  1. An average of less than a point a game and 0 wins with none of the games being against the top 6 is not good foundations for anything.
  2. Not good news for us. Even if he avoids injury, he needs a rest.
  3. Hard to judge on his time here, struggled for his first few cameos then put in a brilliant performance v Sheffield United and one or two other good cameos before injury. Has been very good for Sheffield Wednesday now hes getting a run of games. But wil probably want above minimum wage.
  4. They dont want to send money badly enough. I suspect those expecting a Wharton/Raya funded summer spending spree even of a few millions were beyond naive. The focus should solely be on Venkys, they have and always will be the issue of all of our problems. Focusing on Broughton or even someone as incompetent as Waggott is missing the point. And yet they still wont sell up so we will still suffer.
  5. @Mercer implied that he 'knew' that Broughton was on gardening leave in his cryptic way but stopped short of confirming as such despite being asked more than once.
  6. A direct rival below us in the league lost. That is better than them winning being supposedly offset by Boro being any less or more difficult at the weekend. The one thing that is in our favour and makes relegation still far from a foregone conclusion is the number of teams around us. From a mini league of 7, we only have to not be one of the 2 worst and that doesnt factor in a 3 point buffer over 2 of those teams (one with considerably worse goal difference) and a 2 point buffer over a further 2, and assumes that both Millwall and Swansea arent in it who themselves are only 2 points ahead of us. Not that I have any confidence of us not being one of the 2 worst teams. It will be interesting to see how many points are needed.
  7. Obviously was a short sighted move to sell him for a knock down fee, but I suspect he wouldnt be close to the keeper he now is had he not moved on to Brentford who unlike us had a proper structure in place to go up and where he benefitted from playing at the top level under well regarded coaches. For us, Kaminski was much more reliable and better for us, after a sad year of Walton. Now both of those keepers are playing in the Premier League and consistent with the rest of the squad under these owners, we have been left with inferior rubbish.
  8. Has there ever been a game where you have predicted anything other than a convincing win either way?
  9. In a home game against a Plymouth side with 4 points from 6 games, you cant just write it off as them being outstanding, it doesnt wash. If we cant beat them at home and are clinging on against wave after wave of attack, then we need to look at ourselves. The managers tactics (not only starting with 5 defenders, one being 37, but wanting them to play a high line and not changing it at the very least at half time when it clearly wasnt wotking) led to the red card so he doesnt deserve credit for clinging on when we lost a player to that.
  10. Armstrong appears to have become a more rounded player as he has aged. He has 11 assists and often plays from a wide position. I never fully was having the criticism of him being greedy in that last season, I dont think you can question someone too much who scores 28.
  11. A mixture of draws and losses are of little use to us, so probably not.
  12. Tomasson was really struggling for results prior to his departure too, Eustace also struggling doesn't make anyone silly if they questioned a man on a run of 2 points from 8 games. Although I think the vast, vast majority certainly on here could see that he wasn't the problem anyway. The owners are.
  13. Teams have had points deductions in some years.
  14. It would be yet more negligence to give the job to a total novice, especially upon relegation, just because he has been here a while and knows the players. Waggott ticks that criteria!
  15. Surprised? He had just struggled for game time at a loan spell for a team near the bottom of the French second division having before that struggled to get game time in the Austrian league. And no pressure? I think there is. If Boro away is a foregone conclusion, surely theres no pressure in the whole relegation scrap.
  16. Replacing our only bit of proper quality with a kid? Sounds like Venkys.
  17. He was awful. He wont be in their first team plans next season.
  18. That faith has predicted a total of 2 wins in 16 so he cant have that much.
  19. That is a frightening team. Has Chrisene ever played in central midfield? Not the best on the ball. And has O'Riordan ever played at full back? A big gangly centre back. I know that Buckley has started to show that perhaps he wasn't necessarily our heir to the Wharton throne but he has to be a more suitable player there than Chrisene, and I know you really cannot stomach Brittain (I am not his biggest fan, unsure if your dislike of him is more because you was so fond of Nyambe who himself wasnt particularly good) but he surely is a better option than sticking a young centre back there. Gilsenan seems to be getting more and more popular every week that he is not selected but I am wary of being too excited just because hes scored a few goals for the under 21s, Jack Vale and even Harry Leonard showed how big the gap in quality is. Deserves a spot on the bench over players like Telalovic though. Gallagher looked good when he came back into the team, his last 2 or 3 performances have been totally ineffective perhaps partly due to playing so much after injury, but mainly because of Eustace shoving him on the wing in a side that rarely attacks. He usually does well at Boro, I would play him up top rather than Szmodics who is best behind a striker.
  20. Im not convinced those players would do "very well" in League 1.
  21. Its only been mentioned because Eustace has clung onto it as a badge of honour in press conferences a few times. Clutching at straws. In 7 games we have only took the lead twice and obviously held on to neither.
  22. Havent got a win in 7 v non top 6 opposition but we have drawn a couple we went 1 down in. A serious new manager bounce.
