  1. I think I’d go with this pretty much, except I’d go with Dolan over Hedges.
  2. I can’t make any predictions here. Don’t know what to expect at all. It’s quite exciting. Hopes: - We don’t play like a Mowbray team. I’d like a bit of intensity and purpose. - Edun instead of Pickering. - Vale gets some game time and continues his good pre-season form. - Dack’s still got it. Fears: - The back 4 or 5 defensively. We haven’t replaced Lenihan or Van Hecke and both had great seasons. Brittain seems like he will offer more attacking threat than Nyambe, but he’d have to going some to come near to Ryan defensively. - opening day injuries and/or suspensions. We’ve got both in us, and they could prove very problematic at present.
  3. Agree Chaddy. I also expect Phillips will get quite a few minutes this season, particularly if he doesn’t sign the deal on offer. We will play him to bump up his price.
  4. Ad free is marvellous! Subscription will be rolling over. 👍👍
  5. This season is the most difficult in living memory to predict. Anything could happen. 1. Where will Rovers finish ? I’m going to say 11th, though I may reassess this nearer to the weekend. I think we will do ok implementing JDT’s new style, but our lack of defensive reinforcements is a concern. We are considerably weaker at the back than last season as things stand. 2. Who will be the Rovers (official) Player Of The Season ? Gallagher. More in hope than expectation. Now or never. 3. Who do you think will be the breakout/breakthrough academy player this season ? (Let’s say under 23 at season start & fewer than 10 1st team appearances to be eligible) Adam Wharton 4. Who will win the Championship ? Watford 5. Where will Burnley finish ? Outside the playoffs 🤞🤞
  6. That’s the figure I heard we offered him. In my opinion it’s pathetic.
  7. Some good points. I know his partner was due to give birth soon so staying local might well have suited. Everyone laughed when Amari’i Bell went to Luton. That was meant to be a step down, and him “finding his level” as well.
  8. Our offer to him must have been absolutely dreadful. Can’t have been much movement our end on the “derisory” terms we started off with. Either that or something really out of the ordinary has gone on.
  9. Think this thread needs a bump to keep the Transfer one on track (some hope!) Very strange situation…
  10. Apparently we looked at him in January… might have failed Mowbray’s “Human Being Test” judging by some of those comments. Definitely the position that needs addressing most urgently. Not getting carried away til it’s confirmed though.
  11. A good question for Waggott… Did you offer Nyambe a higher wage than yours?
  12. Nyambe is younger than Travis, Wharton and Harry Chapman, but has played more games for Rovers than all those three combined. Very good amount of experience for his age and I think the injury prone label is very overplayed.
  13. I mentioned it because I’ve heard it from 2 people independently. One works in football, one in the media. Both were “I’ve heard that…” rather than anything really concrete. As time rumbles on it just gets me thinking there might be something to it.
  14. No clue, I might work it out if I can be arsed. Judging by the improved points total when he does play, I reckon it’s more.
  15. Obviously not hearing it from the morons directly, of their stooges. Purely rumour I’ve heard, no attempt to dress it up as anything more.
  16. Stats from last season as of 1st May… When Nyambe is on the pitch we concede a goal on average every 109 minutes. When Nyambe is off the pitch we concede a goal on average every 60 minutes. Goals conceded with Nyambe - 23* Goals conceded without Nyambe - 26 Nyambe has played 62% of total minutes this season *This includes 7 in one game against Fulham In the 21 games where Nyambe has played the full 90 minutes we have taken 38 points. In the other 24 games we have taken 28 points. Clean sheets with Nyambe - 11 Clean sheets without Nyambe - 1
  17. Heard whispers from a couple of places now that Venky’s have decided that enough is enough in terms of subsidising monthly losses, and the cheques won’t be coming. The lack of transfer activity, sub par contract offers and shite ticket pricing do nothing to dispel my fears this may be true. A desperate, doomed to fail attempt to balance the books? If this is true, they might as well just fuck off now.
  18. The only thing it shows is that Wigan are offering more than us for a player we would “love to keep” and offered “the best deal we could”.
  19. Since Venky’s decided to freeze out Salgado, we’ve made numerous attempts to solve the problem right back position. Only one has worked. Bradley Orr, Jason Lowe, Adam Henley, Bruno Ribeiro, Todd Kane, Ben Marshall, Elliott Bennett, Paul Caddis, Joe Rankin-Costello, Deyovaisio Zeefuik… Nyambe has been the one shining light in a sea of disappointment, wingers of varying quality, and utter shite. Easily replaceable? Really?
  20. I don’t know where this idea that staying at Rovers is ambitious has come from all of a sudden? The usual empty words about “projects” and “journeys” and “wanting to get promoted to the premier league” are never backed up by anything remotely resembling ambition.
  21. If the money was anything like the same, absolutely. But it begs the question how much they are willing to pay him, or more importantly how little we were willing to offer.
  22. Not a lot of difference between the average wage per player. We will have more younger players, but all theirs have probably got a rise after promotion.
