Kaminski had been excellent barring a couple of games right before he broke down with an injury he was carrying. People at the time seemed to only remember those 2 or 3 games when justifying keeping Pears in the team.

That implies that a manager is always right. He was wrong with that decision. For the majority of the time he picked Kaminski. Pears only came in when Kaminski got injured but he seemingly didnt want to rock the boat and put back in the far superior keeper when he was fit again.

I remember people trying to justify the decision to play Pears over Kaminski because he was "good with his feet." He isnt.

Decent would be a definite upgrade on Pears.

If he was decent then signing a new keeper wouldnt be suggested as a pressing need in the summer. All keepers make mistakes but he makes so many and its the quantity that continues to cost us. That being said, I have no doubt that he will be the number 1 next season.

That the summer transfer window is a totally different animal. Clubs unwilling to spend at the end of a January window in which teams are thinking more short term and Premier League clubs seldom spend much in that window. Therefore, more clubs very well may have been willing to bid in the summer, driving the price up.

Eustace was an employee. Ismael is an employee. Neither had/have any attachment beyond that. Eustace said and acted in that way to create a strong team spirit which he did and led to very good results. The only reason youd look back and say he was wrong to do that is if you feel jilted as if hes an ex lover. Im not sure changing the formation was the right thing to do although options were limited. They were 2 up, they were always going to sit in and protect it regardless of our formation.
