January Transfer Window.roversfan99 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I think he could get a move to the Premier League or at worst a club with parachute money.

January Transfer Window.roversfan99 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I don't get how Gyokeres would be a realistic signing. Even if Venkys allowed reinvestment of any Brereton sale proceeds which is unlikely, Gyokeres surely would have doubts about coming here.

Championship - 22-23roversfan99 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Because I don't know. Doesn't in any way reduce the validity of my opinion that Smith and in particular Appleton would be very lucky to merit continuing with their jobs.

v Norwich City (a) - 17/12/22roversfan99 replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I don't think we should just expect them to fill so many gaps all at the same time. If Batty as an individual (when fit) is deemed to be capable of performing well at Championship level now, then fine, otherwise we need to look to sign another left back. It shouldn't just be a case of, we are a player short in x position, expect a kid to fill in.

Yep, typical response. No empathy for anyone with potential inconveniences that he doesn't. Also the fact that games in general have been moved for TV historically doesn't mean that is fair or even unfixable to be arrange with the current lack of thought towards match going fans.

Obviously like anyone would Argentina do have a reliance on Messi and I do think there are perhaps on paper better squads than theirs but they do have some good other players. Alvarez is a real talent up front and a quality signing by Man City, Enzo Fernandez deservedly won young player of the tournament, Di Maria is still someone that is playing at a high level, Romero and a surprisingly often unused Lisandro Martinez are 2 of the best centre backs in the Premier League, Mac Allister has always caught the eye for Brighton, Emiliano Martinez is a very good keeper and Rodrigo De Paul is another good player playing at a high level.

v Norwich City (a) - 17/12/22roversfan99 replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I wouldnt play an attacking player there but I dont necessarily think that the answer for the here and now is in the academy. Edun is hopeless and as poor a defensive full back as I can remember. Not convinced that Mola is much better either.

Championship - 22-23roversfan99 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Not a clue. I can judge whether I think a manager should be sacked without a list of potential replacements. I dont get why Richardson would walk into another Championship job.

@roverandout I thought you wasnt watching?

v Norwich City (a) - 17/12/22roversfan99 replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Batty has a bad injury but even if he didnt, it can be dangerous to be too expectant on the academy by filling numerous spaces with untested kids.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachroversfan99 replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Phillips isnt a direct replacement for a player 15 years or so his senior. He also has struggled when he has played, maybe he should be loaned out for the second half of the season.

Its not about just you and how you are affected. My point about away games was that others who do attend WILL be affected. That last quote sums your lack of empathy up to a tee. As long as you are ok.

Absolutely fantastic match and brilliant end to a very entertaining World Cup.

Championship - 22-23roversfan99 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Martin isnt a particularly good manager, passing for passings sake above results. Would be a sentimental choice. 5th for most teams would not be something to consider the sack over, but Norwich have parachute money.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachroversfan99 replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Id say Lenihan was a warrior, braver and would stick his head in much more willingly than Hyam. But more rash and didnt read the game as well. Lenihan was also better at winning headers in his own box, Hyam more adept at doing what he kept doing tonight and snuffing out danger on the floor ie closing space for attackers.

Its not about notice, and I doubt many neutrals desperately want to watch us. You seemingly have no care for basically all of our games being moved to less convenient times, especially for away games in which you seldom attend so with a lack of empathy dont care about away fans, think what time they will be back today. There should also be a spread of teams.

January Transfer Window.roversfan99 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Promotion has a less than 50% chance, but either way, it is incredibly risky to retain assets worth even £8.4m that only retain value on a less than 50% chance of promotion.
-
Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachroversfan99 replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I would say that Hyam is less of a warrior but he reads the game well and is very calm and controlled. As I said, the one summer signing of 6 that can definitely be seen as a successful one as we judge today.

Championship - 22-23roversfan99 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard He is a crap manager and a strange appointment. Blackpool would be best served getting rid. Smith has had plenty of time at Norwich, think a change is needed there too.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachroversfan99 replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Even if Brittain is one of the best right backs in the league, to which there is not much evidence to me, he will have spent half of his first season unavailable. He is steady enough and I am not saying that he is a bad player or anything, but it is hard to call him a success as it stands. Hyam is the stand out, better than Van Hecke? Perhaps not but a shrewd addition and by far the pick of the summer deals. Overall, a fairly underwhelming window all told IMO.

Perhaps a cap of 2 Sky games every month, or no more than 2 games every (for example) 8 to minimise disruption to individual sets of fans. Football should be about the fans but Sky take the piss, they literally just repeatedly show whoever is in the top 3 or 4 repeatedly.

January Transfer Window.roversfan99 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Is one solitary season of Brereton worth more than £8.4m (minimum) to us? I can't possibly fathom that, unless we get an unlikely promotion. We bid for Thomas Asante, we didn't merely scout him, Salford had received a bid. I think that we went for Hirst when that deal didn't materialise.

v Norwich City (a) - 17/12/22roversfan99 replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Really good result tonight, Norwich were really poor and you can understand the frustration towards Smith, but We just look so much more balanced with that formation and with no obsession over naive playing it out from the back, and we were really good off the ball throughout. The key is Tomasson not being tempted to revert to type with the playing it out from the back and stupid experiments like inverted wing backs, On the ball, we have to be much better in attack though, we wasted so many chances to create a shooting opportunity with a bad final pass or decision. Hyam deserved the man of the match award, he was brilliant as was Ayala although he obviously succumbed to another injury with Wharton a very shaky sub. Both full backs were also very good, special praise for Rankin Costello who has come from the wilderness to put in a very assured performance. Kaminski came to our rescue when needed. Buckley was superb in the first half although he waned in the second and was as guilty as anyone of poor decision making in attack, summed up when he overhit his pass after a sublime backheel by Dack who is a class above Szmodics and pressed as much as anyone. Morton gave the ball away a few times (one in particular nearly cost us in the first half) and can't play on the half turn, he is actually better at reading danger than in possession and it is little wonder that him and Travis sitting when we play it out from the back is so bad. Dolan like anyone often chose the wrong decision but he was more effective than Gallagher and Brereton who can play much better, especially the latter. Also, it showed up the lack if quality in the league that those 2 teams are in the play offs.

v Norwich City (a) - 17/12/22roversfan99 replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Good away performance so far, Buckley and Ayala standing out. Very good team performance off the ball, not very good on it. Morton nearly gifted them another goal, he often takes too long in silly areas. Will be a different game in the second half, we need to be better on the ball otherwise they will score at least 1.
