  1. Past hour
  2. I think he will have asked to leave to get consistent minutes and a settled future rather than having a potential bad season on loan and end up at a career dead end in 12 months. Makes sense all round.
  3. Yup, makes the striker links more realistic. Weโ€™ve likely agreed something with someone to allow Leonard to go. Interesting next few hoursโ€ฆ
  4. You should glue your coat to yourself so this doesn't happen again.
  5. Late to the party but I'm afraid there's a severe lack of class in these Les Field comments and it's things like this that make you wonder if they were in fact right to pot her............ For the club to be such a big part of your life (20 years?) you should have more respect for it... no matter how your time comes to an end. The fans don't need goading with petty "so glad we're out" comments from anyone. I'm all for Venky's out and bringing in a better board but the comments show a lack of intelligence. You'd expect better from a player liaison old enough to be their mum but maybe not from the academy players. I don't want to see another "glad we're out" comment. Focus on your next job and if there are issues at Rovers you know about and can voice, at least maintain some professionalism with it. Leonard going for 7 figures is a great sale, like Buckley both have talent but just weren't doing it for different reasons. I hope the club are able to bring a few more first team options in by Monday..... strikers need upgrading and I did want a better centre back. Interested to see what they can pull off!
  6. I hope he smashes it Didnโ€™t he also get chucked in the under 21โ€™s and told to find another club?
  7. Getting actual money for Leonard is unreal business. Also, come on who has put this on his Wikipedia? Its either someone on here or his Mum "Leonard is a marksman with an impressive eye for goal, with intricate movement and hold-up play. He is excellent at holding possession and playing with his back towards the goal. He does a lot of unselfish work and is technically efficient"
  8. I have a similar opinion to Mani on Leonard. The big if, is his body holding up to play most games in a 46 game season when he is first choice. There is definitely something to work with there. Loan would have been ideal, but as said above I suspect its not purely football reasons this one. Good luck to him, if his body holds up, by time he's 25/26 I could see him being a 10/15 goal a season man at this level.
  9. Ok but that's vague, I'm asking you what aspect of his game makes you think that?
  10. I think we can say with confidence that the 3000 or whatever minutes aim for Academy graduates is out the window this season. Travis, Buckley, JRC and Leonard all gone. Numerous players brought in from first teamers to squad fillers. It was going to be a stretch to reach it as it was before the summer trading. Tbc I'm not sad about it, it was always a stupid thing to have as a material target.
  11. My opinion. If he stays fit, he will be a far better player than either of our current incumbents. Which in itself is a red flagโ€ฆtime will tell.
  12. I am hearing he was involved in a row about one of the two female employee(s), who have left/ been edged out... BUT this is only hearsay....I wouldn't say it in a court of law, but it is an informal message board..
  13. I would have preferred a loan but if a loan hadnโ€™t gone well weโ€™d potentially be getting a lot less for him. I would hope for a decent sell on but as the fee is fairly decent for an unproven player with a history of injuries Iโ€™m guessing itโ€™s on the lower %.
  14. The good news from a psr perspective as it is considered pure profit from academy sales should leaves us way more wiggle room. Like with Wharton
  15. Sorry to see Harry go. Had high hopes for him but injuries seem to be an issue. I'm interested to know what the sell on % is. Pity we didn't put a buy back option in, just incase. I'm with others and think this one might sting down the line.
  16. Letโ€™s hope he doesnโ€™t fall out with the supporters of the Smit might hit the fan. Iโ€™ll get my coatโ€ฆ
  17. I think it probably does mean we've made a breakthrough. Probably agreed a fee or something along those lines for a new striker.
  18. The order is yet to be published so we donโ€™t know what (if anything) happened but itโ€™s listed to be in court again on Wednesday.
  19. We will - nobody can know for sure and the reason for thag for someone his age he picks up way too many injuries. And injuries at that age to your back lead into the hamstring I feel he will always be hampered with this
  20. Not for me, just a purely football/financial decision
  21. You'd like to think we're close to getting someone else in if we're letting Leonard go
  22. I think Leonard has potential, but I'm curious, what aspect of his game makes you think he has a 'VERY' high ceiling?
  23. Good signing for Peterborough, great move for the player, and decent money for us. Definitely could become a good championship striker if he stays injury free. The good news for us is that it very likely means we're close to bringing in a striker.
  24. Maybe youโ€™re right but I donโ€™t think a selling club should be operating like that. Surely itโ€™s in their interest to maximise the price they get.
