  1. It’s hard to come back from 49-4. Without Stokes my prediction of 150 wouldn’t have been far out I don’t mind the aggressive approach but giving away wickets is unforgivable. So many batsmen have done it. Shot selection is so important and it’s not necessary to chase after every short of pitched up ball The Carey incident yesterday left a bad taste but as coach I’d have been furious with Bairstow for the lack of professionalism in what he did. As a club player I always made sure the ball was dead before I went for a “walk”. england talking today about winning 3-2 but I’m sick of their big talk. We want action not words.
  2. Yep, losing cricket - and one person liked your post. Presumably they enjoy losing
  3. Yes, really. This might blow your brain but battling for and achieving a draw is tense and exciting Some of the best Test matches I've seen in 50 plus years of watching cricket have been draws. A draw today would have put us only 1-0 behind and the series still winnable. As it stands the Ashes is more than likely over. I hate losing, you obviously don't mind as long as it's exciting. Against the convicts, that's incomprehensible
  4. "Superb" 🙄 Bazball is in trial now. The other lot think it's nonsense and their media find it funny. At the moment it's losing cricket... and that's what matters
  5. Oh dear. Have you seen every England bowling attack of the past 50 plus years?
  6. Spot on matey .... and it's not often you owt right
  7. Not true The likes of Boycott, Barrington, Barber, Edrich, Graveney, Bailey would have batted right through today and saved the game.
  8. There's a theme here though. As it happens, I thought Bairstow was very unprofessional in what he did - that sort of stumping would have taken place in club cricket. England have to play harder (within the rules) as this lot stretch the rules to the limit - they always have done.
  9. I'm pleased you enjoy losing. Most England fans don't
  10. Bazball is a philosophy of flat-track bullies.
  11. "Mental decision making". Excuse me while I larf
  12. The convicts will start crowing now about a likely whitewash. If England don't show some fight from here and win at least 1 Test Stokes should resign as captain and McCullum consider his position We've not lost to this lot in more than 20 years at home. If we do, Bazball will be to blame
  13. Looking at the Bairstow dismissal again, he really was being dopey not to check the over was complete and he was naive to think a convict player would not do that. If it had been the other way round I'm certain we'd have been celebrating All over. Another defeat and the Ashes more or less gone Stokes and and Duckett aside, England have been poor and deserved to lose but should never have lost that first Test.
  14. Patience is the key Stokes gone
  15. I suspect a certain I T Botham might have been in his element too Stokes should never gone for the bouncer that Smith failed to catch. This where Bazball goes wrong. He doesn't need to attack every short ball
  16. You get the impression Stuart Broad especially is enjoying this - hope he doesn't give his wicket away after lunch. Have to say I've never seen or heard Lord's like this.. If this had happened at Edgbaston or Headingley there might have been a French style riot
  17. That's really annoyed me - this lot deserve pelters every day for the rest of the series Bugger Bazball which cost us the first Test but a win from here would be fantastic
  18. "Same old Aussies, always cheating," sings the vast majority of Lord's. That's one reason why I thoroughly dislike them and why we should never give them an inch - like in the first Test
  19. I hope England don’t stick to this “we don’t do draws” nonsense. A draw would be a good result from here and leave us 1-0 down instead of two. Some of the best and most tense Test matches have been draws .
  20. and expecting the same result. Definition of madness attributed to Einstein Let's see how England play in their second innings. I'm not hopeful
  21. “All we make is entertainment, a sad indictment of what we’re good at”, sang the Manics in their track railing against Thatcherism and it applies to this England team too We haven’t lost an Ashes series at home to this lot in 20 years. Likely defeat in this match makes that almost inevitable. As on field captain Stokes is the main culprit for taking this silly Bazball ideology to extremes. The other lot cannot believe what they’re seeing. Their media is laughing. But hey, it’s entertainment
  22. You forgot the obvious scenario: we collapse to 150 all out whatever target they set All over by tea tomorrow.
  23. The man's a twerp We're about to go 2-0 down at home in an Ashes series because of Bazball ideology Enough
  24. We've not lost an Ashes series at home for 20 years - it's not looking good for Bazball at the moment
  25. This series, the most important of all.
