  1. Cut the superfan rubbish about giving him a chance etc, ill be there and I will give him or anyone a chance. But equally I will be annoyed because there are proven managers available and at least one has had an interview apparently. Ferguson is a total novice. Like I said, hopefully its another false rumour.
  2. 😂 such a 180 degree turn simply off the back of a rumour. 2 days ago, it was Carlos Carvahal's blue and white army. Now Farke (who was the flavour of the month initially) is being dismissed and criticised and a guy with 5 matches on his CV could be the stand out of 8 options.
  3. Mowbray's time here was not the unprecedented, abject failure that your agenda leads you to make out. It is possible for us to get an inferior manager, and someone who has managed 5 games in his career could indeed prove that.
  4. Hopefully its just gossip, hes not the first manager to suddenly be assumed as our next manager this week, the words "Carlos Carvahal's blue and white army" were uttered the other day! I would not be surprised but I would be annoyed and would rather even have Mowbray over him.
  5. But why is it? Its a massive expense and also a huge chunk of anyones free time to commit to a season ticket. If a manager is appointed that underwhelms people, why cant they turn round and say, im not willing to give up that time and money as a result.
  6. Always amazes me when people slag off others for not being willing to spend such a large amount and give up so much of their free time unconditionally. I have again renewed but am not arrogant enough to think I have the right to call others "pathetic" for not doing so. One thing on top of that, you say use your voice to get the manager out. That has never happened before, Venkys sit in India and couldnt care less what is being shouted at Ewood, they are oblivious. They even promised to come this season just gone and in the end they couldnt be arsed. I went on protest marches and chanted for Kean to go and it made no difference.
  7. Again, not only taking everything as gospel but backing up your comments by using Mercer's post as evidence! He has a track record of posting duff information on here, as you regularly state yourself.
  8. There are occasions when odds will suddenly tumble to odds on prior to an appointment but especially in a small market like our next manager, it doesnt take much/many bets to cause significant changes in odds. The other day, Wagner suddenly appeared quite high in the betting odds because someone on here asked for the odds. Today, Beale was at 12s presumably because of Nixons nonsense, hours later its reported that he isnt leaving. Ferguson would be a totally bizarre appointment. He is a total novice and that is not what we need at this time. Its not even as if hes gone to League 1 or League 2 and done well, it would be an unnecessary and probably cheap gamble when there are managers available with decent track records. Lazy comparisons can be made to rookies appointed years and years ago but I am solely looking at Ferguson. Hopefully he is not in the running and hasnt even been interviewed. The weaved pitch seems to be just the general yearly maintenance done despite last year Waggott saying that the pitch was getting relaid after 30 years only for the owners to change their mind and not pay for it. The work targeting the asian community is good but ultimately the overall attendances at the moment are poor oweing to fundamental failings on that side of things.
  9. You are looking at it with massive bias, not acknowledging that Mowbray ultimately was responsible for finishing 8th across the season, on the back of a summer whereby Venkys totally withheld any reinvestment of funds generated. You can't just put the first half of the season down as signs of progress across the whole club, but solely blame Mowbray for the way it ended. Across the season, we finished 8th, and Mowbray was the manager throughout. And before conversation is skewed, I am well aware that it was the way in which the season went that caused such frustration and I am glad that he has now gone. You touched upon progression throughout the whole club and how it operates, separate to how we did last season, but haven't explained what that progress is. You also didn't answer whether any underlying negativity as you call it is justified.
  10. Hopefully the odds mean nothing as is often the case, because he would be a terrible appointment in my opinion, and totally not what is needed. Although even when we lost games, many focused more on Mowbray's demeanour so regardless of results, at least hed be running up and down the touchline.
  11. Do you have any evidence or tangible signs of this plan, of this progress, of this ongoing work? Do you think based on the last 12 years that people are unjustified in being what you perceive to be negative?
  12. Of course not, and even if he was on a similar wage to others, I would doubt hat we have the competence to select him anyway. Was just saying that any supposed loyalty to Burnley would soon go if you put enough money in front of him, like the majority of people. Well not clearly, not every rumour is correct and maybe its just another instance of Nixon talking shite! In your desperation for gossip, you have even started today using Mercer as genuine evidence of certain things!
  13. If we put a contract in front of Dyche in excess of the money he was on at Burnley, he certainly wouldn't decline out of "respect" and through "loyalty" towards them, the only reason in that instance that he would decline is if he felt he could get better elsewhere. Obviously its a moot discussion as we won't do that, it will be on the cheap and probably not a decision with any logic, but lets be real.
  14. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/michael-beale-not-interested-aston-24093864 Goes against Nixon's latest gossip and Chaddy's assertion that he has already been interviewed.
  15. Some really underwhelming names being banded about, I have based on history under Venkys always been prepared for an underwhelming appointment likely based on frugality and an underappreciation as to the importance of a good mangaer. Villa's assistant manger would be not what we need, you can upload as many youtube interviews as you like, he is a total rookie and we need someone who has at least proven something as a manager. Carrick falls into the same category as does Ferguson who I think appeals to some because he runs around like a maniac on the sideline and people place too much importance on touchline demeanour for some reason. Throw in plenty of the usual wannabee ITK's arguing with each other and even a bit of hypocritical childish superfan nonsense and lets hope the appointment is made ASAP!
  16. The situations are totally incomparable. Carvalhal was at Sheffield Wednesday with far, far greater resources than Mowbray. And to clarify again, I am glad that Mowbray has gone and I would be reasonably happy with Carvalhal.
  17. I suspect that the quality will continue to decline with the gap between the Premier League and Championship growing and finances allowing the better Championship players to be swallowed up quickly. Fulham were miles better than everyone else. Bournemouth also had a very good squad and would have gone up more comfortably with a good manager. And im not too sure how the relegated sides will do but Burnley have lost their key asset in Dyche and Norwich come down with a lot of crap players.
  18. You proved with a solitary bet on Wagner the other day how meaningless those odds are.
  19. Its not a very good league in terms of quality hence why teams like Luton and Huddersfield made the play offs. Bruce is no tactical expert but he has a good record of promotions and with Swift signed, Dike back fit and potentially Wallace to come, im sure they fancy their chances.
  20. Conte is an excellent manager but no way will Spurs be a title contender. It will be between City and Liverpool who are a million miles away from the rest and will no doubt strengthen as City already have. Spurs have a couple of top players in Kane and Son, and in Bentancur, Kulusevski and Romero they have 3 good ones but even they wouldnt get in either of the top 2. Beyond thay they have so many players ranging from average to poor, they may offload some but still. Emerson, Doherty, Winks, Skipp, Moura, Hojberg, Rodon, Dier, Davies, Sessegnon etc.
  21. Surely a player signed who turns out to be not good enough is by that very nature a failed one.
  22. Now Mowbray is being accused of purposely allowing Damien Johnson (who for whatever reason has been assumed to be a coach far superior to the others at the club, why I am not too sure) to be promoted because that was seen to make Johnson seem more peripheral as a result, strengthening his own position in the process? Christ, I know his time was up and we needed a change but still the fascination on pinning everything on him continues! I think people seem to be jumping the gun on Carvalhal seeing as he seemingly is just one of a number of managers to be interviewed. Dyche is the obvious stand out candidate followed by Farke but beyond them and assuming that neither is realistic, then we are always going to be taking a small chance with whoever we appoint. Carvalhal at Sheffield Wednesday had plenty of resources and the job there and then compared to what he could potentially have here is totally different so to simply assume that because he got them into the play offs that he will get us into the play offs is massively flawed. He also rarely stays anywhere very long and his CV is far from perfect. Saying all that, he would likely be as good as we could realistically attract and there is certainly enough good on his CV to be fairly optimistic. Much depends on much if any of the Brereton money being available as anybody would struggle if it is nothing/a minimal amount like last summer.
  23. I think Gerrard needs to prove that he is capable of that sort of achievement. Im still unsure about him either way as a top manager.
