  1. Past hour
  2. Don't think you're saying it early, most of us said it before he arrived.
  3. Who is? Brittain was 2nd in the league last season behind Bogle, maybe Roberts had a shout, but neither are in the league now. Van Ewijk is up there for sure. Young is 40, he probably wont even be a regular at Ipswich. No way is he better now. Pereira was better in the past but again his day has gone and he is mainly a sub. Roerslev hasnt shown he is better than Brittain either. He is working his way down the list now he has left.
  4. Quite right, my error ๐Ÿ™‚ no harm done
  5. Manager is out his depth, willing to receive criticism for it but Iโ€™ll say it early heโ€™s a poor manager. He will get given plenty of time (the lack of experience and time to โ€œgelโ€ and โ€œtransitionsโ€) will all be used as excuses for the struggles this season
  6. I think you're crediting them too much with something approximating to a plan there. He was a warm body still available and brought into the building at the last minute after Hyam left. Hyam hasnt been replaced like for like.
  7. I responded to what you wrote, not what you meant. What else could I respond to? I also said guessing or making things up, which if you meant what you wrote, were the only 2 options No offense intended
  8. The players we've signed won't be the reason we'll struggle, it will be down to the manager. I like most of our signing and think all will make an impact, bar De Neve.
  9. Almost like we are comparing 10k+ a week players to 3-5k a week players......
  10. If I was to nit pick, I would also say Henriksen is the replacement for Weimann, & Gudjohnsen is the replacement for Leonard (at least until Gueye gets sold to Turkey this week), rather than the other way around Edit, also De Neve for Beck
  11. I should have said experience (what I actually meant) rather than qualifications. I based my comment on the qualifications you posted from the clubโ€™s advert, then you highlighted the only qualification in that same advert that I think he is missing (experience) and say Iโ€™m making things up. Youโ€™re right that there are plenty of things to criticise Rovers for, and one of them is hiring people without experience in relevant roles. I think including Rhodes in that is just as fair as including Gestede and Pasha. I want to persistently make it clear that Iโ€™m not criticising Rhodes himself, as I have nothing against HIM. If he were involved in the coaching/scouting set-up, just as with Samba a few years ago, Iโ€™d be thrilled with one of my favourite Rovers being involved. Being appointed to this role in these circumstances and without experience just doesnโ€™t feel right to me. I equally donโ€™t understand how anyone can come to the conclusion he is an โ€˜excellentโ€™ appointment based on literally no experience in any post-playing role.
  12. Why is Nixon obsessed with Blackburn Rovers academy kids ? The non stories he puts out aren't even newsworthy and rarely something you see in regards to other clubs academies. Almost as if he is trying to draw attention to our kids for some reason.......
  13. Very true but don't forget where we were , when the Venkys arrived !
  14. I think the lad from Birmingham is JRC replacement. Youve got the wrong double barrelled name there.
  15. We cant be at all sure how good the window is until the players we bought have a decent run of games - probably till end of October. But the balance of probability based on the lack of Championship track record for any of them is from absolutely disastrous to surprisingly okay. So somewhere between 1/10 (massive downgrade) to 5/10 (just about maintained the overall quality) Its very unlikely we will have improved overall. But stranger things have happened in the Championship I suppose. We get the "fun" of finding out. We are ultimately comparing Gudjonsen vs Weiman McCloughlin vs Batth Miller vs Hyam Alebiouso vs Brittain Baradji vs Travis Morishita vs Dolan Henrickson vs Leonard Grady-Macken vs JRC Tavares vs Buckley Plus how Montgomery and Tyjon step up.
  16. Worth watching this documentary on BBC iPlayer - Craig Short prominently features (& Danny Murphyโ€ฆ๐Ÿ‘€) https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002d2kp
  17. Today
  18. I see the sense of humour bypass, worked.
  19. What makes you think itโ€™s an over exaggeration and we wonโ€™t go down?
  20. Perhaps the players have been told, that when playing away from Wembley, it is important to quieten the crowd.
  21. Substitute "where was", with "that is".
  22. I guess one of the differences now is not many top level players drop down the divisions towards the end of their careers. Larger squads, better fitness conditioning and, probably most importantly, the fact they are financially set up for life (if they are half-way sensible) before they reach 30 means they have no need to continue playing at a lower level. Presumably some do for the love of playing or to get into management as a player-manager. The days of teams like Rovers picking up a Frank Stapleton or Howard Kendall are largely gone.
  23. I've told you a million times, to stop exaggerating.
  24. Iโ€™d bite my own arms off for 21st
