  1. Past hour
  2. Utterly disgusting and as Arbitro says, very Trumpian. These people are dragging the club through the sewer.
  3. What exactly was this social media post that Rovers objected to so much?
  4. I wonder what will happen if you can't make the replay, due to it being held mid-week ?
  5. I wonder if the club had demands which would’ve prevented this ban. If so, the LT should publish them.
  6. This seems incredibly petty from the club and has Gestede and Pasha's grubby prints on it. It sounds like they wanted to 'buy' or control the Telegraph's reporting by inviting their reporter to travel with the team for the pre season training camp. The toys are well and truly out of the pram now. It's another new low from Rovers but in the bright side the uninformed idiots who lost on the LT website will be redundant. It's all very Trumpian.
  7. Get the Telegraph signed up to the coalition.
  8. Get the telegraph signed up to the coalition.
  9. Well I can't imagine this will end well for the club. Elliot has been fairly light touch in terms of criticism IMO. Presume its a a mixture of Suhail and Gestede who've come to this conclusion, in which case I hoe it massively backfires on both of them.
  10. I didn’t know the club still had values let alone ones which need protecting
  11. They should go in hard on the club now. In for a penny in for a pound.
  12. I'm at a loss to understand what has upset them so much, as local journos are always wary of getting on the wrong side of the club they report on. Having said that, there's nothing now to stop the Telegraph printing stuff they may otherwise not have done, let's wage war on the bastards and get them out
  13. This might be a good thing. Surely the Telegraph can report what they like about the club now?
  14. Received the shirt this afternoon. Blown away by the quality. You’d pay well over £100 if it had the little polo horse on it.
  15. And most fans thought the LT were treating the club exceptionally gently.
  16. Imagine the club having the brass neck to post this: ’the club considers inconsistent with the standards of professionalism, integrity and mutual respect’.
  17. Bad move from the club. Can't see many, even the happy clappers, seeing this as a smart or positive move
  18. The Lancashire Telegraph side of the story. Absolutely pathetic from the club Blackburn Rovers Football Club has banned the Lancashire Telegraph from its property due to alleged unfair reporting. The ban has come after the club expressed unhappiness at Rovers correspondent Elliott Jackson’s coverage, including around transfers, which the Lancashire Telegraph argues is simply Elliott doing his job as a professional, diligent journalist. Elliott and the rest of the Lancashire Telegraph’s staff have now been banned from setting foot on Rovers' property, and the club has also tried to coerce other EFL Championship clubs into blocking Elliott's access at away matches, including this weekend’s game at Charlton Athletic. The club says it has tried to foster a positive relationship and takes issue with stories critical of the club; the Lancashire Telegraph argues it is not a mouthpiece for the club, and it must accept the rough with the smooth, just as all major organisations the newspaper covers do. The issue, the club says, stems from a post by Elliott on X.com that it claims was false and that contained quotes that were wrongly attributed, and also Elliott’s coverage of the departure of the club captain Lewis Travis. It has also taken issue with so-called negative reporting about the club. First team coach Valerien Ismael said in a press conference that Travis wanted to leave, and Elliott argues he did his job, working his contacts to pursue the story and get the full picture for the fans. The Lancashire Telegraph’s position is that this is simply diligent, tenacious reporting, which is commonplace in all forms of journalism, particularly so during the football transfer window that the club is fully aware of. If the team is playing badly or not appearing to be active in the transfer window, Elliott is well within his rights to be critical, we say. A spokesperson for the Lancashire Telegraph said: “To be surprised or upset by this strikes us as either incredibly naïve or engineered as an excuse to try to stifle negative coverage. “While we appreciate the opportunities made available to the newspaper, including access to players and transport during pre-season, this should not be used to try to stop us from reporting the facts when the club deserves criticism.” They added: "We're disappointed in the action taken by Blackburn Rovers and remain committed to finding an amicable solution and a way forward. “Ultimately, the club and the Lancashire Telegraph are here to serve the fans. “Readers can rest assured we will continue to provide exemplary coverage of the club, telling the stories that matter about the club they love." Elliott has defended his X post, which has since been deleted, as accurate, and the Lancashire Telegraph has seen messages which corroborate this. The English Football League has said access to stadia sits with the home club, and while visiting clubs can make requests, the home team is under no obligation to meet these requests. It said the EFL’s preference is for all access to be granted to provide supporters with the best coverage of their clubs possible. Blackburn Rovers FC was contacted for comment.
  19. What was the social media post that caused this tantrum, out of curiosity?
  20. “Blackburn Rovers can confirm that media access for the Lancashire Telegraph has been withdrawn with immediate effect. This decision has not been taken lightly. It follows a series of ongoing issues that the club considers inconsistent with the standards of professionalism, integrity and mutual respect expected in our relationship with media partners. In recent months, Blackburn Rovers made considerable efforts to strengthen ties with the Lancashire Telegraph and its designated Rovers reporter. These included exclusive access to training sessions, players and our Head Coach during the summer training camp in Spain, as well as a personal invitation to travel with the team on a private charter flight for the pre-season fixture against NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands. While in Spain, senior club executives also met directly with representatives of the Lancashire Telegraph to discuss concerns, open dialogue and lay the foundations for improved cooperation ahead of the 2025-26 season. These steps were taken in good faith, with the clear expectation of fair, constructive coverage and a positive working relationship going forward. Regrettably, despite these efforts, the club has continued to encounter repeated issues with the newspaper’s conduct and reporting. This culminated in a recent social media post in which matters became personal – a line the club will not tolerate under any circumstances. Such actions directly undermine the assurances and commitments made during the meeting in Spain. Following further refusals from the Lancashire Telegraph to cooperate until an ‘amicable resolution’ could be reached on their terms, the club has been left with no alternative but to withdraw all media access with immediate effect. This suspension applies to all Blackburn Rovers fixtures, press conferences and club premises until further notice. Blackburn Rovers remains committed to engaging openly and respectfully with all sections of the media. However, we will always act firmly to protect the values of the club, its staff and our supporters.”
