  1. Did he promise to have the lowest points per game ratio of any of the last 5 Spurs managers, despite being the 3rd highest net spenders in the league for the last 2 seasons? Or that they'd be a defensive shambles, conceding the 2nd highest amount of goals for any team outside the bottom 3? Ultimately, Spurs have been dismal in the league all season, his excuse of giving up on the league doesn't wash because they were poor from the off. It's just a weak excuse to cover his failings in the League. Most of the season Spurs fans have been calling for his head. If all he wants is to win trophies in tournament football, he'd probably be better suited to International management. He's a poor Premier League manager, obviously the Spurs board/chairman are looking at the bigger picture and not just focusing on the trophy win as a reason to keep him on again. Their Premier League campaign was embarrassing. Like Ten Hag at Utd, the Trophy win just papers over the cracks.
  2. At what point did he give up on the league? Was it the 1 win in 10 between December and January? or the 1 win in 12 between Feb and May? Or the incredibly patchy form after the first 13 games? Its just a terrible excuse from him. I'd be a pretty unhappy Spurs fan knowing I've shelled out very good money for a season ticket, only for the manager to give up with the league in December.
  3. Ppfffttt.. not even advanced talks? Rudy's probably only just found him on Champ Man.
  4. Spurs won just 11 premier league games this season. They didn't even make it to 40 points! Absolutely a sackable offence for a team that is supposed to be pushing for the top 4 and beyond. Yes, he won a cup (and a bloody good one) but he couldn't have asked for better opponents in the final, the worst Man Utd team for many a year.
  5. And already we've been in "advanced talks" with a player who's looking likely to move to Sunderland for a fee we were never getting to, our Captain is being linked with a move to fucking Wrexham, Brittain has been "close" to signing a new deal which still hasnt happened, Batth and Weimann are considering moves to Derby and the consistent issue of money and the owners court case hampering the club has already raised it's head, again.
  6. Well, so much for Rudy suggesting this should be an exciting summer for the club.
  7. Their actions have never tallied with saving face. They’ve taken an enormous amount of flak after pulling the rug under JDT, letting Eustace leave for relegation threatened Derby and refusing to fund the women’s team. That’s all in a short time period in recent history as well. If they were trying to save face JDT would have been backed with a decent budget and the ladies would have got the required funding. If anything they’re becoming even more of a laughing stock as time goes by.
  8. Β£5m!? so, clearly we were never, ever signing this guy.
  9. We haven't even managed to tie down a below average, injury prone Ryan Hedges to a new deal. You would imagine he'd sign on basically the same terms, or without a significant uplift at the very least, relatively quickly. I'm not suggesting that we should be keeping him but the manager has stated that he wants to and you'd imagine this should have been a fairly straightforward deal to be done.
  10. I have no doubts that they leave contract negotiations as late as possible for 2 reasons: 1. So they can go longer paying less wages. 2. Players start having half an eye on an exit, and with less than 12 months on their contracts, they are likely to garner a reasonable amount of interest. The club can sell, gain a bit of money, shift wages off the books and avoid paying players more money. Any replacement is either an academy graduate on peanuts or a new signing earning a lot less. It's all a total circus and there is no desire to improve, just cut costs/keep them to a minimum.
  11. Pretty sure he also said any money generated from player sales wouldn't be reinvested into the squad. So, why would we sell anyone?
  12. If they sell Travis to Wrexham, I'll be absolutely fucking fuming.
  13. Absolutely boggles the mind why you want to continue owning a football club but then leave the running of it to someone who'll only ever make decisions which are detrimental to the club. They clearly aren't here for the love of BRFCS, so why the fuck are they still here?
  14. As always, I think the 3 stooges (now 2 stooges) have just been lying to us consistently. Clearly the court case in India is having a serious impact on the club and despite a few leaked stories about players signing new contracts or being in advanced talks with potential signings, we're more likely to see players like Travis, Tronstad, Hyam and Brittain sold to cover the costs for the owners. The club will spin any number of various lines to cover their backs, from blaming the players for being greedy or not blocking pathways for academy players. Its all bullshit and I'm fucking fed up with it all.
  15. Yep, saw that they signed their 3rd player of the summer yesterday. No idea on the quality of any of them but at least they've had their targets and landed them early doors. Christ knows what our lot are up to.
  16. Subbed off at 70mins, game still 0-0. No idea how he played though.
  17. I've never bought into the saving face line either. I've said on here previously that I've worked with teams in India for years now and generally there is very little pride in their work. When the going gets tough, or their work starts getting questioned, they just cut all comms for as long as possible and bury their heads in the sand. They can hide easier, as they are on the other side of the world. I've never seen anything, in 10 years+, that suggests there is a huge worry about what others think of them or their work. Quite the opposite, in fact.
  18. Managers like Cooper and O'Neil were out of our reach, according to the 3 stooges. Let's see if Boro have any genuine ambition with their next appointment
  19. Has gone literally as people predicted it would: 1. Offer made 2. Progress on a new contract 3. Club confident he will sign 4. All goes quiet 5. Club leaks to the LET that he wants more than we are offering 6. Sold for 1/4 of his value 7. Club blames player for being greedy We've just hit stage 5 by the sounds of it.
