  1. I don't disagree, and it wasn't a great performance by us. We need a bit more steel and our best forwards back to have a chance in this league. I'm not convinced at all that Mowbray can do it, but my view is that we should give him this season and take it from there.
  2. Sam saved us, no doubt and shouldn't have been sacked, and when the mood took him his sides played some great stuff. BUT, I spent three quarters of the season being bored to death. I don't expect you to agree, but that's how I see it.
  3. Well we have our views, but I'd rather walk the dog than watch teams led by Warnock and O'Neil. And I don't have a dog.
  4. Well, a disappointing day, and we must improve soon, which means Dack, Brereton an one of the defenders returning. What an absolute shower Stoke were. Desperate.
  5. The midfield killed us today and sadly, with Buckley, we were playing with ten for large part. Subs did the job. Felt sorry for TM actually, he looked under a lot of pressure.
  6. There is no "exactly" the same and in football. There are so many variables at play, from one season to the next. This whole thread has been that Mowbray is some kind of idiot - or worse, when player recruitment, style of play and the potential to improve are there for all to see. I don't think we will make it, but as I said over the summer, TM deserves another season. I think the LT has it right here: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18940720.rovers-must-recognise-potential-norwich-defeat/
  7. And at the end of the season we can judge. I'm not overly optimistic, but the squad we have now is far better. Don't you think?
  8. I don't that's true. We have a far better squad and are playing a better brand of football IMHO!!
  9. Not really. Is the league weaker, or stronger? Did we have this amount of injuries? Are we better prepared for the remainder of the season. Lots of variables. And yes, as the saying goes, football is a game of opinions.
  10. Yes, that was my point Ace. Played the top teams and we're not there yet.
  11. We are a far better team than two years ago, and yes it's right to be frustrated, but we are improving and have some real talent on the pitch. So, it's one thing to be disappointed, it's another not to note where are we getting better, who've we've just played and some of the young players we have to come back. A bit of balance is called for. As ever.
  12. Let's see, end of the season. We've just played three of the top teams and not been far away.
  13. Is there a more depressing place to come after a Rovers' defeat? I think we have made significant progress in our general play and in our overall ability, and we can only hope that the returning players will improve our performances. However we are playing catch-up with the relegated teams and some better funded outfits than us. I think TM hasn't worked out how to turn promising performances against the better teams into points. If he does, we are looking at a good season: if not then there's a good discussion to be had.
  14. Fine margins of defeat against the top teams for us. Let's hope that a more settled team with the two or three tops players we have missing can make a difference.
  15. Norwich have defended well and picked us off on the break. They are a very good team, but we played okay in spells and with a bit of luck we could have been in front. I worry that they will go up a gear if they need to.
