  1. Not for me. The bloke is a hero/legend whatever you wanna call him but being nice and letting him leave for a knockdown price sets the precedent across the board. Players will be asking to leave for less than their value because we did it for Sammie and other clubs will be smelling blood because we flog players on the cheap. £8m for the leading goalscorer in the championship and cup. It's a borderline insult tbh. It's not like the prem clubs are strapped for cash. The club comes first, needs to be a sensible price or not at all.
  2. A full season playing in league one would be what they both really need.
  3. I don't rate Dolan that much but at 22 years old and already with 150 Rovers apps to his name, he's in a good place to kick on and improve over the next few seasons. It would be classic Rovers to finally get a consistent tune out of him this season and watch him walk for free next summer.
  4. Agreed. After 14 years of complete mismanagement, the club is desperate for new ownership and that ownership needs to come in and gut the place completely.
  5. So in reality, what's the point in hiring him? He's unlikely to be here beyond the end of the season. Also, and it might be different in football, but i find people who change jobs almost annually are generally bullshitters, who jump before they are found out.
  6. Nar, that post about the backroom staff is the latest one.
  7. I know we activated the 1 year option but I’m sure Dolan has had a new contract on the table for quite some time now? Figured he would have signed it by now if he was staying
  8. Lampard been offered the job apparently:
  9. How many people have left now? Feels like a few.
  10. Is this something to shout about? I dunno tbh.
  11. Ah my bad, I thought the £190m was losses for the last couple of years. Misread that.
  12. Cheers. Still not sure how they can make £190m losses, only be allowed £105 or £83m and still not be in trouble but I'm sure you're correct.
  13. What's the allowable losses for them? (Unknown how it works for relegated PL clubs)
  14. 😲 Really? That's a bizarre decision.
  15. Yikes. Assume they'll somehow avoid any penalties for the coming season, whereas Rovers "can't invest" and "have to sell" Sammie Szmodics just to keep the lights on.
  16. I suspect once you go up, so do all your costs. Didn't a Dingle chairman/owner say something along these lines a few years ago?
  17. Unbelievably frustrating to watch clubs get promoted and our only aim is to exist. Fucking hate Venkys.
  18. What difference does it make when the outcome is the same either way? The first team gets weaker, no money is reinvested, we make further budget cuts.
  19. Correct. Not sure why anyone would "Snap their hands off for £15m" when literally £0 will be reinvested.
  20. My local club, York City charge £22 on a match day and they are in the national league.
  21. Quite specific with this tweet, I guess we'll see how genuine it is soon enough.
  22. On the face of it, after surviving by the skin of their teeth last season, this feels like comfortably one of the worst appointments they could have made.
  23. Condolences @sympatheticclaret, I lost my Dad a couple of years back, also to an awful disease (my dad suffered from a rare disease called "PSP" (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/progressive-supranuclear-palsy-psp/)) which robbed him of his independence and quality of life. Watching a loved one, especially your dad, go through something like this is utterly heartbreaking. So I feel your pain. Again, condolences to you and your family.
  24. It all makes sense now. You can see why he did well enough under the circumstances now.
