  1. If its 4-2-3-1 it would make more sense, so its probably 4-3-3
  2. I joked about him doing this earlier in the thread. If he does this, any lingering hopes i have of being able to back him any longer will evaporate.
  3. I'll bet Venus super glued it there as a joke and now just wallows in despair at the monster he has created.
  4. We really were spoiled during those years. I remember a mate of mine (Newcastle fan) telling me Benni McCarthy was shite and past it when we signed him:
  5. It was class, we were a great team. Take me back to 05-06, 6th place finish, beating Chelsea 1-0 at Ewood to secure European football (Sav's free kick that skimmed Reid's head and went in) unbelievable stuff. Friedel, Nelsen, Neill, Gray, Zurab, Todd, Peds, Sav, Reid, Bentley, Bellamy, Dickov, Kuqi, Emerton, Tugay etc. Cracking squad of players.
  6. I've got a lot of time for Sparky after his time here but are now going back 16 years (Christ) to when he first joined us. I'd still have him back but with a slight fear that he might tarnish his rep he has with Rovers should he fail.
  7. It would be absolute classic Mowbray to start with a front 3 like: Gallagher---Elliott---Brereton
  8. Where is he going to play in this new set up?
  9. You can scratch McCarty off the list. 'McCarthy takes shock role at Cypriot side APOEL' http://www.skysports.com/share/12121707
  10. I wouldn't be concerning yourself with the top 6 too much. We aren't getting into it this season, or any season with Mowbray in charge for that matter.
  11. Absolute bread and butter stuff for Warnock this, Mowbray will play exactly into his hands and we will get done 0-1 or 0-2. Afterwards, all the hard luck stories and we're on a journey bullshit. Boro will sit back, give us the ball, we will have no idea how to break them down and we will get hit on the counter.
  12. Doesn't really make much difference. You don't need to go for a pint with him, he would just need to get Rovers winning football matches.
  13. Another wholly predictable defeat with Mowbray in charge. We are in the throws of a standard Mowbray death cycle which will likely go on for another couple of games before he pulls an unexpected result out of the bag and everything is rosy once again. Such a drain.
  14. Rovers in "behind at half time shocker"
  15. No surprise to see us concede.
  16. Bennett is injured, he isn't in todays squad. Evans somehow keeps his place. We aren't winning this.
  17. FFS Evans still in too, bad times. Being announced on Monday isn't it? A full month lockdown.
  18. Any team can suss us out: Have some pace in your attack Sit back, give us the ball Hit on the break Rinse repeat Win 4-1
  19. There was something fundamentally wrong about Elliott passing the ball from a central position, out wide to Gallagher to put a cross in during the Reading game.
  20. Can't go there with the same 4-3-3 suicidal approach we took against Reading. I doubt we will change much though, so difficult to look past another pasting, no matter how many goals Swansea are scoring. Another 4-2 defeat seems the most likely. With 2 of Swansea's goals coming in the first 15mins. No Rothwell, Kaminski or Johnson isn't good news and Lenihan is getting unbelievably lucky that Ayala continues to be injured. Pears Nyambe Lenihan Williams Douglas JRC Trybull Holtby Elliott Armstrong Brereton
  21. To be honest, should we even give him that? His time in charge here is just one continuous cycle of winning a few games followed by some dismal runs. Hes never been able to resolve our defensive issues. Another typical Mowbray cycle, a few cleans sheets, followed by conceding 2/3/4 every week. The Reading game was a joke, some of the most calamitous defending we've seen from Rovers for some time. No point in sticking with, he'll come good for a bit before reverting back to becoming a shambles, and round and round we go.
  22. We can't play 4-3-3 against the better teams. We are far too fragile on the counter. Bournemouth, Watford and Reading, 2 teams you expect to be near the top end of the league and Reading who currently occupy top spot have managed to score 10 goals past us in 3 games. Watford and Reading pretty much had the game sewn up within 18 mins, scoring either 2 or 3 goals leaving us a mountain to climb in both situations. Bournemouth were 1 up on 25mins and we were chasing the game from then on, equalising twice before still being unable to keep the ball out of our own net for a 3rd time. We can put the poorer teams to the sword but even Coventry hit the post before we scored. Mowbray needs an alternative formation/set up for the better teams, 4-2-3-1 perhaps which leaves us less exposed on the counter. We aren't going to steamroll over every team, our players aren't good enough and the defence is comically woeful at times.
  23. Horrific stuff. Conceding 4 at home is unacceptable.
