  1. Making losses doesn't automatically mean that the squad has been adequately funded. Losses are to be expected at this level because Championship wages are not in line with income across the board. This is made worse for us because we are run negligently, not maximising our income fully and with our owners preventing us from being able to sell players to be able to reinvest. Our squad is probably over reliant on our academy. It is a good job that a lot are talented enough but some perhaps arent ready, and it also means that we lack experience.
  2. I wouldnt want Gallagher to sign one. The other 2 I think have 2 years with their option but they shouldn't be allowed to enter their final year.
  3. Not every player will be willing to sign a new deal though.
  4. Bizarre judgement. He was rubbish.
  5. The new DOF makes no difference, it is the owners that turn down bids allowing them to run their deals down. Something you have strongly supported.
  6. Kaminski Rankin Costello Carter Hyam Pickering Travis A Wharton Thomas Szmodics Hedges Brereton Subs: Pears, Brittain, Wharton, Morton, Dolan, Leonard, Dack
  7. Shocking display and Tomasson got plenty wrong. Wrong team selection, Gallagher on the wing and Dolan up front again didnt work and why Wharton was dropped I do not know. Subs made too late and we wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now. Brereton was crap but Gallagher and Dolan were just as bad, although they dont have moves lined up.
  8. Tomasson said the other day that its loans and frees.
  9. He barely plays for us anyway but again, who are we to say what he should be doing. He might get a considerable payrise.
  10. They wont v us but theyve made loads of changes today. Even changed their keeper to presumably get him a medal.
  11. Would be harsh to drop Szmodics I think. Also in a front 3 with a midfield with minimal goal threat, I feel like Thomas doesn't offer much goal threat himself. More suited to getting up and down in a 4231 with someone playing off the front man.
  12. Kaminski is a better keeper and ultimately it is not about sending messages but sending out our best team. If he goes in the summer then it is a huge loss of even more of the remaining limited experience and no money forthcoming from the owners who are "better than 90% in the EFL" to replace him. Goalkeeper is not the same as any other position. Our academy hopefuls suddenly becoming a bundle of nerves due to potential lack of opportunity based on if Kaminski comes back in when considering the general age of the team would be bizarre.
  13. You have been spending lots of time with Waggott.
  14. Needs goals, so we need to play Brereton. Also shouldn't move Rankin Costello.
  15. That is very true, I totally get the manager trying to reduce pressure on us but this idea that even finishing outside is a good season considering where we are doesnt really wash.
  16. Unforgivable is over the top, but we didn't last season yet think how we reacted then.
  17. I actually think the opposite, Kaminski was our best player for half a season but fresher in our memory were the few games he had wobbles in when carrying an injury.
  18. Think Tomasson said today that he should start training next week. With Dack training tomorrow and hopefully available for Coventry.
  19. What does that even mean? We needed a new pitch and surely with a bit of pride, we want the stadium not to be falling apart. If they genuinely spent as much as they possibly could, FFP allowing, then both of the above (not even included the attempted downgrading at Brockhall) would be sorted.
  20. For much of the season we really struggled to create chances, albeit that has improved in the last couple of months. We definitely need an experienced midfielder and a couple along the front including a proper goalscorer. I don't think a Graham type would be right for us though,
  21. Definitely a disappointment, I certainly would take no consolation in it being "year 1 of a project" if we mess it up having been in the top 6 for so long. Next season the team won't significantly change, aside from losing our main (and often only) goalscorer for free. We spent £4m ish net last summer, that was a generous window for Venkys so we aren't going to suddenly be a level up next season.
  22. They should realise that it "hasn't been a 3pm Saturday game for 30 years." What a bizarre reply to a post that couldn't have been any clearer in not being "negative" against the club.
  23. We obviously have a chance, we are 6th! With an admittedly difficult game in hand. I still can't fathom why @J*B thinks we wont win ANY of the last 5 games. We may not win enough, I get doubting that, but we are in with a chance. We need a minimum of 4 points from these upcoming 2 games, or obviously ideally 6. We have played 3 of the other teams in the top 6 this season and have won 2 of those, our home record is the second best in the league. Burnley is the obvious tough one but they should be champions on 100 points by then, not that we will get any favours. Hopefully Luton win enough between now and the penultimate game to have a play off berth sorted by then.
  24. Kaminski Rankin Costello Hyam S Wharton Pickering Travis Morton A Wharton Szmodics Brereton Dolan Subs: Pears, Carter, Garrett, Thomas, Hedges, Leonard, Brittain I feel like it is important to get more experience in the backline, we have been leaking goals lately and Carter has dipped, Wharton has not been at his best this season but was better in his more recent performances. Kaminski is a must. Thankfully no mention of anything regarding Brereton after leaving Huddersfield in a protective boot, there is a temptation to go more attacking with Szmodics behind Brereton and either Hedges or more likely Thomas on the right, but I feel like the midfield 3 really helped us. Definitely, 100% a must win.
  25. Why is this myth peddled that they invest as much as they can under FFP? The main 2 people defending Venkys today seem to be (as far as I know, apologies if not) people located away from Lancashire. They might not appreciate as much that the ground is not well maintained, that the pitch needed relaying and they refused to fund it and that there was a plan to downgrade the training facilities that thankfully was scuppered. None of that is FFP related yet funding hasn't been provided. Even regarding on the pitch matters, they are handicapping us. Our income is restricted due to allowing a CEO to continue despite constantly poor attendance figures. They override decisions on potential key sales massively hindering scope for reinvestment.
