  1. Past hour
  2. Do you think his stock is really that high?
  3. I would take him. He wouldn’t take us unless he wanted a final challenge. He puts his arms around players. He got the best out of Dack and others. He is well respected if not by some of us. Anything but what we have
  4. Makes even less sense than not playing him when we had no fit strikers. An eager Labrador would have been more effective than Henricksson.
  5. And that is how many times now that has happened and we've conceded late ? His game management is diabolical it's purely based on saving some legs and stretching some others.
  6. Any championship job is an attractive job, last time round we will have had lots of quality candidates. The issues is Pasha et Al aren’t interested in quality candidates. They’re interested in maleable serfs who will tow the party line. Which apart from a minor wobble about the pitch Ismael has done perfectly. We’re only in the bottom 3 due to injuries, referees and the weather……..
  7. Can only assume we are waiting to sell Alebiosu before desperately scrambling to sign anyone, usual deadline day shenanigans incoming.
  8. He should never of took Forshow off for MB , that left a gap in the middle that they exposed (even though offside) because Baradji is too lazy to track back .
  9. I think we need to be realistic. It’s possibly the least attractive managerial position in the top four divisions. No wage budget, no transfer budget, best players sold and fees not reinvested. Plus you have the CEO ‘in waiting’ pulling the strings. Edit: And a below average squad.
  10. What was it Tony Mowbray said about it no longer being 1995 🤣☝️
  11. He wouldn't have that issue here
  12. I don’t think he would save us and don’t really want him back. I never said I did. i wanted him gone for two years before he left us. I just think he did a good job in the season he was appointed and was unlucky all the teams at the bottom also went on similar runs. That was freakish, as was going down with 51 points.
  13. Did you see how bad he did at Leicester with some actually talented players?
  14. Someone like Steven Gerrard. Why? Because it's a win-win situation. Either a high-profile appointment galvanises the team enough to stave off relegation, OR he fails, and he casts a media spotlight on everything going wrong at Rovers. A name like Gerrard doesn’t fade quietly into the background like another drab appointment. His presence drags cameras, column inches, and uncomfortable questions with it.
  15. I’d give it to Damian johnson , he couldn’t do any worse .
  16. Ah, but you forget, income does not affect Rovers expenditure, our budget has already been set in stone & nothing will increase it Obviously if Rovers operated like any normal business, there would be a consideration to be made about if we should take the guaranteed money now, or the possibility of more money at some future date. But then again, if Rovers operated like any normal business, they would have already spent the Wharton money, the Szmodics money, & the Raya money on improving the playing squad & renewing contracts rather than letting our better players & dressing room leaders depart, and we would not be in this position in the first place
  17. TM is a season long man his methods reflect that, the long plod not the short bright spark manager bounce. If he were to come it needs to be right now before the Sheff Weds game not the end of Feb.
  18. So did Eustace because these guys firstly look at solidifying the defence and take if from there. Also a lot of our rare success even under Ismael came earlier away from home on the counter it's nonsense to suggest we can't play like that. Of course it won't be pretty who gives a toss we need results and clean sheets and there is enough defenders to pick from. The high press i'm afrain needs ditching it isn't working its cost numerous games due to fatigue on 70 mins and a raft of subs because of it.
  19. take your pick Mr Fleming ..nice to hear from you by the way.... long time and all that😉
  20. They leave it for tomorrow and that's it
  21. The problem is that you can't take a run of games and extrapolate it over the course of a season. We know from first-hand experience with Mowbray it doesn't work like that, as the wheels inevitably come off. But even if we did take Mowbray's initial run of form and extrapolate it, it reaches approx. 67 points, which isn't typically a playoff spot, so let's get that factoid outta the way. The point is that Rovers relied on Mowbray to prevent League One status before, and he failed. How exactly does that make him the answer second time of asking?
  22. Marti Cifuentes did well with QPR. Could he save us?
  23. Because he was very well thought of by the previous squad that was broken up and sold off/chased out. He doesn't know this lot and they don't know him.
  24. 11th, but point taken
  25. Rowett plays long ball/counter attack horrendous football. We can’t defend so would struggle to even put a counter attack together, no pace to even play a counter attack and no one that seemingly can hold a ball up so can’t play long ball. Wrong manager for this shockingly put together team
  26. Rowett for starters, winning the league at that level is no qualification for a job like this at this point in time. If we had a solid squad sat going nowhere in midtable it might be different as would a summer appointment with time to mould a squad but not now. Trouble is there is zero football brains in the club now at director level not even a Waggot so in blind panic they'll probably turn to Mowbray with a long term contract. And that will give us more of a fighting chance of staying up or coming straight back than a complete punt. JDT won a far superior league to that twice yet still struggled with the nature of this league. Horses for courses needed.
