  1. Past hour
  2. Not fickle at all. Most here still believe that SWAG was slippery, economical with the truth. Many now believe that RG is worse. 5 years? I see -that's how long we have to give the new aligned plan before we can comment.
  3. “the former fans favourite will identify and arrange appropriate loan opportunities, both domestically and abroad, to ensure placements align with the club's player development pathway” Main responsibility - Clarity! Aka outgoing loans to clubs where it suits a “philosophy”.
  4. Christian will be known to a lot of people on here and he’s a good guy. Just replying to Marks comment as they also know each other. He’s a good guy and from what I can see he’s just agreeing that TGH will be a better shout than Tavares. Can’t really argue with that.
  5. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/september/03/rhodes-returns-in-new-rovers-role-/ He will also be tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with loan clubs and will link in with the scouting department by attending matches and assessing potential player targets, to support the club's broader recruitment strategy.
  6. Quote for the first? A loans manager is regarding outward going loans from my experience. This isn’t about Jordan going to find us loans for the first team, that’s the scouting teams job. A loan manager from my experience finds places suitable for your younger players to get experience.
  7. It shouldn't be overlooked that Waggott, like Mowbray, had a direct connection to the Indians. This is of critical importance in the weird heirarchy and power struggle that we have witnessed here over the years. Now that the shadow dweller is the last man standing with that direct connection to India he has carte blanche to crack on with his agenda. A bit like in 2015 once Bowyer and Shaw had been ousted and he was able to play games with Lambert and Coyle beneath him. Mowbray's flight to India following relegation in 2017 interrupted that as Mowbray did what Mowbray does and won over those listening to him in Pune. Part of that meant they trusted him to recommend a CEO to do the upstairs work and along comes Waggott. Of course a total coincidence that they had worked at Coventry together just a few years previous. Waggott was also allowed to go out there with Mowbray and say his bit to those at the top table and off the back of it secured himself year after year of lucrative employment with probably little-no pressure from the Indians to actually deliver a great deal. I would be astonished if any of the top brass in India ever put him or Mowbray under any serious pressure in terms of performance, results, targets, growth, league status, attendances, facilities etc. Strikes me as something of a ghost ship here - once you are in and get the thumbs up from the Indians you are just left alone to coast along - pros and cons with that sort of routine - the downside being zero communication, direction etc to the point where you are literally your own boss and left to fend for yourself. Things start to unravel if you expect more or better of them or dare demand or criticise them - but as long as you are willing to put up with this upwards/reverse hierarchy you're laughing. That is until the shadow dweller reasserts himself and re-establishes control and then the party comes to an end. I would be fascinated to know the truth about who the shadow dweller truly acts for and represents because from where I'm sat there is a clear divergence between what he has been overseeing the last 10 years and what people like Mowbray, Waggott and Bowyer were up to with their direct connection to the bigwigs. Often we get 'the owners' chucked out there as a term for who is running the show and making the decisions but that is really quite unhelpful. Even if we accept that 'Venkys' are the only ones who are the owners of the club, we already know there are four in their inner sanctum all with likely different ways of operating, then there's their children, and other board members/hangers on/family members, advisors, finance people. Quite the tangled web. Like who is the other Rao bloke who is on the board who, allegedly, turned up for a game recently (how anyone knows what he looks like I don't know).
  8. Nope. Remarkable example of how fickle some of our fans are. When Rudy has had 5 years to achieve little to nothing, been part of umpteen players to leave due to contract issues and overseen back to back winter transfer windows with deals falling down due to paperwork, I’ll join you on this comment.
  9. Just a few points: -He is 'loans manager.' RG has stated that we are not interested in those, so why is he required? -the club is cost cutting -why not give the role to someone in-house (if it is even required?) Given, that we won't be having any loans, it should be a straightforward job. -the timing is curious no?
  10. If these comments to people are genuinely true and they have evidence - it shouldn’t be on here. It should be reported. Until it is reported and acted on, it’s online tittle tattle as far as I’m concerned. The fact it’s accusing someone of forcing religion on others is incredibly divisive too. Speculating on people’s religion too is also just not appropriate in my eyes, it’s got nothing to do with it.
  11. It seemed obvious to me that Hyam needed a strong player next to him. He was a different player when he was asked to lead. Regarding Batth, perhaps it's one season too many and he should have retired. He's 35 this month.
  12. The opposite - Wrexham were sniffing around for a CB in that price range (they were after a bloke from Bristol City for £2m and told to jog on).
  13. Don’t take this personally Mike, you’ve never been in an academy, you’ve never done the YTS, you’ve never been on loan, or played at multiple levels of the EFL, you’ve never been transferred, you don’t have connections throughout the league through family, network and former employers and finally you’ve never had the responsibility of playing for championship level teams on a regular basis. All of those things make his experience a hell of a lot more important than your own and all of those things should be useful to a club that has an u21 / u18 setup absolutely chock full of players. Edit - apologies for the large text but whenever I try and type more than two sentences here these days, a pop up crashes the screen and I have to start again. Great website lads.
  14. Today
  15. What other partners has Hyam struggled with? He has been very good for most of his Rovers career. People have always credited others when he has done well and blamed him when he and others have struggled. Maybe a mixture of Carter playing poorly and him playing on the left didnt help. In his poor season, we were also really open as a team and struggling as a team. Or more they were both playing well with each other. Why does it have to be one playing well and carrying the other?
  16. Think that the bit about existing set ups is a boast/threat/willy waving that will never be used (other than as per the current situation when a club/business is failing to meet its obligations to staff or HMRC)
  17. You've seen one image and not verified anything in there. If you went onto transfermarkt you would note that the fees besides Dom Hyam, Lewis Travis, Harry Leonard and Callum Brittain are all followed with a ? - so they are not included in any calculation for money received. The only two confirmed fees are John Buckley and JRC who combined are 2.03 million euros.
  18. Would love to know what is actually happening with Pears. Think RuHail (eller SuDy??) had counted on 2m (ish) for him but something is not going to plan with that...
  19. Oh yep, I was encouraged at first (and thanks for posting). Just seems that they will be more interested in new applications (but then contradicted by the last para that they could look into existing set ups).
  20. It was this section on particular that interested me. Unfortunately though I don't believe the regulator will consider what's happening at our club sufficient to take any action. As long as the lights are kept on and the bills paid they'll be happy.
  21. Since we have lost both of them, it's surely a moot point to discuss now.
  22. The idea of the head honchos wondering why everyone is furiously staring at and scribbling on cards whilst they talk, and then someone triumphantly shouting 'Bullshit Bingo!' after the 14th Rovers transfer-window-failure-cliche is churned out, definitely tickles me. Incidentally somebody did already draw up such a bingo card earlier in this thread, I couldn't tell you who or when though.
  23. However, it is key to make clear that the ODSE Test does not have to taken by current owners, directors or senior executives and they do not have to apply. Only new prospective custodians will be required to apply for the test. However incoming the Football Regulator is intent on making it clear that if it has any concerns about the suitability of an existing owner, director or senior executive, it will be able to intervene and take action Edit Two howevers in row.
  24. Yes I still do. You'll be the first to know when I change my mind. In that case I'll hold my hands up and admit that I was wrong. Could you explain what it is about RG that you think is an 'excellent appointment'?
