  1. Just because something has always been done a certain way doesn’t mean it is right. It’s a non argument. Football needs to communicate better with the public, for example the farce when Rovers fans made an unnecessary journey to Hull which could have been prevented with better communication and Saturdays farce which needed to be explained to a mystified and frustrated public Saying “that’s the way it’s always been done” is just plain dumb. If that were always the case football would still have 11 a side with no substitutes and a rope instead of crossbars
  2. WTF not? When they've made a decision late in the day that affects the lives of tens of thousands of fans it's not alot to ask Football refs will also be asked explain their on-field decisions in future. Several countries are looking at it and other sports already do it
  3. Refs should be contractually obliged to explain their decisions to the public when a match is called off Transparency and courtesy - it's not alot to ask
  4. Has there been any statement from the club, or an apology? If I were Millwall FC, I'd be hopping mad and making a complaint to the EFL What we did to them was worse than the Hull postponement

  6. West Brom losing again puts into perspective our lamentable failure to win at the Hawthorns on Monday. Albion were so bang average it's hard to believe they've been so high up in the league for most of the season. Monday was a case of 2 points lost for Rovers rather than a point gained
  7. We've scored 1 goal in the last 540 minutes of league football.......who "stepped up" then? Fact is the club failed dismally to strengthen the forward dept in the transfer window
  8. Yes, roads and others travel will be taken into consideration
  9. They'd have played on that years ago but in the modern world if it stays like that I'd say the match will be off

  14. All very true but Walker clearly made a strategic error in not investing further in 1995. The result was he then saw his beloved Rovers get relegated a few years later and although he died in the summer of 2000 after our promotion back to the top flight, he spent the last years of his life watching us in the second tier again. The irony is he spent another fortune in the late 1990s, often on some very average players, when the money would have been better spent in summer 1995 when quality players would have flocked to Ewood.
  15. Hindsight or bleedin' obvious? All the top clubs strengthen when they're on top. Standing still is fatal in football and that's exactly what we did in summer 1995 (and this January transfer window as well). Walker isn't above criticism and he got it badly wrong after we won the title
  16. There is no "implication" to that effect at all. You made it up
  17. It wasn't available in summer 1995 though - Walker decided the team didn't needs strengthening. A fatal decison
  18. Summer of 1995 Kanchelskis was available, the best winger in the Premiership at the time - couldn't understand why we didn't move for him but it became clearer with hindsight as Walker had turned the spending taps off. Rovers owe Walker so much obviously but he also sowed the seeds of our destruction that summer
  19. Our lack of firepower and need for more and better players in the squad was well flagged up by many during the window. Injuries, suspensions and loss of form were always going to take their toll This isn't "hindsight" or moaning. It was bleedin' obvious. You're trying to argue otherwise by making personal comments
  20. Silly post and doesn't answer the question of the predicament Rovers now find themselves in
  21. It's OK Mowbray or whoever saying "someone has to step up" to replace Brereton but who exactly? Dack - forget it, he'll never be the same player again Butterworth - schoolboy player, not ready for the first team Gallagher - maybe but highly unlikely The failure to add forward firepower in January was a serious mistake. Injuries to key players was always going to happen As its stands, unless the midfield contributes (not on present form) and defenders start chipping in (even more unlikely) where are the goals coming from?
