  1. Lower half of the table, 14th at the very best. The team needs a player and tactical shake-up but Mowbray's too set in his ways. He's never resolved the defensive problem; his teams always leak far too many goals. Oh, and Dack will increasingly get the hump as the season goes on and the team struggles. He will leave in January.
  2. Bruce, McCarthy, Allardyce are in the Warnock mould. Pragmatic managers who get results with many promotions on their CV. I'd have any of them over Mowbray.
  3. It's the small errors that kill you in the higher divisions. Williams going to sleep for their 2nd probably wouldn;'t have been punished last season but the better players in this league will exploit it. It's why the likes of Williams, Smallwood, Evans, etc etc will ultimately have to be replaced if we're going to survive never mind do well at this level
  4. That's just more of the same. The team looks stale, is gradually being found out at this level and needs a shake-up. Edit, just seen Rothwell but midfield and defence has too many 3rd division plodders
  5. Need 2 top centre halves. The Brereton money should have been spent on them
  6. The feelgood factor from last season has well and truly gone for me. That's one win out of the last 6 - Steve Bruce was sacked after winning one in 9. We'll finish mid-table at the very best. Is Mowbray the man to talk us forward? Bruce, Mick McCarthy and Sam Allardyce are available - all managers with tremendous records of promotion from this division
  7. Well said. We conceded too many last season too.
  8. We look like a promoted 3rd division team tonight - out of our depth
  9. Mowbray got it wrong again. Another draw at best. This isn't good enough - he's signed some good players, they should be starting
  10. Have you asked all of their 30,000 plus fan base ? Just because you don't like Sam and Mick doesn't mean they agree with you.
  11. Expecting a very tough game. Cannot recall seeing Rovers beat the Blades that many times over the decades. Although we've drawn too many games so far I wouldn't be surprised or too disappointed to see this finish all square.
  12. Rovers' late entry surcharge is similar to the rail franchises who raise prices massively for walk-on rail fares. In both cases they deter people who through force of circumstance or preference make late decisions and instead force people to seek alternatives - in Rovers case not attend the match and in the case of rail travel by alternative means. Both mean the club and the railway lose out on valuable business and both aren''t fair to supporters and passengers.
  13. Under-achieving teams always blame the referee when they ought to be looking at themselves to their own failings. Referees don't win matches but good footballs teams do. We're doing okay but it could be so much better. 4 drawn games at home out of 5 is too many
  14. There's no embarrassment. 3 points slipped away today through poor finishing. In other games poor defending has let us doewn. Good team spirit hides the fact we've drawn too many games that should have been won. Outside of your blue and white bubble fans are allowed to point out the obvious. Mowbray's something of a draw expert for us at this level - as this season and 2 years ago show.
  15. Disappointing result. Mowbray draws too many games, same fault led to relegation 2 years ago. Lenihan is off form and needs dropping,, and Mulgrew's reversion to injury type makes the failure to sign a solid centre half last month mystifying. Downing isn't a solution at this level The die is cast for the season it appears. We're too good to get involved in the relegation struggle but not good enough to challenge for the top 6.
  16. Downing isn't good enough at this level
  17. We need 2 new centre halves - and quick. Lenihan is a liability and Mulgrew has reverted to type with injuries
  18. The opposition is irrelevant. It happens far too often.
  19. Mowbray's teams concede too many goals - always have done. Saturday's collapse at Stoke was a case in point. Conceding late is down to lack of concentration and poor game management. Needs concentration and determination to see a game out
  20. Burnley fans would disagree
  21. Burns has had a good season but I'd be amazed if he comes off at international level. England have real problems at 1, 2 and 3. There doesn't appear to be a top class player in the county game who can step up.
  22. Jennings won't get anywhere near that average for England. Poor by Lancs. In football, the manager would be sacked.

  24. Ipswich fans are getting what they deserve. Thery more or less forced out an excellent manager in Mick McCarthy, demanding change and championship manager type football, and now they are getting to realise that it doesn't work. For clubs like Ipswich with little money to spend pragmatism is always the best policy . Spoke to an Ipswich fan last week asnd he says he's rather get relegated playing "good football" than have McCarthy and be a strong and stable Championship club. How daft can you get?
  25. Billy Don't Be a Hero - Paper Lace
