Did a good job until we got promoted back to the Championship. After that an absolute disaster imo. Stagnation at a time when the owners still retained a bit of interest. We all knew they would give up and lose interest at some point and unfortunately Mowbray oversaw that. We could have done with someone ambitious like JDT or Eustace at the Club after we got promoted.

He himself said on Big Sam's podcast not that he turned down budgets but that he didnt feel like he could go banging on their door for more money. His own weird principles were counterproductive but this idea that he was turning down transfer funds is at best speculative. You are equally boring continiously referring back to Mowbray and Waggott and deflecting when discussing the owners who are very much a current problem. Maybe they were expecting to then get promoted again and he was just telling them that it wasnt realistic with a side that had been in League 1. You also said that "sources" told you that he turned down funding in the season we finished 8th. In that season he publically kicked off that he wasnt allowed to sacrifice a disinterested Rothwell to raise funds, and also in the summer that he wasnt allowed any of the Armstrong money. So quite the opposite, he wanted money and wasnt allowed it. You repeatedly rejected this and deflected the blame on what the owners were doing onto him.

The problem with Mowbray's "it isn't 1995 anymore" comments isn't that it wasn't true, it's that it distorted the reason many fans were unhappy. Nobody is expecting us to win the PL within the next few years or ever again. People just want to support a club with genuine ambition and decent, experienced people at the helm. His comments fuelled the "entitlement" narrative, which is nothing but gaslighting when it comes to the vast majority of the fan base.

That relegation was absolutely not on TM. The rot at the club was deep and almost irretrievable. He then did a lot of good work to pull various bits of the club back together, not least the relationship with the fans. However, did indeed undo a lot of that in his final couple of years, with the points almost mentioned.

What is the point of an 18 month deal? Can only mean he has signed a low-wage deal to put himself in window and find a better team, and we hope to flip him for a profit when we get relegated this summer.

Before rallying and winning the last couple of games when it was too late, we had a run of something like seven games without a win. He initially guided us to a position where we almost had our noses above water and he had ample opportunity to keep us up. Not ALL or even primarily his fault of course.
