  1. Past hour
  2. Not feasible at a normal club. Have you not learned anything in 15 years? They are not interested, he acts unilaterally over here. Unless they get access to the Raos in India, nothing gets off the ground. And access is as good as impossible.
  3. You may well be right about how they account for the losses in India - but that will not be the same as the tax treatment. We seem to have our own Chief Financial Officer - Matt Wright - who I assume is responsible for most of the Finance duties rather than the board members.
  4. Unless the Indian tax system is dramatically more generous regarding the utilisation of losses of overseas businesses than every other country in the world - which I doubt and on a brief scan of the easily available information regarding their tax code does not appear to be the case - then Venkys will not be able to offset the football club's losses against their taxable profits in India. If like the Hemmings group they had other UK businesses which were profitable they would be able to utilise the losses.
  5. Also i know Preston didn't have an academy, although not sure if they do know, so that is c3 mill a year less running costs than Rovers . But ... A third of the Rovers academy costs are met by grants and since Venkys took over off the top of my head Jones 16 mill + add ons Wharton 18 mill + add ons Hanley 3 mill Travis 2 mill Leonard 1 mill 40 million quid there divided by 15 years means the operating costs have been entirely covered without the ownership having to spend a penny on it. So all is not as it seems regarding this so called expensive luxury of a Cat 1 academy. The fact a lot of that has been totally spewed on paying off managers, directors and players is again down to the terrible ownership and stewarding of this club and something you won't find has happened at Preston.
  6. The CSL has regressed massively in the last few years. Their stadium is less than half full most games, granted its more than we have at Ewood but hardly surprising given the population of Shanghai is about 30 million 🤣 Biggest name in the league is probably an ageing Teixeira now.
  7. Just goes to show that Russell Martin's visionary genius laid the groundwork for the later success (although another view might be that the players were always ok and Martin is just shit) 😉 In much the same way as Carrick is reaping the benefit of all Amorin's genius. Amorin thought Mainoo couldn't do the running required in his system and froze him out - and yet in the two games under Carrick he's run more than anyone else in the team, obviously motivated by Amorin's comments rather than it just being Amorin's crap judgement. Some of these managers are just stealing a living. Maybe an essential bit of reading for all Sporting Directors et al should be 'The Emperor's New Clothes'!!
  8. Whilst I don't think it would take a huge amount for one or more of the Clubs to claw their way out of trouble, one win in the last 14, two home wins in 14 all season, we're going to have to improve dramatically to have a chance of staying up - and I just don't see it under this manager. So near and yet so far..........
  9. And it's fair enough to presume the same corporate accounting methods apply in India when the VH group funds its overseas loss making entity. We also have a VH group employee running the club and two VH group finance men on the board of Blackburn Rovers. So nothing different here apart from 5 thousand miles and a good few brain cells.
  10. WBA could be this year’s ‘too good to go down’. One thing’s for sure, that label doesn’t fit us.
  11. Your point being? Also can't losses sustained by Rovers be offset against profits made elsewhere within the Venky's organisation?
  12. For me Bennett and Evans were the polar opposite of likeable and by his own admission Graham didnt take the job very seriously at times and had slowed to a virtual standstill by the end. We could badly use a striker of his type near his prime now though. The others I'd agree with, especially the brilliant Harrison Reed who couldn't even get selected in front of Smallwood and Evans. I agree that the current squad are very unlikeable. The only two I like are Scott Wharton and Alebiosu. Gudjohnssen and Jorgensen I'm neutral on until I've seen a bit more. Ohashi and Moreshita seem nice guys but unfortunately just haven't been very good. I think of all the pelters Dolan used to get but he was far more consistent and effective week in week out than those two have been.
  13. Maybe because he prefers living in the North ? Some do you know.
  14. Are we talking about the Championship or China?
  15. Several times this season when we've gone behind the fans have turned on the ownership etc. To most of those players that will be a first and unnerving experience but i assume they are getting used to it by now.
  16. Preston don't have an Under 21 team so that would partially explain lower operating losses. Additionally they are part of the Hemmings family business group so presumably can make use of group employees for matters like IT,HR ,Finance and legal. Also being part of the Hemmings group the losses in the football club can be offset for tax purposes against profits of their other businesses.
  17. Currently have 27 players that can be registered, I'll be amazed if someone hasn't left by the end of the window. If and I know we won't, we sign Cleary then I don't think he would have to be registered this season due to his age.
  18. Has there been a finalisation or progress report recently upon the action vs Newcastle regarding Rory Finneran?
  19. Adverse weather...4 degrees with a bit of rain and snow?
  20. Ahh yes, I forgot about the VISA thing. I look forward to losing him for bugger all in a couple of years instead then.
  21. You'd think Pickering for sure but no rumours so far. If we're going to up our bid for Cleary then you'd assume somebody off.
  22. I'm sure he is earning more money and the crowds are bigger. But he is now in the football wilderness regardless of that. If that's fine with him at his age, then I have no criticism, it's his life and things weren't going well here. Best of luck to him, he's a likeable guy. It's still a shite standard of football now the money has dried up.
  23. But there is absolutely no accountability now. And I havent witnessed the fans turning on the players. Ewood is as quiet and apathetic as it ever has been. And even if the fans do get annoyed it isnt at the players.
  24. That god awful Chinese team play in a 72,000 arena and average nearly 40,000 crowds. I'd say he may well have fallen on his feet there (rather than falling over them )
  25. Today
  26. It doesn't no I agree, but people will post on here every time he does score at least for a while....I imagine will score a few too, the standard in China is back to being dreadful again now they aren't able to throw money about the same.
  27. Thanks, I naively assumed what I was looking at was this year's friendlies, but for some reason it was set to 2025 and they played Tianjin on the exact same day last year. OK, godawful Russian team (second tier, 3k stadium). I don't disagree that he is a confidence player btw, or that we failed to get the best out of him under Ismael. I'm just pointing out scoring against a terrible team in a friendly demonstrates precisely nothing to us.
