  1. Past hour
  2. I had the same feeling when Tavares was signed and then we were linked with Baradji. I dont think that the original intention would have been that either of those two were brought in to sit on the bench, I reckon they were the Tronstad/Travis replacements but the situation was then complicated by Baradji's medical situation.
  3. A different Genk forward whose scoring record is about the same as Gudjonsson has signed for Wolves for 24m..
  4. I'm sure I saw on another thread that it's Jordan Rhodes coming in as a finishing coach
  5. As someone else pointed out the other day, Gestede highlighted/lauded Miller as a "centre back" in one of his self-absorbed LinkedIn posts. So it's all adding up.
  6. The owners will be delighted with this window. The objectives would have been: Reduce the wage bill βœ… Spend less than we bring in βœ… Reduce the average age of the squad βœ… Buy potential that we may be able to sell on for a profit βœ… Create pathways for players from the academy βœ… That is literally all the ambition is at the club these days. I don't think there's even a pretence anymore that we're trying to get back to the premier league. The only issue is that we haven't bought many players that are 'championship ready'. The majority are going to take months to get up to speed and even then it's inevitable some won't be good enough.
  7. No stress. We'll be alright (hopefully) it's the manager that concerns me more than the players tbh. Some managers just fit, this one just doesn't IMO.
  8. Somethings jist come back to me!..... What was the crptic post recently about a 'rovers legend' possibly returning? Was an explanation given for that? Because for some reason ive just had an image of MGP coming in in a coaching capacity of some sorts 🀷
  9. Could Wednesday's edition be that the Vs say "oh no we don't"...? πŸ˜‰ (thanks for keeping us up to date - feels like being a kid again waiting for next weeks installment or the new season of a show after a few months... 🀣)
  10. No, that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Now they've hit the last couple of hours of the window, it's all geared up for a Venkys classic: Sell Hyam Throw Hyam under the bus Speculate we had a great replacement lined up Make an excuse that we couldn't get it over the line on time Look again in January *January comes* - Do nothing
  11. Wrexham have just paid 6.5m for Ben Sheaf from Coventry. Meantime Guehi has been sold to Liverpool despite Glasner's objections so that's a British CB we won't be signing as a Hyam replacement..
  12. Even Wednesday are having a better deadline than us and Portsmouth are signing Connor Chaplin… nice
  13. Oh I didn’t mean it towards you pal, I’m just fed up and I feel that way mate.
  14. Planned? We could do nothing about it? (Thinking they have enough with Miller etc)
  15. Would love Hill back but I just don't see that one happening
  16. Unless the clubs loaning out take a hefty hit on wage contribution then the likes of those guys won't be coming here. Expect untested PL kids or unknowns from abroad (at best).
  17. Agreed, last season, although with Batth you've always got the gamble of "Is this the season where his legs finally go" etc. Would have been fine to retain both or retain Batth and upgrade on Hyam. IF Hyam goes that'd be the entire back line from last season wiped out. Beck/Hyam/Batth/Brittain. If Carlsberg did plans to get a Club relegated..........
  18. The club are lucky it’s Wrexham so they can use the narrative about Wrexham’s money, I don’t care it’s an absolute shambolic decision on deadline day.
  19. Ringing any bells from december during JDTs second season... Though i expect a back 3 with Miller Wharton and Pickering (provided Wharton doesn't pick up an injury in training)
  20. I think Hyam is a below average championship CB, but to sell him now with nothing lined up is lunacy
  21. Thread's hotter than an agent's phone..
  22. Instead, we're on the verge of having lost both of them. We're left with two injury-prone options and our 'experienced' Championship buy of the summer has just been sent off for a terrible call on his part.
  23. They would stick Miller there. Part of me wonders if that has always been the plan. Miller didnt sign here to sit on the bench. Montgomery to be used as back up right back and midfield.
  24. Should now be going all out for a cb and midfielder on loan/free I’d like to see us try for Browne and a returning James Hill.
  25. Bizarre that the away team for our 150 anniversary match will probably have more starts for Rovers than Rovers and their manager will have accrued more points for Rovers than our manager coach Wonder if David Lowe will be there...
