  1. Not far off 2000/1 for the FA Cup and Promotion double Merce…..you’re a believer! Just think of the cellar you could install!
  2. You’re right - there will be some tricky fixtures at Anfield and Etihad! 😁
  3. Those first few matches he looked unreal, it was the back-to-back 5-0 vs Wycombe and 4-0 away at Derby. I remember Colin Murray and guests waxing lyrical about him on that Championship show. There was a weird period over a season or so where he fell down the pecking order (don't think it was injury related, likely just Mowbray and sticking Gallagher on the wing). But there is no doubting he looked brilliant from day 1. I remember we laughing at the PNE forum at the time and they were having a meltdown over it.
  4. The xG gods would have had a field day with the "1-0 to the Arsenal" or the "Italian National Team in basically any era". It's a classic case of a decent stat which can remove bias and luck, but is far far over-used (and I say that as somewhat of a fan of it)
  5. We're not over-performing to chance creation, (our G and xG FOR are pretty similar), we're over-performing to xGA i.e. not conceding as many as some stats would suggest. However, we're a different team over the last 2 months to that prior, we're playing much better football, have a more balanced and settled 11 and certain players are really stepping up (some of which wouldn't make the squad 6 months ago). At the end of the day, xG only gets you so far. It's no surprise we have so many 1-0 wins this season. We take the lead, then we're a solid unit and in those games it's often the team chasing who 'wins on xG', doesn't matter to us as we are absorbing it with a lead and have players capable of a quick counter attack (see the goal vs Sheff Utd last week) Whilst, we rightly go into this as underdogs (can we do it on a snowy night in Stoke?), nobody on here would be surprised with 3 points, which should pretty much cement us for the playoffs with 10 games to go and 61 points.
  6. Extra 1.5k tickets at £25 a pop = £37.5k (assuming all adults and zero sold). They’d probably still scratch their head over it.
  7. Sky might come to our rescue and tip it towards going ahead (could it even move back to Saturday or Sunday instead if cancelled)
  8. A little digging on the Sheffield United site has the Bramall Lane Corner Upper Tier locked (same as the Away End next to it). Looks like this is where the additional allocation came for Spurs, so we may have the option to take it.
  9. Still hopeful it goes to general sale as I’m planning to fly over for this to keep the 100% FA cup attendance going. Friday and Saturday is just Half Season Tickets and 1875 members so shouldn’t make too much difference, but it sounds like we’re about 2/3rds sold now Didn’t sound like the option to increase to the Spurs allocation was available earlier in the week which seems odd if that is the whole stand.
  10. 3 wins, 4 draws, 4 defeats. Feels more realistic than 1 defeat across 11 which I’ve seen posted a few times. We have the 4th hardest run-in of the whole league (average position of teams in remaining fixtures) after Hull, Huddersfield and Reading. Watford, West Brom and Coventry have the 3 easiest.
  11. Stoke (A) = L Reading (H) = W Birmingham (A) = D Norwich (H) = L Huddersfield (A) = D Hull (H) = W Coventry (H) = D PNE (A) = W Burnley (H) = L Luton (H) = D Millwall (A) = L Total: 71 points and pocket radios at The Den If we beat Stoke on Friday then I can’t see anything but a Top 6 finish looking at the remaining fixtures.
  12. Still no news on prices, sale structure, allocation, transport etc. for the FA cup tie in less than 2 weeks time. On sale in the home end.
  13. Worth noting the playoff points tally right now is the lowest it’s been for years (I went back a few years and still haven’t found it as low as 55 points after 35 games, as well as 3rd being at a low on 60 too). For me 70 should do it for playoffs. 4 wins from 11 could genuinely do the job for us. In terms of predictions. I have us taking 15 more points and finishing on 73. Should be enough for 5th maybe.
  14. Not even sure why he’s smug, he’s failed everywhere he’s managed hasn’t he. Somehow got the Leeds job, albeit when they were a low point. Then got this job full of parachute payments out of nowhere. Best agent in the business Edit: just looked it up and won promotion with Barnsley from L1. Not a clue how he’s got a gig that would be odds on to be in the Prem in a year or two.
  15. They’re learning anyway…
  16. A Millwall and Swansea goal would be lovely right now
  17. Alex Neil will be absolutely loving this!
  18. In Prem watch… Jason Steele starting for Brighton today - also Joe Rothwell assist (I think it was just a corner)
  19. Whatever everyone’s opinion is, and the back and forth between now and Mowbray….we did go on a big undefeated run winning 4-0, 5-1 etc. battering teams. Perhaps the accurate sentence would be “We would never have played like we have recently under Mowbray, in the back end of the season” But anyway, let’s just enjoy what we’re witnessing. 3rd in the league, FA Cup QF, unbeaten in 11!
  20. Trav looking more like the box to box midfielder we saw in the opening few weeks. Starting to create stuff around the edge of the box. Can’t fault much at all today. Sit back and see how the rest get on now (likewise we can do that next week after a Friday night match)
  21. I think that is fair. And he had weeks with Travis or Buckley playing right back, Phillips playing CB and academy lads in CM. (I’ll admit I was critical in that mid-season lull) More settled team and wide wingers, and we’re looking like a proper 11
  22. I was a doubter - I didn’t think we’d hold on to the top 6 given our performances. But I don’t think we would have with those performances, the difference being we’re playing much much much better. Thomas has certainly made a difference, width, pace, determination and direct going forward. Also worth noting we were relying on the likes of Ash Phillips, Jake Garrett, Midfielders at right back etc for over a month. We have a style now, much more settled team, full of energy, full of confidence. Hats off to the manager for building this. We’ve looked entertaining to watch for a few months now after some drab performances pre-Xmas.
  23. ALLEZ ALLEZ ALLEZ OOOOOOO We’re a team that have bollocks now. Not sure if it’s JDT, if it’s someone like Hyam, if it’s someone tenacious like Thomas I don’t know but hats off to the lot of them. JDT’s Blue n White Army!
  24. Ah well, the red card against these chumps didn’t help last year. Let’s do it the hard way
