  1. Yep... A lot of depends on how this weekend goes first, but essentially we'll be cheering on the Draw most likely in that match, or a Boro win (if they don't win this weekend). If Coventry win it, then we cannot catch them.
  2. Well, here are the permutations needed as far as I can see. Bookies suggest 25/1 shot so about 4 in 100 - can't be bothered working out my own odds, but will do so if we're still in the hunt next week.
  3. This is what I am expecting too - we'll renew Hedges, and others who should be squad players at best, but balls it up for Brittain, Tronstad, Travis. If we could get contracts over the line, the core of this team is decent. Travis and Tronstad together are a great centre midfield pairing in this league. Brittain and Ribiero are top quality full backs in this league. We have top half centre backs in Hyam, Carter, Batth, Wharton. Ohashi has proven himself to be a quality goalscorer in this league and Dolan is comfortably a top half Championship player despite what many say on here. Our issue is and has been for a few years 1) depth - as shown again when the January injuries hit and the clowns thought the likes of Forshaw would suffice and 2) quality wingers / strikers - as shown by the number of appearances we've had to get out of Hedges this season. As always, if we just spent £10m of the Wharton + Szmodics + Raya + Phillips money (it doesn't even need to be on the level of Coventry with Gyokeres and Hamer) for a proven winger, goal scorer and centre midfield depth and played Toth instead of Pears then I'd have no doubt we'd be in the Top 6 right now.
  4. These two look miles behind the 3 who were promoted last season, and look how much they’ve got battered every week against the big boys. The gulf is huge between the two leagues now.
  5. We have to win both games to have a chance (fact) as 4 points doesn’t reach Bristol City and only matches Coventry if they lose two (but one would be to Boro would also match our points with better GD). If we do win both games then it makes no difference to us if Coventry draw or lose vs Luton as we’ll need them to either draw (we’d be guaranteed better GD) vs Boro or lose to Boro. So 12:30pm Saturday Luton vs Coventry, no difference to us if they draw (go to 67 points) or lose (stay on 66 points). Ideally Boro would then lose as they’d still have something to play for vs Coventry on the final game, but we’d be above them. Fun to still have a chance, but I constantly said it would be sub-70 points needed and it’s infuriating that we’re not cemented in 5th place (although West Brom fans probably feel the same).
  6. It wouldn’t be a shock after that if we’re 2 points behind Bristol City and 1 behind Coventry. Coventry vs Boro last game of the season too
  7. Incredible how he’s managed to de-rail that promotion push so efficiently.
  8. Fuck me if this stays the same then a win for us at home to Watford and Leeds beating Bristol City in Leeds next week (both likely) means we have a chance going into the final game. Obviously we’ll still probably need multiple results to go our way. About as Blackburn Rovers as it gets
  9. “Confidence was absolutely waning when Ismael took over as proved by the poor results and performances” That was the quote that was being replied to. We won 3 in 5 including a big away win at West Brom with the players celebrating with fans and sat in the Top 6 - they certainly should not have been low on confidence, and if they were they’re mentally weak.
  10. Pencil us in for needing a 3 Point and 8 GD swing on the last day of the season, but ending 8th as the other teams win, and we rue another year.
  11. Pleased with underlying frustrations. Like 3 of the last 4 seasons really (more frustration than pleasure for sure)
  12. They’ll probably do a Huddersfield and put a complete reserve team out to be fair. Still wouldn’t fancy our chances to beat them though.
  13. It's actually horrible to look at. All we had to do was beat Cardiff at home (who have only won once in 8 games - obviously against us) and we'd still be in the conversation. Knowing us we'll win the next 3 and go into the final day with a 1% chance if about 5 results went our way
  14. I never understand referees who wait until an attack ends to blow the whistle. You blow the whistle the exact second that the time suggests on your watch, and I’m 99.9% sure that was not the moment the ball landed in Toths hands then. It’s not just the referees that are pathetic, but they have a complete free ride, never held to account by anyone in their circles.
  15. Great work if you get Shearer and Sutton onboard
  16. Wharton, Rice, Bellingham trio please and our local lad will be coming home with a medal
  17. Mowbray doing Mowbray things at West Brom. Still looks a genius next to this guy
  18. It was the interview before the game on Sky. Said that ‘performances are getting better’ or to that tune anyway. Said there is a plan at the club which is focused on the academy - all the usual fluff.
  19. It’s probably not far off being mathematically impossible. We’re 11 points clear (12 really with GD)with 15 points up for grabs, but also 11 teams are below us who all will play each other so they can’t all pick up maximum points. I’d be surprised if it’s not mathematically impossible already, or at least in a weeks time
  20. I think it came from Glen - unlikely we’ll hear anything from the club. Also million to one Gestede would pot him after coming on tele last game and saying it’s a grand master plan and performances are getting better.
  21. 6th place on 60 points with 5 games to go. What an opportunity we threw away in January. It will be less than 70 needed for the playoffs and we decided to not back Eustace, let him walk, hire what appears to be the most incompetent man in football and then never win a match again.
  22. I know it’s not right to tell fans what to do regarding attendance / boycott etc. But I really cannot comprehend how anyone is either still sat in that stadium now, or contemplating a season ticket. The only reason to still be there is to purely chant against Venkys, Suhail, Waggot and Gestede for the remainder of the match. No idea what anyone is getting out of sitting there in silence
