  1. Past hour
  2. English football mate. What the fuck do you expect from them. Pillocks the lot of them.
  3. Absolutely. It was inevitable that once teams got filled with centre mids playing centre half the big man would return and then the direct stuff to exploit it. If I hear a manager has a philosophy other than win games of football I'm immediately suspicious. Data geeks and middle class gentrification of football does my head in, half space, pivot, double pivot, 2 6's and an 8. Load of nonsense to make people seem smart. "Play the right way"- says who? I loved being the bully boys.
  4. It does seem like the coalition is very much an ex-coalition.
  5. Yep!! It’s a joke the whole thing is a shambles Why does it take so long if the ref has the ability to call off a match then they must have some rules about what they do next ridiculous

  7. Report from yesterday https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/september/23/report--rovers-under-21s-3-4-blackpool-under-21s/
  8. Seems to be a hot topic at present.. Personally I like to see a bit of tactically fluidity, love to see a direct approach. Why not boot it high up and drop it up and over a centre half or make them head it. Defenders hate it. We saw Ohashi get a lad sent off from exactly that. You don't have to 'play through the lines' when you can ping it long. Wimbledon used to play diagonals just to win throw-ins and corners before loading the box. I hate the rigidity and arrogance of modern managers. They think they've re-invented the game.. I listened to the Pep and Warnock interview, Warnock talking of the importance of man management- understanding how to get the best out of players whilst Pep, if I'm remembering correctly (Long time ago so apologies if I'm wrong) was talking about how the game's moved on and it's all about tactics now.. A bit of a digression, but whilst I don't disagree tactics are important, very, very important, they're pretty pointless if you don't have the lads on side. I think this is massively under appreciated, it's almost deemed a bit of an 'old school' approach. However, I see it as the smart approach- evidence based even. I know in Psychology the therapeutic relationship between client and practioner is the most important variable as to the success of therapy. What I think I'm getting it, other than missing how football used to be. Is it's rather generic and complexified- we're not talking quantum physics. I'm all for a resurgence if proper wing play, two strikers up front. Long balls into the big man to hold up or flick on. Sick to death of watching wingers and strikers do nothing but press and pass backwards.
  9. As part of a wider array of events that would be ace, maybe a veterans game against them before a league game. I hope that's not all we get, because that would be dissapointing.
  10. Agreed, they've already set (or continued) the precedent of asking both sides to put their case forward. The facts are all known, they should just make the inevitable decision.
  11. The outcome would be 3pts to Rovers, if it was my decision. 1-0 up with around 10 minutes to go plus added on, there weren't many stoppages, and Ipswich down to 10 men. I'm sure any Ipswich supporter would think the same, if the glove was on the other hand.
  12. They will at the very least be ordered to cover costs and try and make a few extra pennies so there'll be some sort of charge. Meanwhile Ipswich will probably subsidise those who want to travel again.
  13. If I’m the EFL I’m making a decision without taking representations from either side. All that will happen now is they’ll be accused of listening to one side over the other.
  14. Love this thread! Keep up the good work, mate.
  15. Of course they could - just have a feeling that the decision will be accompanied by the date for the replay. All angles covered - no public debates about when it should be played etc
  16. Forgot Grant McCann was Doncaster manager. Find it amusing how he and Darren Ferguson seem to take it in turns to manage Donny and Peterborough 😅. Ferguson - Four times at Posh, once at Donny McCann - Twice at Posh, twice at Donny However my lasting memory of McCann will always be the own goal he scored against Rovers in the 7-1 win over West Ham.
  17. I won't be turning up for the replay - as a season ticket holder (boo hiss I know).
  18. The decision has already been made - it'll be a full replay.
  19. We have a handful left & available on the site now if you change your mind…perfect for winter Ewood wear IMHO 😉
  20. Could they not just announce the decision and that a confirmed date will follow in due course?
  21. I genuinely think the delay is purely due to the EFL wanting to state the date for the replay in their decision. That requires agreement from all sides (including Police etc)
  22. We're fucked - we've been given a deadline to adhere to.
  23. I can only think that Rovers might include Ismael's comments from yesterday in their final submission (had they not already done so). If Ismael wasn't asked for his opinion by anybody yet the Ipswich manager was Rovers might point to Ipswich putting some pressure on the referee. Clutching at straws perhaps but the more evidence and doubt we can put in the EFL's minds might just help. Disclaimer: I still think it will replayed wholly and 11 v 11.
  24. It's not more difficult but it is less beneficial financially. If the shortened match is behind closed doors then the club will have to issue refunds on the original match and get no income from the 15 minute match. Pasha thinks in terms of pound notes, he doesn't care about the 3 points. Officially, the club will probably push for the 15 minute option but I know what Pasha would prefer.
