  1. His accuracy has been off a few times. He said we wanted Gassama about 2 days before he went to Rangers. Also said that Pye was our alternative to Kapuadi. Not convinced we were serious about Miyoshi either.
  2. I dont get the suggestion that a midfielder is a priority whereas a striker is just a bonus. We need another striker far more than a midfielder, although I think we need both. If Pears goes, we need another keeper.
  3. I dont think anyone has said that Dolan is likely to do well in Spain. Or certainly didnt when he joined. But he certainly has already proven wrong anybnaysayers who had him down for a Nyambe esque League 1 spell and felt like he had allowed his and his agents egos to get in the way of the correct career move. Its a fantastic move for him.
  4. Brittain £3m. Travis £3m. Buckley and JRC an extra £1m each.
  5. Dolan had at least proven himself to be a good Championship player. Buckley hasnt done that. The type of player whose style makes him look graceful and elegant, but when you watch him for a bit, you realise hes not very good.
  6. We were always supposed to be getting a right winger anyway. Anything beyond that is just speculation at this stage. But sales of Brittain, Travis and Buckley will cover the purchases. As much as they claim it makes no difference.
  7. To be fair, I dont think anyone expected him to do well in La Liga. Its more that some were trying to suggest that he had ideas beyond his station and should have accepted our poor offer, especially as he didnt accept something straight away.
  8. I get that he is a bit of a cock. But did Martin do something or say something about/ahead of a game against us? Seems to have a very specific dislike on here!
  9. Doing that last week certainly didnt see out a win!
  10. It was a Polish journalist who had reported that he has said goodbye to his team mates and is over here finalising the move.
  11. People keep suggesting 3 at the back, whether the squad is more suited or not, theres absolutely no sign of us doing so. We could play the same with De Neve at left wing back if that was an intention.
  12. Yes, post Hull. He was working on Friday. But either way, for the local paper to not report a signing 2 days on is piss poor. As is the standard of the articles in general. So many errors.
  13. It happened on a Friday so plenty of time since. But I think they have done before.
  14. He said it in the extended BBC Lancashire interview post match on BBC sounds. And you are skirting around the fact that only one player has signed a new deal in 2 years. Im guessing you think thats acceptable. These new signings come from lesser leagues where wages are far lower. Doesnt explain why there is no article about a new signing 2 days on or why the articles are full of errors. They also employ other journalists for when he isnt working.
  15. I think they do. Doesnt explain the lack of article about a new signing though!
  16. The Japanese winger news doesnt seem to have been picked up by local media yet. The LT hasnt even written a story confirming a signing we made 2 days ago. On top of the constant errors throughout each article, it really is poor. I wouldnt be surprised if this winger is our last signing, unless someone like Hyam goes. The likes of Buckley, Pears and Leonard, they may justify as not being first teamers anyway. And Travis replaced by Baradji.
  17. Im not on about rumours. Im saying that we have said publically that Travis has let the team down but not remotely said how he has done so. If the manager is going to say that, at least be specific. Do you think that leaking information through an anonymous twitter account and altering minutes from meetings with fans are examples of good communication? And on the wages thing, come on chaddy. Why havent any players signed new deals (bar Ribeiro) in 2 years now? We clearly arent offering competitive wages and you are just being awkward for the sake of it. If thats not a problem then I dont know what is.
  18. Players obviously like playing for Eustace because hes a very good Championship manager and a But he doesnt have this gravitational pull to the extent that people make out. Money and challenging for promotion will out rank that. Ipswich wont let him go anyway.
  19. In such situations, people usually say gave him a pre season. There is no sign that anything is coming together, that they know what they are supposed to be doing, that they can do what they are being asked or that they are even playing for him.
  20. I never even said that they should sack him. The idea of him just automatically being given the season is a ridiculous suggestion. Theyve spent big money, if they are languishing near the bottom then I suspect (although we dont know what these owners will do having never been in this situation) they will probably pull the trigger, especially considering the money spent. I wouldnt be surprised to see Parkinson underachieve, his track record at this level is poor. Different story when youve got by far the best/one of the 2 best squads in a poor division.
  21. Again, doesnt have to be either or. They need both.
  22. I never said that they should sack him. Not yet. But the idea that he just gets the season regardless of results is ludicrious. In the lower leagues (along with Birmingham in League 1) they had a budget that meant that they had a team far above the quality of the rest so it was quite an easy job. Different job here, they do have a good squad that they are putting together but there are lots of similarly strong teams. He shouldnt just get a season at it purely on goodwill. I would personally sack Potter because hes been at West Ham for a bit now and there have been no signs that he is the man for the job. Watford were also correct IMO to sack Cleverley or at least justified. Their form in the second half of the season was the worst in the league.
  23. The thing is, no one has actually had the bollocks to say exactly what Travis is meant to have done wrong. Has he refused to play? He happily played the West Brom game and was on the bench against Bradford. It just plants seeds which is enough to turn some fans against the departing players. You are still naively thinking that Travis is leaving purely out a strong desire to work for Eustace again. Had we offered a proper wage to him then I am sure that he would have stayed. There is too much of a pattern but the club clearly dont want us to focus on that. There is a reason why we havent got any players to sign a new deal in so long. The irony is that Gestede himself refused to play to engineer a move when here. Your refusal to comment on the minutes add to mine and many others assumptions that you are incredibly reluctant to criticise the club. You are also very big on communication. You dismiss the unprofessional method of using a anonymous twitter handle to do so, and refuse to comment entirely on Suhail and co literally amending minutes as to what was said with fans to try and make the club look better.
  24. And you wish relegation upon anyone who sacks an underperforming manager. I never said that he should be sacked now. But if they continue to underperform, then just blindly giving him the season is absolutely ridiculous. Obviously its not your club because you wanted Ismael out after 7 games.
  25. Its certainly not a perfect indicator as to how a player will do but its your best bet as to how the player has done to date. I have been criticised in the past for using it as a barometer. Reaction to Alebiousu from St Mirren fans was that he was excellent for them in his short time. Hull fans rated McLoughlin in the main. Kortrijk fans didnt rate De Neve at all and its hard to argue based on the very limited we have seen of all 3 that the first 2 wont be more successful than the latter. Hendriksson is perhaps an example of context too. GAIS fans loved him partly because of his personality but also he like basically all of our signings had been playing in a lesser league. He has looked off the pace so far but its very early days so hopefully he can adjust. I didnt really see any reaction to Baradji and Tavares but the news wasnt really picked up internationally and im guessing that neither club they came from is well supported.
