would fully understand the problems at the club, but does anyone honestly think that Venkys would appoint someone who comes from the same mould as us folk. They would be scared to death that the truth would be laid bare regarding their tenure. Always will be a yes man while they’re at the helm of this rudderless ship.
