  1. Sweet is the Night - ELO
  2. Pope is the same. One good innings in 10. And they're talking about restoring him to No 3. Same technical problems that get exposed by the best bowlers. England look as fragile as ever, just as likely to lose badly as win easily. Bazball mentality. It's not Test cricket to my mind.
  3. The last direct Blackburn - London train service was withdrawn in 1959 and it's time it was restored. The area's population surely justifies it. Blackburn used to have direct trains to Glasgow, Liverpool, Wigan and Southport, among other places. all long gone.
  4. Good luck with your 6-hour journey from hell to the New Den. I'll be having a snooze or relaxing with a cup of tea watching the countryside go by.
  5. £80 with a 16-30 railcard or senior railcard; better than missing the match because of hold-ups on the M6, M1 and the nightmare of getting across the smoke to sarf London
  6. England capitulated pretty quickly as expected. They must have had more important things on their mind. What time were they teeing off in the afternoon?
  7. Aaarrggh, someone mentioned Big Sam - cue all those who say we were right to sack him but replaced him with the wrong guy trying to justify their opinions. I still say his sacking was the worst move this club has ever made Eustace won't go to the Premier League - boards will look at his painful TV interviews and a playing style that is straight out of the Pulis playbook, and will shy away. He's the perfect fit for Rovers at the moment - and I think he knows it.
  8. Crawley is a walking wicket. Time to go, one good innings in 10 isn’t good enough. Stokes injured again too.
  9. I very much doubt Wolves will go for Eustace. The fans are a vocal lot who make their feelings known and would be totally underwhelmed for one. Mr Charisma he isn't. Wolves are almost certain to pick another foreign coach and I'm sure have him lined up already Although Eustace took us close to relegation last season and you do have to wonder about his communication skills because he makes for a dreadful interviewee, you can't argue with the job he's done so far this season and there's no doubt he's got the Rovers players playing for him.
  10. No. they'd be barmy owing to his lack of PL experience and I'm sure Wolves fans would be totally underwhelmed. John who? And if they did I'd welcome O'Neil at Ewood. He was treated badly by Bournemouth and his teams play good, attacking football.
  11. England showing the same old weaknesses - their continuing failure to bowl out the tail-enders, NZ's last 3 put on more than 100 runs owing to a daft strategy of bowling bouncers at them, and a lack of ruthlessness against a struggling team. I know England have won the series but why not go for the 3-0 and give notice of intent with series against India and Australia on the horizon. Poor effort.
  12. I ain't shutting the relegation thread yet
  13. That's not good. Should be around the 16-17 mark considering how well the team is playing. Usual brickbats aimed at the management
  14. Just saw that. Robertson's struggling for form at the moment and will also miss games as a result of the red card. He'd be a big loss if he went back Let's make this safe lads. Here's hoping for a 4-0 thumping by full time!
  15. If Brittain is fit I’d bring him back and put Rankin-Costello in the Cantwell role. That would be the only change. I really don’t like Dolan and would like to see him dropped but manager seems to like him so he plays
  16. Another unexpected win! Hats off to the manager for getting the most out of a very limited squad. Long may it continue. Even one of our misfit forwards scored. Cantwell,s silly yellow card the only blot on a very satisfying evening
  17. Southgate left the England job without a trophy but with his head held high, England's standing on the international stage restored, the country's most successful manager since Ramsey and millions in the bank. Why would be put his hard-won reputation at risk by taking on the poisoned chalice of the Old Trafford job? On another note, it's the battle of the sack in the West Ham v Wolves match tonight. Either manager or possibly both seem destined for the chop
  18. Anyone know if we can pay on the gate?
  19. If your instincts are "never wrong", can you please tell us the scoreline of Rovers' next game and we'll all put a bet on The next winning Lottery number would be useful too
  20. Another day, another win. Poor performance to judge from the comments on here but who's complaining?
  21. Not going - call me timid but al my age I don't fancy the M62 or the lottery of the rail service in this weather.
  22. Unless it's tongue in cheek why do fans post this sort of stuff? Talk about setting yourself up for a fall. Are you related to Mercer (where's he gone BTW?) There's so many variables in football and assuming the match goes ahead it'll be very difficult playing conditions today, so anything can happen - literally so with the erratic Pears in goal.
  23. Hull today appointed Reading boss Ruben Selles as manager though he won’t officially take over until Hull’s home game against Watford on Wednesday. Reading fans not happy as he seems to have turned the club’s fortunes around.
  24. Crawley like Pope comes off once in a while and it's OK being aggressive but taking this Bazball nonsense to such extremes he must have the brain the size of a pea to play the way he does. Bring back Barber, Barrington and Boycott. Fifteen wickets falling in a day isn't good Test cricket in my view. This looks like another match unlikely to extend beyond 3 days. The public is being short-changed
