We are trying our best to give them new contracts. Everyone is aligned. Dont forget, we have (insert graduate with no senior starts) and (insert sub par player) so its not a priority. The prices are good value compared to other teams. We didnt want the players that went to other teams. All the ones we got were first choices. We cant spend tens of millions. Literally everything that comes out of the club, swallowed.

Doesn't matter how they are paid if you agree to the asking price i.e 2 million plus in Sammies case and maybe there were add ons or sell on's on top. Meanwhile signing players from foreign leagues on deals 'of up to 1,8 million' is a different scenario. You've committed to 2 or 2.5 million for the likes of Szmodics whatever happens, deals 'of up to' you haven't because they have to hit certain triggers.

We'll plug that gap with a PL loan. Not saying that's the right thing to do like but we've had some decent ones....one of the toughest positions to nail a place down IMO for a youngster in the prem but following loans to us there's been some obvious success stories. The championship is perfect for 'toughening them up'.
