  1. Reporters research and produce their own material too, sometimes under the direction of a news editor but often taking forward their own ideas. The point is, whichever branch of the craft they are in, they are all journalists.
  2. What's that as it stands 7 points out of 45?
  3. If you're referring to the way the club is run, yes we did our bit 40 years ago in a way that would not be possible now. Rev's done a great job with his actions over Brockhall... I've congratulated him and signed his letter I'm not sure what your problem is.
  4. Shows how little you know. They're all journalists....it says so on their NUJ card
  5. What's a better use of time - paying £10 for another 90 minutes of agony or mowing the grass? Gallagher on the wing again - mowing it is
  6. Everyone who works in print, TV, radio, all kinds of media, as either reporters or on production staff, are journalists
  7. Which is wrong. Those who work in the industry and choose to join are members of the NUJ... the clue's in the title. Journalism is a broad field.
  8. On newspapers, magazines, TV, radio and all other media: General reporters, sports reporters, news reporters, business reporters, feature writers, leader writers, analysis and comment writers and presenters. Editors, sports editors, news editors, features editors, business editors, sub-editors across the spectrum, page designers, and all producers They're all journalists
  9. All the media prepare obituaries well in advance. The Queen's will already have been written too.
  10. Last time they were promoted Watford had 4 managers in a single season.
  11. Commentator sounds like the bloke who does Rovers matches on ifollow
  12. A team like us in other words - except ours look like they are frightened of their own shadows at the moment I thought the Rovers looked thoroughly demoralised against Bournemouth. The players have lost confidence in themselves and look resigned to defeat when we go behind. No doubt we'll eke out a point here and there but it's not looking good.
  13. What did they do before they "drilled down" ? Perhaps they used a simple English word, such as "sought", or "searched", or "examined"? And how about the "roadmap" out of lockdown? How did we ever survive all those years without "roadmaps"? In the old days there'd be a simple English word like "route", or "way", or "plan"? Then there's the "rollout" of vaccines, when surely "distribution" is a perfectly adequate British English word and finally, the worst of the lot, "ramping up", probably the most overused American word of the pandemic and the most annoying when "increase" or "expand" or "extend" is easily understood
  14. Excellent letter Simon. Have signed
  15. There speaks a man asking to be sacked and eager to collect his redundancy money No honour amongst thieves
  16. Other managers looked at the way we were playing and adjusted accordingly Tony had no plan B,
  17. How can a supposedly honourable man look at himself in the mirror and not admit to himself that he is failing in his job and has reached the end of the road?
  18. One thing is absolutely certain: if Mowbray is still here next season we will be relegated
  19. This is a demoralised set of players. Can't even score a penalty
  20. It's all too easy. And we offer no threat at all Commentators: "the lack of home crowds has had a real effect on Rovers" No mention of the manager Twerps
