  1. Advance warning: this fixture is no longer pay on the gate And away tickets can no longer be ordered over the phone and posted out through the Rovers ticket office, forcing fans to use the wonderful rovers.co.uk website
  2. That was an awful performance and game. Rovers never out of 2nd gear.
  3. We have to win these sort of games if we’ve got any pretentions of the top 6
  4. Dreadful, low key low quality game
  5. This is poor. Team needs changing
  6. Good effort by Lancs in the second innings against Somerset. It could stop Somerset winning the title but will it be enough to prevent Lancs going down?
  7. Just seen the highlights - two excellent goals from the Japanese lad, very much like Sammie in that he picks his spot and "passes" the ball into the net. Great win and a welcome tonic after an afternoon umpiring a cricket match and getting dog's abuse from players. If anyone's thinking of having a go - don't bother, it's not worth it.
  8. There's definitely a hoodoo with some teams Away from home I've never seen us beat Coventry, Reading or, years ago, West Ham. My last 2 visits to Coventry were both abject defeats Warning: I'm going on 1st October
  9. Tomasson had Rovers playing the same way and it drove me mad at times. It was great when it came off but all too often it didn't I remember particularly a game at Luton where they pressed us hard for 10 minutes at the start of the second half and we gave the ball away twice to gift them 2 goals. And that was it - game over.
  10. On away trips just about every club we visit has a ticket office open before the match. I can’t think of any that don’t offhand. Penny pinching. It’s really pathetic by Waggott but typical of the way he runs the club.
  11. Too late. The Midlands was mooted as the site for a new national stadium instead of rebuilding Wembley - a site was identified near road and rail links that would have been ideal for fans across the country and help drive economic activity away from the south-east but the "authorities" decided to stay in London. The fact that the area around Wembley has also been entirely rebuilt with shopping centres, entertainment venues and blocks of high-rise expensive apartments is co-incidental of course. Nothing changes - London always wins because that's where the government is The FA won't be holding game around England anytime soon.
  12. We had some great night at Wembley for friendly internationals back in the day. There were far fewer matches so it was much more of an occasion and the old ground always seemed to be rocking with fans singing and enjoying themselves and getting behind the national team. I enjoyed the game tonight and thought Carsley's England was a big improvement on Southgate's but Wembley was half empty and seemed like a morgue compared with the great days. Sad. I blame the Champions League
  13. Pretty good half - quite enjoyable to watch. England played at a much higher tempo than under Southgate and it was good to see 2 wingers on show - when was the last time that happened? Grealish playing well underlining the daft decision not to take him to the Euros
  14. Poor, unprofessional performance against a weak Sri Lanka team. The summer isn't complete without an England batting collapse and it has cost us again. The bowlers weren't much better either. Pope should not be captain because he's not good enough to be a fixture in the team. The odd big score aside, his technical problems and fragile temperament are reflected in too many low scores. Embarrassing all round.
  15. Rattin was a dirty player. He deserved to be sent off. Argentina got their own back with Maradona's handball goal. Now that was real theft
  16. Agree. Johansson was outstanding for Rotherham at Ewood last season - best keeper at this level I've seen in years
  17. Please don't Mercer. I can't go through another season of wine-fuelled hyper-optimism
  18. Have to admit I let out an expletive when Travis did that. All he had to do was keep his toe down and keep the shot on target and it could have been a goal. Coupled with the Dolan disallowed goal a 3-1 win would have been so sweet after last year
  19. Should have got that late shot at least on target though
  20. Beck looked like a player who's been given a chance and was determined to keep the shirt. He looks a real terrier of a player, always snapping at the heels of opponents. He looks a good addition to the squad but I don't see him replacing Harry as first-choice left back yet
  21. Not sure, if he is then it's a good game to miss. I guess we'll find out alot about Beck today, debuts don't come much tougher than this
  22. Surprised Beck is starting. It's a gamble, he looked very raw in the footage I've seen. Harry must be miffed. The defence (and the goalkeeper of course) worries me. There's not a real hard nut among them
  23. Well done on Oasis. I'm still stuck in the queue
  24. Hendry and Moran were brought up on porridge and tatties; modern players on muesli and latte
