Pretty sure Waggott (I think, not Mowbray) previously said that if they hadn't signed new deals by January, they would be sold (should a club be interested) and replacements brought in. It was probably just a bluff, paper talk to try and put the scares on the players but they (or their agents) seem to have stood firm and now Waggott has backed us into a corner and we'll have to back up the bluff with actions. Would be horrific management to sell Lenihan, Rothwell and Nyambe whilst in the top 2/3.

Yeah definitely agree with that. BBD has had an incredible goal scoring season so far but an injury, suspension or loss of form could derail us.

Soton fans are funding because they know Newcaslte now don't have a premier League game until 15th January. 2 full weeks to buy as many players as possible to be available for the rearranged fixture against a team they would be looking to take points off. The Newcastle fans are loving it and being proper pricks on Twitter about it. "Cry more, were spending £200m before we play you" etc. Never have I wanted a team to be relegated more.

Mowbray previously spoke about having to Temper Venkys enthusiasm for spending a lot of money. They are unlikely to have a better chance of getting to the prem, so opening the purse strings in January should be on the table (ffp permitting)

Misinformation is the absolute killer of social media. Flat earthers, 5G and the main one at the moment, "The clot shot" (as how it was put to me the other week). I get lost down twitter rabbit holes on all those subjects. I wrote a tweet about Sergio Aguero retiring and how it was a shame he retired due to injury and someone commented on it saying "is that what they are calling the clot shot these days?" Absolutely nothing to do with SA or football but these anti vaxxers can't help themselves. Follow @badvaccinetakes for some absolute pearlers. I have no issue with signing Souttar based on his ability/potential but his injury record is a huge concern for me and if it becomes a case of Lenihan walking and this guy replacing him, that is a massive risk as we could very will lose both him and Ayala (would be 2 of our main Cb's) for months at a time.

And he missed most of the season!

But he's suffered 5 major injuries in the last 4-5 years. No way you could rely on him being first choice centre back. Might have managed to miss only 2 games so far this season but he only managed 13 apps in total across the 2 previous seasons. He's a big risk signing, surely.
