  1. I think the programme was good as it helped highlight the problem and helped people become more aware of the issue in football. A lot of last nights programme will have been edited and cut so you are guaranteed they have a hell of a lot more information about managers, players & their dodgy agents. The FA will already have all that info + lots more. Im sure Rovers are already aware of Andy Todd’s situation and I think he will get a cold reaction in training today from the other players. The agent involved (Harrison) needs to be banned pending further investigation. Clubs like Bolton, Chelsea & Pompey need to have a transfer block put on them until the findings have been accepted or rejected by the premier league. Last night about 85% of the programme was about Bolton, Sam Allardyce & his son – they must be very worried! His son even received payment during a period where he was banned from dealing with Bolton. Then later denied he ever received a payment when the BBC made a call to him. Also it is now no surprise that Allardyce didn’t get the England job. Also Chelsea must be worried following the offer made on camera of £150k over 3 years for the young lad at Boro. They already have 3 suspended points and the FA are also looking at their dealings with the young lads from Leeds. Im sure there will be plenty of Sam Allardyce songs around the terraces now.
  2. Eh??? Forget what we already have in season ticket sales. That’s already in the bank. It’s the extra that are being attracted that is the problem – but just to show you what I mean il show you below. Firstly 20,000 @ 17.50 = £350,000 – not 320k 18,000 @ £28 (a rough ave of price for sunday) = £504,000 But what im saying is - @ £17.50, rather than £28 you are going to get a hell of a lot more fans in the ground. If the price for an adult ticket was only £17.50 then without a doubt we could have got at least 25,000 on for that game – because for starters City would of sold there full 8000 tickets. So @ 25,000 it would be worth £437,500. So to start we are a total of £66,500 down – but there is an extra 6,597 at the game - spending money on pies, hotdogs, beer, programmes and club merchandise. You then also have a better atmosphere and a better feeling around the ground when there are more bums on seats. And that should hopefully help more fans want to come back to Ewood Park.
  3. Ok prices based on adults – Say we have 15,000 season ticket holders For the City game we then had 15,000 ST holders + 3,403 (city + few extra) = 18,403 so extra was 3,403 @ £28 (rough ave price) = £95,284 Now even if the new price (£17.50) only attracted an extra 2,100 onto what was there on Sunday it would make the attendance 20,503 and be worth an extra £96,250 on top of season ticket sales. Making a total of £1,034 extra in ticket sales alone to what was there. On top of that you have an extra 2100 people at the ground to purchase pies, hotdogs, alcohol & maybe club merchandise like programmes and kits. It also should create a better atmosphere and therefore entice more people to come back to ewood. Personally if the tickets were £17.50 for adults I think City would of sold out there 8000.
  4. I think our pricing structure should be changed. It should be set out different like below: Cat A = Teams that finished in top 6 last season (Or 7 if you were one of them) Cat B = Teams 7 – 14th from last season Cat C = 15th – 17th from last season + 3 new clubs. Pricing should be the same all over the ground. Adults A+ = £25 (6 games = £150) A = £22 (7 games = £154 based on us finishing 6th) B = £17.50 (6 games = £105) So total cost would be £409 Season ticket price set at £370 – Saving of a price of 1 Cat B game and 1 Cat A game. Aswell as 1 first cup match free in league cup. Kids prices should be 1st child ST = £70 If you purchase a 2nd child ST it should be a reduced rate = £60 3rd child £50 …… 4th child £40 and so on. Therefore for 1 adult & 2 kids it would cost you £500 a season. So based on the above prices Bolton Tickets would cost £22, City Tickets would of cost £17.50 – Now tell me we would of only had 18,000 on at that price. Not a chance. City would of sold there 8000 and we would of sold so more tickets.
  5. Yesterday there was only 1 player on our side that was showing what a captain is all about – and that was Robbie savage. He was rollicking Neill to sort the defence out and he was putting his footy in and leading by example While Nelson is out it should be, without doubt Robbie Savage.
  6. Next leg 3-1 Rovers. Rovers safely through. We are better than what you saw also
  7. I said at the beginning of the week that we would draw 1 and win 1 so im going to stick with my head on this one. 2-0 Rovers Our season started last night - The boys are back!!
  8. I think that the Captain should be a player who is full of commitment in a game. The captain should be a passionate and a committed player and he should be happy at the club that he plays for. He should be able to stick a few tackles in when the going gets tough and he should be able to rally his troops when their heads are down. Now Lucas Neill is a tough tackler, but I don’t believe he motivates the other players and also he isn’t committed to our club. For those reasons, whether or not we are trying to keep him, he shouldn’t be captain. He is arrogant and he obviously believes he is better than he is. Im very surprised we are letting him sit on his current deal with the risk of losing him for free as his wage demands for a defender of his level are pathetic. Better options for Captain in the current team would be Savage or Friedel, or maybe even Ooijer.
  9. According to the telegraph the top 4 performers were – Tugay & Savage 9, Ooijer & McCarthy 8. Says that it was by far Ooijer’s best game so far. Good result. 2-2 away from home, now we have the advantage we just need to finish the job.
  10. Confirmed in the Lancashire telegraph that he could be out for up to 4 months. Get well soon!
  11. Can you get eurosport on them digi box thingys that cost about £30?
  12. Live on Eurosport Eurosport saves the day
  13. Criticism isn’t really fair at this point of the season but im sure it will only wind our players up and make them more determined. Rover’s fans seem to only have a short term memory. We start bad almost every year so it’s nothing to worry about. Last season we won 1 in the first 6 games. Once we win a game then the team will be difficult to stop. We have talent all over the pitch and at the moment it is simply a lack of confidence that Is causing silly mistakes. 1 win will make all the difference. I expect that win to come against either Salzburg or City. After that it will be no looking back.
  14. 4 Penalties – Todds & Neill’s were never ever penalties. Zurab & Ooijers are dodgy as nobody else has had this rule imposed on them as yet. 2 sending offs – 1 was (Neill), 1 wasn’t. So out of 6 major decisions affecting us. 3 have been wrong, 2 have been dodgy and 1 has been spot on. No 1 likes us, we don’t care. (Well we do really)
  15. So from the ins & outs this summer we are about £3 million up id say. So stick it into the savings account until January. For now I feel that we have enough cover in all areas of the team and that if we need to strengthen again in January then we are in a position to. Im glad that we haven’t risked our money on the likes of that Norwegian fella, I think we should be monitoring his progress between now and January and see if he proves himself. No point us rushing into a deal as we don’t have money to throw away. I have 100% faith in Mark Hughes
  16. Welcome aboard Nonda. His record says one thing – If we can keep him fit then the lad will score goals. Remember a club like Monaco wouldn’t pay £13.5 million for a player with no talent. He could be a very astute loan signing by Mark Hughes Im looking forward to it! Compare last season - Bellamy, Dickov, Kuqi, Johnson, Gallagher To - McCarthy, Roberts, Nonda, Jeffers, Kuqi & Gallagher - I think its been improved!
  17. Brett Emerton has convinced me 100% that he deserves to be right back. He is good at going forward, he is good at defending and he is also not afraid to put his foot in. He also links up very well as a wing back with Bentley and they can be a very attacking ride sided combination. Also his distribution is good for a defender. For me he deserves his chance and I would be quite happy for Lucas to sit on the bench once all our defence is fully fit.
  18. Tugay is the heartbeat of our midfield and you will notice that when he returns. Against Sheff Utd id move Bentley to the left, Reid to the right & Tugs & Savage in midfield. Emerton was good again. Referee spoilt the game. Until then we looked ok.
  19. Well done to Jemal - his second winner in 3 games
  20. 2 - 1 Rovers Also nice odds for rovers at 6/1 just to win. 10/1 for a repeat of last years 1-0 scoreline
  21. £430 (2 people) from Coventry on 13th, returning 15th now!!!
  22. Manchester > Munich (Return) For 2 people, inlcuding tax = 249.88 Holidaygenie.com
  23. Its only 2km from the German border. Maybe a flight to somewhere in Germany could be an option? Munich is about 160km i think.
  24. How can we get there? what is it near to in Austria? Need to book flights!
  25. Dont think Reid was poor - think he did alright and looked strong in the 1st half, however he is obviously lacking a little bit of sharpness. Hughes has singled out Emerton for praise on the official site. And ticket details have been released for the Man City game - Category A
