Posted it in the other thread, but my biggest fear is more links to guys like Luis Boa Morte and George Boateng. We need a guy who will keep us up this season, then plan long-term in summer with time to shape squad (not that we will obviously)
-
And when we secure safety, he rips open his shirt to reveal “Venky’s Out” written on his vest!
-
The last day or two has surely summed up this thread? We've sacked a manager on deadline day and I'm not arsed. Normally getting rid of a manager is either a cause of celebration ala Kean or a source of anger and frustration ala Eustace. We sacked val which should be a cause for relief and celebration but I've no hope we will make the right appointment and if we do I know we'll be back here in 12 months looking for the next one.
-
be an absolute dream... a mere 12 months ago he was asked about a return
-
Devil's advocate mode: Lowe was only in charge for 3 games before they secured a permanent replacement. Problem was, he was one of the worst we've ever had.
-
I think Waggott also lined up Eustace on the same day that Tomasson went, to be fair.
-
It’s a frightening prospect who Gestede and Pasha could put on that touchline Could literally be anyone

Apologies if this has been posted before. https://scottmatchmakermichaels.substack.com/p/blackburn-rovers-how-a-premier-league?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&triedRedirect=true

Will shift the power balance from Gestede + his man over to Owen and Coleman. Don't see it happening, but maybe it's just me hoping for someone better.
-
Realistically Id say Johnson is going to be in charge for the next two games and we should be looking to make a permanent appointment before the game on the 14th. If however Johnson got 4-6 points and the option was (say) Chris Coleman, would you be busting a gut to appoint him just because he was "permanent"?
-
Three years ago Waggott was scrambling around for weeks trying to find a new manager until Broughton took over the hunt. Begs question will Gestede be any more successful than Waggott.
-
Big Sam would probably say "give me a million quid to keep you up, that's 3 months work for me, but you'll be £10 million worse off if you go down, take it or leave it" I reckon he would take it, but I'm not sure he's the answer and I doubt we'd approach him. Imagine the scenes if did 😄
-
You'd fancy Savage will get an EFL gig at some stage, his record in management so far is very impressive. If we were to go down he'd be a punt at League One level I'm sure, but for now? Would it be a huge risk? I did advocate for Dave Challinor this time last year, could he be a short and long term option should we go down? Are we a better bet than Stockport? 53% win rate in over 800 games in management.
-
He would, but you'd have to offer him an astronomical amount of money.
-
Not permanently. Might until the end of the season on big wages plus his usual massive bonus for staying up. (Despite him saying on Uber Eats(?) "He's done enough". Irrelevant as we probably wouldn't pay.
-
There’s no way we should be looking at Warnock. How many times has he retired now? His heart’s not in it, at the very least we need someone who actively wants to be involved in football
-
What's Ryan Nelsen and Chris Samba up to? Reckon we can lure Roque back for half a season?
-
Realistically would big Sam return? If offered for example

Sounds just like us in the last 18 months! Out of our 27 players, if you take out Toth, Alebiosu and Gudjohnsen, it's a pretty similar description. -

Hoping there's some energy about the place tonight.
