We are in a mess. Financially, we've lost something like £15million / season on average since V's took over and IMO, never really threatened to get back to the PL. You say "Mowbray has put a proper football infrastructure in place, proper football recruitment and Scouting departments in place plus data analysis department" - well what feckin good has it done? YES, four years of mediocrity. As @J*Bposted: 24 game update: 18/19: 31 points, 8 off play offs 19/20: 36 points, 3 off play offs 20/21: 33 points, 7 off play offs (6th place also have game in hand) Statistics don't lie I know what i see with my eyes (maybe Mowbray needs to go to Specsavers) - some of our football is dire. IMO, Mowbray's stuff about being a possession based, progressive, attacking team is a myth, just bullsh1t for the owners and his band of happy clappers. Think Mowbray is right, we are on a journey - sadly, IMO a journey to nowhere at best and at worse, a drift downwards to the bottom of the sea bed Mowbray did get us up at 1st attempt from League 1 but he took us down in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mowbray said at Blues back in Feb 2019 that he was appointed to keep the club up in the Championship. HE FAILED. O'Neill and Warnock were appointed by Stoke and Middlesbrough last season to keep them in the Championship. THEY SUCCEEDED. Both clubs are now better placed in the Championship. No evolution or slow build there - they are good managers, far better than Mowbray IMO, who don't bullsh1t and GET RESULTS. We were the best reourced club in League 1 but, IMO, we unconvincingly limped home behind the mighty Wigan. Can I see progress, no, can I see performances, no, can I see results, no. If you think Mowbray is the answer then only God knows what the question is!!!

We might all as well give up hope then where Rovers are concerned. Think we are in a right feckin mess and only looking downwards. IMO, four years of sheer mediocrity and some utterly abysmal football. Sick of reading about the avuncular, honest, man of integrity Mowbray. Think he's only concerned about one thing and that's himself. Think hanging players out to dry is now common practice and the state of the pitch is now a God send for him. IMO, excuse, after excuse after excuse - TAKE SOME OWNERSHIP / RESPONSIBILITY MOWBRAY. Better still, just feck off.

Think we can all make our feelings known via @richsharpe89 @AndyBayes @PashaSapss - the more noise the better!

I think Gallagher fancied a coaching job at Rovers and it didn't materialise!

Sorry, I think you are wrong. As things are, after 4 years of Mowbray, I don't think we are that much better off than when he arrived. Make no mistake, IMO, we are regressing at a rapid rate of knots. In my eyes, Mowbray's credibility has gone - I think hanging out players to dry is becoming common practice and now he's latched on to the pitch. Well feck me, if, IMO, he hadn't been so profligate with the club's money, that pitch could have been relaid pre Christmas. Think of the money wasted on extended contracts for Hart and Smallwood, money spunked on Pears when we'd just signed the Greek lad who folk were raving about as a prospect and then the totally unnecessary signing of Downing. Think Mowbray is a self purported man of honesty, integrity - well, I don't buy it, IMO, it's about self preservation and number one!
-
It's saying something but I think Mowbray is becoming Keanesque in his excuses. I think it's one excuse after another. It's NEVER his fault. As Lincoln said “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” Fortunately, for Mowbray, fans are not in Ewood to vent their feelings. I honestly think the Mowbray situation is in danger of turning incredibly sour and he could soon rival Kean and Coyle in the 'hate stakes'.

I think Mowbray spouts utter bullsh1t. I think it's all about self preservation - excuse, after excuse, after excuse - IT'S NEVER HIS FAULT. A decent bloke, a man of integrity - not in my book. The day he goes, I will uncork one of my finest reds in celebration. -

Not in my book. Think he has always been an accident waiting to happen - a mistake in him every game. Think he might also be a sandwich short of a picnic! -
I think the only persons coming in for him would be the men in white coats!

Awful stuff. Downing's contract would have more than paid for a pitch relay!!!!! Chorley put us to shame. How far we have declined. -

Huge goal potential. More than 2.5 goals is a fantastic bet at 13/10. Get on it. -

Would not surprise me if we've paid a loan fee up front. There are different ways of doing loan deals in terms of loan fee / wage ratio. Much would depend on Norwich's short term needs. There's more than one way to skin a cat! -

The Future of Watching Rovers

If the likes of @Parsonblueare becoming 'disenfranchised' then Rovers' problems are even bigger than many of us feared. It's very true - when fans get out of the habit of going, it's almost irreversible. Sadly, I think the footballing product is, in the main, p1ss poor. We've already lost some 10,000 season ticket holders in years gone by and it's not difficult to envisage a situation where we plummet down to 3,000 or so when a degree of normality returns (especially with Waggot's, IMO, weird and not so wonderful pricing policy). If your product is so poor, your commercial revenues will also fall off the cliff. It's a huge double whammy. @toooldforthisreferred above to Mogga as a "Football Dinosaur" and Waggott as the "Businessman Dinosaur" who will kill-off our club. I think he's spot on - both are, IMO, third raters who, I would think, see this as the ultimate pension pot filler in an almost pressure free environment (I doubt they can believe their luck). Huge, huge changes are needed and I don't see them coming under Venky's. Sadly, IMO, Rovers might well have to rise from the ashes in the not too distant future. -

Great fixture for Rovers this. Playing a team out of form with lots of injury problems and who struggle so much to score goals (just 2 in last 6 league games) that even our defence will look mean and competent. Mowbray badly needs a win and I see a 'purple' performance coming up with Rovers winning by 3 or 4 goals to reignite our promotion push in the eyes of Mowbray and his merry band of happy clappers. At 23/20, this is one of those licence to print money games - fill yer boots. -

I think Makel had a much better football intelligence. Interestingly, he did clock up some 300 1st team appearances after leaving Rovers which I would be amazed if Buckley managed. -

Rich Sharpe @richsharpe89 Jarrad Branthwaite deal is done, as far as Tony Mowbray is concerned. "He has to duck to come through the door which is a good sign." Seems all but certain he'll start against Stoke City on Saturday. Either Mowbray now judges a player by his height or it's the new Rovers' medical! Some of us older ones will remember John O'Mara was also a big lad! -

Agreed. IMO, standard of 'local' commentators is very, very, very poor - listening to Gallagher, Bayes, Yardley and Lucy drives me mad. -

and so was John O'Mara! -
If we do lose the next three games, i expect something along the following from Mowbray: 'A season which started full of promise has been devastated by the impacts of Covid and our injury list. We are on a journey though and we'll continue to work through the remaining season to improve, strengthen where we need to in the summer and be ready to go again next season'.

If the likes of Antonsson, Ayala, Bell, Caddis, Douglas, Gladwin, Hart, Leutwiler, Pears, Samuel, Smallwoood, Walton, Whittingham are not too bad then God help us. -

or Downing! -
Okay, noted. Just a tad frustrated with @chaddyrovers He gives his absolute backing to Mowbray and that is his prerogative. All I've asked is one simple question ie under what circumstances would he sack Mowbray. I think Chaddy needs to either answer the question or state categorically he would never sack him and he's here until his contract runs out, or God forbid, a contract after that runs out! I think most posters try to rationalise their opinions and I think Chaddy should do the same. Will Rogers said there were three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves!

Signing the likes of Pickering makes good sense PROVIDING he's being signed to play and not sit on the bench for 3 months whilst he 'learns how we play and learns the position from Bell and Douglas'!!! Just turned 22 with a decent reputation, over six feet tall and close on 150 first team games to his name, sounds promising. I think it's clear he's being signed now as Douglas hasn't cut the mustard - in fact, IMO, he's proven to have been another poor and expensive signing. Sadly, much of our our summer business doesn't, IMO, seem clever when looking at Pears, Ayala, Downing and Trybull - a small fortune in wages and fees (transfer, loan and agents).
