  1. Thin squad getting thinner... JRC out with what looks like a hamstring and Wharton facing a ban
  2. Not my favourite player and he has been poor most of this season but he's played well the past few games
  3. Dolan air shot, rather like my golf
  4. Why didn't Rankin Costello shoot???? Still trying to walk it in the net
  5. Norwich done their homework, pressing Rovers high. Several mistakes already giving the ball away
  6. Norwich without a win in 5 games and Duffy and the immutable law of the ex We know what happens next
  7. Looks strange without Lewis Travis. I'm sure you'd agree
  8. Ennis looked like he'd never played for years at Chelsea, completely off the pace mentally and physically. He must be one of the most questionable signings the club has made in recent times - and there's been a fair number
  9. Anyone know if it’s possible to pay on the gate?
  10. Clear shove in the back of the defender too. Also, shouldn’t the ball be inside the quadrant from corners?
  11. Livingstone, what a waste of space. And he got a central contract. No wonder Willey was teed off
  12. Then came the shock FA Cup defeat away to Oxford United, captained by one Ron Atkinson IIRC. And it was a shock - scarcely believeable at the time. A sign of the decline to come unfortunately
  13. Bad memories of going there in the Premier League relegation season when we were 3-1 up with 10 minutes left and managed to draw it 3-3. Brilliant goal from Hoillett IIRC Won't be going this time as it's too early in the day. Hoping for a bounceback after the Swansea and Chelsea defeats but with a dodgy goalkeeper and non-scoring forwards it's best to be realistic Norwich 2 Rovers 1
  14. I don't normally bother with long posts (it's supposed to be a messageboard) but that was a good read - heartfelt for the good old Rovers days and written with a bit of style. Well done
  15. I felt sorry for Harry Pickering. His lack of pace and poor positional play, coupled with the lack of help and cover from either Garrett or Moran, allowed James and Sterling especially in the second half the freedom of the right flank. It was excruciating to watch. It's game like these when you realise many of our players just aren't good enough for the higher levels - and Harry's one of them. Funnily enough, I though Markanday did OK, quite tidy, didn't give the ball away much and made some good runs. He's always going to struggle because of his size though,, he's such a little lad. Chelsea's big hulks just brushed him aside
  16. 12-year-old schoolboys Someone said it was like a Sunday league goalkeeper, which is in fact an insult to Sunday league goalkeepers. I've rarely seen amateur keepers make the gaffes Wahlstedt (sp?) did at Millwall and Chelsea. Both of our goalkeepers are liabilities. Tomasson has to be ruthless. Bring Pears back until January and find a better goalkeeper in the next transfer window
  17. From where we were standing more than 100 yards away it looked a penalty, as clear a penalty as you'll ever see. Everyone around us said the same. "Handball"! Rovers need to make an official inquiry to the EFL as to why it was not given. The referee should at least provide an explanation.
  18. We were right behind the goal for his gaffe at Millwall and again behind him last night. At present he is no better than Pears. We need a proper goalkeeper, one who gets the basics right. I can't believe there aren't better ones in the lower leagues we could sign I've played in teams with dodgy goalkeepers who regularly give goals away. It saps your morale and as players it pisses you right off when you work your socks off and all that work is undone by silly mistakes. Outfield players make mistakes too, but a goalkeeper who makes them regularly is a liability
  19. Our group was right behind the goal. He didn’t need to lace the ball, it just needed a left foot side foot into the corner but he couldn’t even test the keeper. His age is irrelevant, it was a bad miss and he misses a lot
  20. He’s going to be one of those strikers who needs 6 or 7 chances to score 1.
  21. Big money players don’t make those mistakes.
  22. The referee had a clear view. Why didn’t he give it?
  23. He doesn’t “learn” though. He misses far too many. Last night he didn’t even hit the target. I was right behind the goal. It was a bad miss, worse than Siggi, and should have been a goal
  24. Not a bad night, huge gulf in class, skill and strength but Rovers gave a good account of themselves. Two silly, soft goals given away and Leonard and Siggurdson should have scored but they are the differences that big money buys. The Rovers support was excellent as always A few observations Harry Pickering will have nightmares about Raheem Sterling. I’ve not seen a player given the run around like that for a long time. Otherwise the Rovers defence played well, Brittains gaffe for the 2nd notwithstanding We need another goalkeeper. The lad inspires no confidence whatsoever and he’s going to cost us alot of points this season. I didn’t understand the subs. Garret looked out of his depth so why did he stay on? Ennis is embarrassingly awful and one of those players you wonder how he became a pro. The standout for me was the difference kn physicality between the teams. Chelsea were big and strong and some of our lot are like schoolboys in comparison
