  1. If you had full, unreserved faith in the readiness of Burns, McBride, Butterworth and Vale to be capable of playing Championship football now, then as pointed out, you wouldnt have had any desire to bring in another forward before the deadline.
  2. Would you be able to ask please about specifically what happened in the transfer window please, was it a case of having a budget and not getting a deal over the line, and if so, can the budget be specified? I think not the last winter window but the one before, Waggott said that 1.2m/1.4m (cant 100% remember) went unspent that window from the budget. Might give us some transparency on how much if anything was left over. Could you also reiterate the point please on the slowness on the concourses and suggest the ideas of pre preparing drinks and also fully utilising the bottle bars, maybe even some sort of bars outside to help to reduce queue sizes.
  3. Was a little similar to what happened numerous times last season when Rovers had plenty of the ball in the opponents half yet never threatened.
  4. Did we really threaten and create many clear cut chances? Mount again was anonymous, Grealish and Sterling didnt create much if anything either. Sometimes you have to look at yourself, and our attacking players were very quiet, its easy to blame the ref for your own failings but we didnt create enough to guarantee the win today. The manager was also wrong in my opinion to not freshen things up. Poland are pretty poor too, one obvious world class player aside, they showed in the Euros that they are not a brilliant team so dropped points is poor although unlikely to matter from a qualifying perspective.
  5. Not enough attacking spark with Grealish always looking for fouls and Mount again anonymous, and no proactivity again from Southgate to make any subs. A point was fair. Poland showed at the Euros that they are poor bar one player but we cant just blame the ref or external factors, we didnt play very well.
  6. Because Gallagher is average at best, Brereton is average at best, and the rest are totally unproven really. Dolan is still very raw and I dont think his end product and decision making are very good, and all of the others are totally unproven. Surely its self explanatory. We needed to buy someone but all the money from Armstrong has vanished.
  7. I doubt they will get much if any game time. I suspect the main 5 for the front 3 places will be Brereton, Gallagher, Dolan, Poveda and Khadra, a depreessingly blunt group, with Butterworth ahead of the 2 mentioned, and I also think that Buckley, Rankin Costello or Rothwell would play in the front 3 ahead of those mentioned, that a change of shape would happen or even Butterworth would play who is ahead of the 2 mentioned. They should have been loaned out really.
  8. Of course, but it is hard not to be worried when the majority of our attacking ranks are novices in the senior game.
  9. Seems like at the moment, the situation will prevent not only Brereton but a number of players including Alisson, Firmino and Thiago Silva from playing at the weekend. "Reda Khadra having lacked game-time over the summer and unlikely to feature just yet" was the line according to the LT today, plus he has been injured. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19565739.decisions-facing-tony-mowbray-blackburn-rovers-return-action/ Your list is a really sorry list of players, the last 4 have never started a senior game between them, Gallagher is very average and Dolan couldn't finish his tea. Poveda is an unknown too. It is a bottom 3 attack.
  10. A bit of context, he struggled to establish himself on loan at Rochdale. I am not sure that anything can really be taken from a game against Bulgaria's under 21s.
  11. Seems like Brereton will miss the next 2 games, this Chile business is going to be a real hindrance to us with further international breaks to come. With Khadra seemingly one of 3 of our signings unfit at the moment and Chapman no longer here, we will be really light on attacking options at the weekend.
  12. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19563280.details-blackburn-rovers-behind-closed-doors-friendly/ They played in a behind closed doors friendly apparently.
  13. Much of what people will hear via chinese whispers will not be true. You have just seen someone in another thread suggest that they have heard that Neil wasnt approached. Its just gossip and rumours and I am still unsure as to why you think specifically that the manager could be replaced during the next international break, and whether results beforehand will make a difference to that.
  14. You base your theories upon gossip, chinese whispers, cryptic responses to Alan Nixon tweets and now bizarrely a focus on the post match interview of a game about 6 months ago which is fine. But why the next international break? And would results prior to that make any difference?
  15. Not really. And FFP is not a blanket excuse for how they have been operated. Excellent is a very hyperbolic description and this summers extreme stripping back was not necessary to that degree for FFP purposes.
  16. To be honest, im not really interested in guessing at potential conspiracy theories based on snippets of unproven gossip. This isnt the first summer in which our negligent owners have banked in major sales without allowing us enough to be reinvested to stay competitive. Its also not the first time to which we have been regressing and have needed a managerial change that they have seemed ignorant to. I dont think that Venkys had planned to sack Mowbray, got knocked back by a couple of people, so decided to stick with Mowbray albeit with a limited budget. I also dont think that Neil has ever been close to being appointed.
  17. All these theories about Venkys planning to sack him in the past, that budgets have been cut because they dont trust him, that he is on rocky ground etc all seem like unfounded conspiracies to me. I think there is a few people desperate to justify previous predictions of an imminent sacking. If Venkys genuinely dont trust Mowbray, removing any investment is not a constructive method or something that can be justified, it would be counter productive. I don't think that Venkys have a strong enough interest in our football club to have such a strong opinion on Mowbray, but if they do, there is no justifying keeping him on.
  18. I was just trying to understand the exact aim, I am not pouring cold water over it. Is the aim merely to get some transparency, to find out who decides on the managers future, on who is responsible for the inability to get in a striker, to find out how much money we had, who speaks to other teams etc? Just purely to get some questions and keep communication up? Or is it more hostile, is the aim to try and get some or all of the management team out? Press releases, meetings and protests, in which case, shouldn't they be aimed to pressure the owners who can sack these people rather than directly at them? Or is the aim not necessarily to cause them to lose their job but just to feel uncomfortable, and as you say HowieFive0, "squirm?" Shouldn't the targets be those in India? If so, is that even possible?
  19. @RoversClitheroe would you be able to answer my questions please regarding the objective of your plan?
  20. There isnt a game until next Saturday though, aside from a few snippets about the signings, would it be normal for the manager to do an interview in the first week of an international break? You say similar on a continuous basis. A stopped clock and all that...
  21. I would have let Johnson go but to be honest, there is a strong case to get him into the team next Saturday. In these last few games, there has been a whole lot of nothingness in our midfield, Buckley, Clarkson and Rothwell all repeatedly ineffective, with Travis trying (and obviously struggling) to get a grip of the midfield in those games. Johnson would bring some physicality and experience.
  22. Another new one. Seems our new signing Edun is a bit of a deep completions expert.
  23. If that was the case, Mowbray would have long since been sacked.
  24. I am still unclear on the aim. Is it to hold the 4 to account for reasons for their incompetence purely from a transparency point of view, with a view for them to carry on and learn from the mistakes that they have made? And look for solutions working with them? Is it to hold them responsible with a view that they all resign? Which wouldnt happen surely. Or is it with a view to hold them responsible to the point whereby the fact that they are not doing a good enough job is highlighted, which id agree with, in which case surely the owners should be the target? The issue is in India. I admire the motivation and passion but just a little confused by the aim and direction.
  25. My main worry aside from Mowbray and his weird tactics is a lack of goals in the team and that a bad run will likely be never too far away, and then its a very young side with little experience. I probably would suggest that as he was clearly under the impression that we was going to buy a striker, that it wasnt a case of him choosing to loan wide men over central strikers. There are certain loans such as Butterworth and maybe Magloire (he has always appeared so far out of his depth but we just needed bodies) that I can understand why we held off with whilst we waited for bodies coming in. Even McBride now may be needed although I doubt it. It is the ones like Vale, Garrett and Pike that are the strangest in that none are close to the first team.
