Well this is depressing, the top 2 candidates (as far as most of the fans are concerned) are both unlikely to come here. Champ manager: Cocu? League one: no idea, Manning apparently staying at MK Dons and it would require compensation, which Venkys don't do. Jimmy Floyd? A coach: Ferguson? Just another cheap disaster waiting to happen.

That last one isn't particularly inspiring. Been a coach for years and now wants to have a crack at management. It's got Venkys and failure written all over it.

It would be interesting and potentially quite scary to understand just how much influence/power Bala's lad would have at Ewood. The plus side is, if he is actually based out of Ewood, there is actually some potential that they might start to at least try and build some bridges after 12 years. It is likely, that the Venky family will be protecting him as best they can and it's unlikely he'd be facing up to the fans anytime soon. Is there any confirmation that his son is now in charge of the running of the club?

The real question is, are Venkys part of this shortlisting/interview process? We've seen in the past that any work on the ground at Ewood can be literally thrown in the bin when an agent gets someone's ear. Speculation will always be there but until there is a new manager holding a scarf above his head on the website, it could literally be anyone.
