  1. Past hour
  2. 21 appearances in League One last season, to non-contract terms in the 7th tier is a hell of a drop. He must have been utterly dire in League One.
  3. Cantwell has now been out for 5 weeks and counting "after taking a kick on the knee against Stoke City on October 4". Extract from Jackson's LT article below refers. IMO, it's taking a long time to recover from a "kick on the knee". Ismael's comments are both interesting and worrying. I have no confidence at all in our medical team and if I was Cantwell, I'd be asking to see a top notch orthopaedic surgeon. Cantwell has missed Rovers' last six games after taking a kick on the knee against Stoke City on October 4. Despite the expectation that he would return quickly, his absence has continued to extend. Ismael was coy on whether he would be available for Preston North End after multiple setbacks. Though there's still hope he could be, he will need to prove he's able to train consistently during this period. “Toddy, we will see. At the minute, it’s always a setback," he said. "He is on the pitch and feels good. The next day it’s not good, another day off. He is not getting any consistency in his training. As long as he doesn’t have full week of training, it’s difficult to be optimistic for the game. We have two weeks. "I hope next week he gets some consistency to train fully. If that’s the case, he will be available for Preston.” As for the match itself, think it will be men against boys and we'll come away with our tail between our legs and this will be game 2 of a Mowbray style death spiral.
  4. It would be interesting to hear their argument for why this scrutiny should be removed.
  5. Those sites are pure guesswork and can be edited as easily as wikipedia. You would genuinely be better off looking at the Football manager games for estimates
  6. Ismael cited the size and pace of Derby as the issue and he felt Hedges would be better at coping than either Riberio or Pickering. And tbh, while we were well beaten on Saturday in other areas, Hedges seemed to handle BBD and his general defensive role well enough. I dont think Pickering or Riberio playing instead would have made much difference. Agree it must be very depressing for Pickering and Riberio. Ismael is a very physicality focussed managed, and I think he is not a fan of those two.
  7. Baradji won't appear until they've got someone else out the door then they can pay him as he plays. Just wait and see.
  8. What's the injury situation here? My guess... Toth - out Wharton - out Kargbo - out Carter - back? Cantwell - back? Baradji - no idea With Cantwell if hes back I wouldnt be that adverse to giving him a go up top alongside a striker. We are running the two we've got into the ground, and Cantwell has a bit of physicality this season. Something like Pears Miller. Carter. McLoughlin Alebiouso. TGH. Tronstad. Hedges Mori Ohashi. Cantwell Means we at least have a recognised striker on the bench which i think we need to close games out.
  9. Iv'e thought more than one recently that financial control of Rovers may well have been wrested away from the 4 loons by the VH group finance dept and/or their lenders before it brought the whole lot crashing down. The cost cutting and cashing in ramped up undeniably since another of their finance men was stuck on the Rovers board. If i were them i'd be recommending just what a good idea it would be to grab some money back from a sale of the club and write off the debt alongside future losses.
  10. Cantwell didn't play in any of the recent wins did he?
  11. Today
  12. Is the club even theirs to sell?
  13. If we can get some players back it's the perfect game for the counter attacking style.... As usual though the piss weak soft underbelly of not only the team but the club i general will dictate a physical aggressive team finds our weaknesses quickly. WHEN is the club going to build a side with some power and muscle down the spine of the side ???? Because we've never had that since king rat took over and it's a large part of the reason we've spent over a decade going nowhere.
  14. On line search of Harry Pickering wage produced that figure whether it is correct or not is open to debate.
  15. Yep, he was one of Brougtons last flurry of re-signings along with Adam Wharton & Szmodics, which whilst I agree he wouldn't be on £15K/week, this was before the taps where turned off fully so he may well be around the top of the current pay scale (similar story to Pears in that he is probably on about what he is worth by Championship standards, but by Rovers standards, is probably towards the top of our earners)
  16. 2-0 Preston, easiest 3 points they will get this season. We just won't be up for the battle as they will be in our faces from the 1st minute.
  17. Will be a tough game this one. Hopefully cantwell is back for this one otherwise it’s pretty much wraps.
  18. Actually not sold out (edit) released in blocks try again now mate
  19. Yea not carrying any confidence here. The ones we wanted to win aren't happening. Derby, Preston and the Ipswich replay.
  20. Anyone know when tickets are released to general public? Don’t have a season ticket this year - I’ve tried to get a ticket as it doesn’t say there’s any restrictions and it shows the map and a load of seats available but won’t let me buy one. Anyone any ideas?
  21. Would they take a significant loss in their books if they sold us (with a loss)? Previously they've said categorically that we're not for sale, now it's different tune. I don't expect anything to happen anytime soon, but within the next five years I believe we'll have different owners.
  22. Betty Everett - It’s In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)
  23. I suspect we'll get beaten pretty comfortably here. We've had our 3 wins in a row, time for 6 losses on the bounce.
  24. Need a result here to claw back some dignity from this weekends results. Tronstad back for this one
