  1. You're kidding right? Flopped at United understandably following in Ferguson's footsteps but did a very good job for years at Everton and the same now at West Ham. Admittedly not won anything but very few have outside the elite managerial club. He's a top manager
  2. Done my bit 50 years ago! Time for you lot to have a a go
  3. I was in the Nuttall St stand towards the Darwen End which was unusual as we normally didn't sit. Most Liverpool fans were at the Darwen End and were in a foul mood as they left the ground. A few of their bottles landed in the Nuttall St stand. Horrible lot.
  4. Can still see the Harrison penalty in my mind's eye. Nearly broke the net as usual
  5. Thanks for that. I didn't see St John play in the case. It was a great game, Liverpool went 2-0 up early then we pulled it back to 2-2 by half time and scored the winner in the second half. This is all from memory nearly 60 years ago so might be wrong! Liverpool supporters weren't happy - lots of beer bottles being thrown around after the final whistle.
  6. Protest outside boardroom / main stand before the game; protest inside the ground during the game; protest outside again after the game. Make feelings known, loud, clear and often, a bit of passion. I really don't see the point of boycotts.
  7. Glenn Roeder yesterday, Ian St John today. Peter Lorimer very ill too. All these great players from the past passing away, inevitable but still sad. I only saw Liverpool at Ewood once, when we came back from 2-0 down to beat them 3-2, circa 1964 ? Assume St John was in that side.
  8. What a load of rubbish, and proof that he over-complicates and overthinks the game. If he's talking that sort of stuff in the dressing room it's no wonder the players wander around dazed and confused - how are they supposed to decipher that? Football's pretty simple - play your best players in the right positions and let them get on with it.
  9. Staying at home, hoping the problem will go away, and you need virtually everyone to do it. It won't happen and it won't work
  10. You don't get regime change by staying away, in effect doing nothing.
  11. On past form it's at low points like this that Mowbray turns it around and we go on another unbeaten run. However, it feels different this time. The team looks listless and disinterested. I'd be amazed if we avoid defeat
  12. Quite right Rev. But no use complaining on here. What are fans going to do about it?
  13. Didn't Watford have 4 managers in one season the previous time they won promotion? Instability clearly works at some clubs
  14. The players can't be enjoying themselves, they certainly don't look as if they are. I remember from my playing days when it wasn't going right; there's nothing worse than turning up for matches knowing you're likely to lose and you just want to get the season over with. That's how Rovers look at the moment.
  15. Some KInd of Nothingness ...... the Manic Street Preachers Rovers anthem under Tony
  16. Barnsley within 1 point of playoffs
  17. Does 1 point out of 18 count as progress?
  18. Follow the money - what is Waggott's cut from all this if he pulls it off?
  19. Planning process is notoriously slow. Make that another 5 years of Mowbray
  20. First time I've seen him. I was always told never trust a man with a beard because they're hiding behind it So no, I don't believe a word he says.
  21. The question must be why did Rovers sign him?
  22. West Ham knew Martin Britt was a crock, and I think Rovers did too, but we still signed him, £25,000 IIRC though I might be wrong, a fortune at the time. He'd obviously done his cruciate (a wonky knee they used to call it) which was career ending then but would be routine surgery now. Britt was a good player. I remember seeing Gilliver sitting in the Nuttall St stand injured more often than he played.
  23. Well there it is. England batting beaten before the start. Mindset all wrong and poor techniques exposed
  24. Two misfields in the first over. As one journalist said they can’t bat, they can’t bowl and they can’t field. Bring em home
  25. This isn’t “entertainment” it’s a travesty of test cricket He might be out quickly but Rohit will show how to play spin
