He was being talked about as the next City manager a couple of months ago. No chance he'd come here.

The NEW MANAGER thread is here folks…👀 *hint* -
He got a chance there after a good season with Leicester 2023. Before that pretty unknown.

Blackburn has been branded, the poorest town in the UK, if we don't start putting an unbeaten run together, it will also be branded, poorest team. -
How much do you think he was on at Chelsea?

Seen Barry Ferguson named a couple of times now and it’s actually not a bad idea. Took over a struggling Rangers side after Clement was sacked. At the time fans at war with the board. The kind of fiery manager who would demand 100% and can motivate the players. Cantwell would be benched and stripped of captaincy within a week.
-
What about Enzo Maresca? Out of our league or?

Great read in the Telegraph this morning. Jobi McAnuff on the mismanagement at Rovers from top to bottom. we need more articles like this to highlight what’s going on.

I know it won’t happen, but I would drop Cantwell. gudjohnsen Jørgensen - Ohashi - Morishita Tronstad - Baradji Pickering - Cashin - O Riordan - Alebiosu -
Likeable guy, says the right things. If he could grind out some results that’s all we need.
-
I'd rather have him in charge than a lot of the names mentioned that's for sure. He'll obviously be privy to the goings on behind the scenes though and would never agree to it full time.

Alebiosu surely has to play. I would also like to see Afolayan especially considering how ineffective Jorgensen looks. -
He has done a good job at Lincoln and if it my choice, he would be my first choice.

The January 2026 Transfer Window
chaddyrovers replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Thanks Gav. Well clearly some people missed me. 🤔 Im sure I will visit there shortly 😉 Exactly. We need a focus point/target man type of striker and we didnt get one. Dykes or Hardie would have been the ones to sign for us. -

Not sure he did tbh. He starting more frustrated with everything here. Think he had enough to be honest himself here Did he? We didnt have any better candidates, if so, who? -

Happy to see they even Chaddy can’t try to put a positive spin on that window. -
We're reminiscing aren't we about Tony's time here? So, ipso-facto those days have gone! I certainly haven't mentioned play-offs and next season. We might have a shot at the Div 1 playoffs I suppose......

A while back you said they were playing for him, do you now think he lost the dressing room? He made the wrong man captain amongst many other issues

Agreed it's not fair to try and push him into the hotseat if he doesn't really want it regardless of how the next few go. It would be fantastic if he could steer us away from the drop and stay on till summer but it's a massive task with this squad who lack so much quality if not desire. He did a good job as U23 boss and has obviously done a good job in the role hes in given the amount of young that have come through and held their own at various points. Hes a part of that process and long may it continue. -
That doesn't rule out Steve Kean.......
