I think we'll stay up this season by the skin of our teeth, maybe by 3 or 4 points. If Valerian stays, I'm sure we will go down next season, dropping like a stone, based on our trajectory of constant downgrading in every possible area of the football club.

Yeah which was predicted by many including myself so why is it a surprise we are down there. If we had say Eustace in charge of this squad and all the injuries we wouldn't have been in a relegation scrap?

I'm not suggesting Ismael is brilliant, I wouldn't cry if he was sacked but I think if he does go he would be replaced by similar who would be "complicit" with Gestede and Pashas plans. Our concentration should be on removing the owners failing that at least Gestede and Pasha

I would absolutely believe that at this point probably multiple people have looked at putting together serious bids to buy us. There are plenty of reasons that we are, on paper, an appealing prospect - particularly for anyone wanting to 'do a Wrexham' - run down old club with plenty of history, a distinctive kit/badge for marketing and a fanbase ready to welcome just about anyone with open arms. Lots of people are being linked with/actively buying clubs smaller than us all the time. The idea that there is a group willing to put down 'substantial' figures isn't unlikely, I'm happy to take that at face value. But it is meaningless unless Venky's are actually willing to entertain the offer, which so far they have shown no inclination to do. People can 'approach Venkys' all day long - the scoop will be if and when someone actually coaxes them to the table.

It doesn't even have to be as deep as all this. Our biggest problem has been refusing to sign up senior players to reasonable contracts. Exacerbated by an overreliance on loans to pad the squad out (often very poor ones) and a refusal to adequately reinvest received transfer funds, even though that can yield even bigger profits down the line. Instead we buy a load of cheap dross which very rarely works out, and you know what they say - buy cheap, buy twice. Because of all this, every window is playing catch up. If we hadn't been ballsing those three things up, we'd have been promoted by now.

I remember seeing that photo years before AI Jim. I think it’s from a game against Bury in late 1966. Harrison was built like a light heavyweight but he wasn’t a fan of the rough stuff. He was seriously rapid in a straight line and had a shot like a rocket. Possibly the best penalty taker we’ve had. He could side foot the ball harder than I could blast it. Some power in those thighs. If it is that game we won 2-0 - Connelly and Harrison with a pen the scorers. I still think that kit is my favourite. The first one I ever had.

The way I see it Is we have stayed out of the bottom 3 the majority of the season with injuries to key players even with dropping points to clubs below and around us. Scoring goals is an issue but since Gudjohnson has been out we have been playing without a striker. Even Ohashi I wouldn't describe him as a striker he spends too much time outside the box If Gudjohnson had been fit or we had another number 9 to replace him I dont think we would have had only 1 win in our last 11
