I thought it was a pen too. Inthink ref did not give it cos the ball had got away from him, shouldn't matter but it dies seems to at times. We get lots of pens waved away.

Ohashi for me is very like Hedges. Maybe nothing special on the ball, but absolutely first class off it. Those sorts of players get very underrated. A big part of why we looked so comfortable all game imo is the vast amount of pressing work those two get through. Ohashi also linked up really well with Mori and Cantwell. They are both undropable at the moment for me, though obviously Gudjonsen needs to come in somewhere. Id still put Cantwell deeper and drop Tavares, put Mori at number 10, Hedges left, Ohashi right and Gudjonsen up top. -

I was actually going to dare to suggest in a few months we may be debating if indeed it was Waggot and his methods who has been holding the whole club back for years ? Something which has cropped up in the past. Still way too early for that though but the transition might turn into a mini revolution, a load of people with something to prove rather than going through the motions. We'll see. -

Very early days but it isn't really a one off as there was the Hull performance and both the Brum and Norwich games were thrown away really we weren't battered. So to turn in a display like yesterday after so much recent changes and upheavel they ALL deserve a bit of credit, Biggest test yet is to come in the shape of Ipswich and we need a complete performance in that one to start to build up a bit of genuine belief. -

I will whisper it again but what if these so and sos have got it right? Wages down, age profile down, a smaller squad but genuine competition for places all over the park. In Morishita and Gudjonsson we might have qualities we were sadly lacking last season. A manager who has generated real togetherness knitting the biggest rag bag of pick ups together since Ken Furphy was in the seat. -

Posts like that do you absolutely no favours. We weren't poor yesterday and that is the thrust of the debate. I don't think anybody has said they enjoy 'bobbing along between 15th and 21st' - that's your spin to suit your own narrative. There is a lot to be critical of at Rovers for sure but having a dig a supporters who enjoyed a win and good day out is frankly childish. -

Went to see a Pink Floyd tribute band last night. Think Floyd they are now called, they were The Dark Side of Pink Floyd last year! At our local parish church again (the largest in the county). Light show and acoustics were excellent and the musicians were tremendous.

Glad you enjoyed the day out. 1n he wider scheme of things if you "enjoy" bobbing along between 15th and 21st - that's your (and Parson's) prerogative. As such knowledgeable and seasoned observers I can't understand why you both seem to be so content for us to be poor. -

Don't think either Birmingham or Wrexham will hang onto their managers if results dont pick up. They're in it to be successful not to be sentimental. It was obvious from the Birmingham documentary that Wagner and Brady think the world of Chris Davies, but, they are focused on getting to the Premier League and if they dont think he's the man for it, they'll probably drop him without a second thought. Parkinson- if results dont improve - why would anyone keep him? He's no track record at this level. -

You speak for yourself when you say relief but I can assure you everyone I saw and spoke to at the game really enjoyed it. It is six points from five games but as we have been talking specifically about yesterday it was a day to enjoy as a Rovers fan. -

It's six points from five games. I'd say relief was more appropriate than enjoyment yesterday. We bloody needed that. -

Totally agree with the above arbitro. Yesterday was exactly what following Rovers is about. So much to be encouraged about. I must admit that looking at some of the individual performances yesterday, I think Gestede and his crew deserve a bit of praise for finding some of these players who, to be honest, I'd never heard of until they arrived here. Morishita, like Ohashi, has skill and the right work ethic. Gudjohnsen looks a real handful, Miller is a player who can adapt to different roles and certainly lets the opposition know he's not to be messed with. Alebiosu is really growing on me as an attacking right-back. Admittedly, it's still early on in the season, but I've seen plenty to be encouraged about with this rebuild thus far. Val has got the type of players he wants to work with so it will be interesting to see how it develops. It was also great to see Carter and Wharton back to their best yesterday. I'm especially pleased for Scott who bleeds 'blue and white' and after his injuries it was wonderful to see him in such commanding form. -

Tavares seems to have the ability, but lacks concentration, which in turn leads to him being sloppy in possession. Hopefully this improves with time, no reason that it can't TGH is a physical utility player for me. Useful to have on the bench, not sure he will impact the starting 11 when everyone is fit, but it's a long season & injuries/suspensions will happen. He was a sensible signing on a loan RE TGH, apparently his contract wage (he signed for Birmingham during the summer), is close to Β£20K/week, Rovers are paying half of that, so unlikely a permanent deal will get done given the current wage structure -

Not really contradictory, short term enjoyment of a win but long term you know it means nothing. A bit like being thousands of pounds in debt that you know you're going to struggle paying off for probably the rest of your life, but you'd still be buzzing if you found a tenner on the street. -

Cantwell will be up for it next week, heβll face dogs abuse from the Ipswich fans but I think heβll thrive on it. He looked a class above yesterday. Pre match was spent arguing with some knob head on Facebook who was insistent that the current squad was miles better than last season. Obviously he was keen to dig me out after the win. Stand by my comments that I canβt see us finishing in the top 6 but after a performance like that I guess anything is possible. Not expecting anything from next week but itβs the championship so who knows.

Tavares had a little spell in the first half when he got sloppy in possession but overall he did a good job. It was difficult to make a judgement on Gardner-Hickman given the amount of time he played but having seen him play against us several times I think he will be an asset to us with his Championship experience.

Another great away day. This was the perfect away performance in so many ways. On the front foot from the start, high energy, quick attacking moves, robust tackling. Defensively we were excellent. Carter and Wharton provided the rock on which we could build. Scott was my Man of the Match, a truly outstanding performance. Cantwell looks a different player this season season. He links up play in the opposition half so well and the move between himself, Ohashi and Morishita that led to the goal was pure class. In midfield, Tarvares showed some flair for passing but is clearly a work in progress. Tronstad was he usual solid self and how we will miss him when he returns home in the summer. However, a special word again for Ryan Hedges who continues to be a workhorse. Val seems to have got the best out of Hedges and he now looks an automatic choice for that position. Morishita looks a real player. Intelligent in his movement, good control and packs a fierce shot. He looks a real find as does Gudjohnsen on this display. Strong, mobile and plenty of skill he looks like another player who will be a real addition to our ranks. Of course, it's still early days, but there are some very promising signs at the moment and much to be encouraged about. -

Great to hear those comments. Seen some online videos of Ismael's post match celebrations with the fans. Agreed with comments about Hedges and Cantwell performances this season When he went 3 at back I thought Ismael was wrong to change it but he wasn't and I was. What did you think of Tavares and Taylor-Hickman performances?.
