  1. Past hour
  2. Anderson is a good player but I am not convinced that he is beyond good Premier League standard. He also doesnt play as deep for Forest so it isnt necessarily a position hes most comfortable in. Against poor to awful opposition, thats not been tested at all so far in an England shirt and hes had free reign really. Against better teams, I would wonder how he would fare. I do think that Wharton is more well suited to that role as he plays it every week.
  3. Think Anderson and Rice partnership works. Anderson is a clever football. Very good player and only going to get better
  4. Yeah.... Theres a conventional view that the defensive player is the deeper midfield partner, and the offensive one further forward. But often it works better the other way round. Tugay and Savage were like that. Tugay would drop off and pick up the ball deep and do his incredible passing. Savage would push up and closing down ahead of him to win the ball back.
  5. 6 is defensive midfielder not a centre back. Source: Coaches' Voice https://share.google/idnRsiFDoMUERo130
  6. Tuchel didn’t hold back in his praise for Anderson. “He’s just a very, very good football player,” Tuchel said. “He has the physicality, he’s very mobile at No 6. He has the body, he loves to defend, he loves to put his body inside to duels. He loves passing, he loves to break the lines, he’s very mobile in this game. It was a pleasure to see .l
  7. Today
  8. Anderson as the number 6? Wouldnt fancy him at centre back.
  9. Not sure Tuchel has any issue with the away support, cracking fans, but Wembley is a morgue, who would argue with either statement?
  10. He lost me after the Burnley game. To not come out and apologise after that shambles told me a lot.
  11. Who was in charge of Rovers today?
  12. Anderson has the 6 is working next to Rice is working and looks good overall partnership Tuchel is playing a balanced team with players playing in their correct position. No shoehorning of players to get them in. Looks a good overall team. Eze must go to.the world cup. Gives you different type of player in a couple of roles
  13. This is an exciting project for us…it kind of takes the “Mount Rushmore” theme on here & injects it with steroids! It’s possibly important to emphasise the “tells the story” element here - in other words it’s not just the best players, indeed it’s not just players. There are many other actors in the Rovers story who have influenced the tale for better or worse…without taking the field. What we do with the final list is the subject of much discussion but the possibility of a special 4000 Holes edition - perhaps even a book (there’s an idea eh?) &/or other merchandise possibilities are all on the table. Please do get involved over the next few weeks…🤍💙
  14. It's a result driven business not performance or stats. At Ewood certain stats will get you the job and keep you in it regardless.
  15. Yeah, its a total waste of time trying to judge against such dreadful opposition. One thing I do think is that Tuchel seems happy to try and build the most balanced team, rather than the one with the best players. England's best position is clearly number 10, with Bellingham, Foden and Palmer, and even beyond that, Eze and Rogers. All (or at least the first 4) are better than anyone we can muster up wide left. But Kane is slow and drops off, to get the best out of him we need a quick left winger who can go in behind so its either Gordon or Rashford. No sticking a Foden, a Palmer, even a Grealish there, the main thought is balance. He clearly wants 2 out and out wingers. Same in midfield. Rice has often been wrongly used as a holding midfielder, now hes being balanced off with Anderson. Its the right approach after decades of imbalanced teams but the question is, even if its balanced, how far can a team go with a number of players that are good but nothing special in it, complimenting the stand out players. Expectations in the past have been built on the idea of all of our stand out players on the pitch at the same time. I do think he needs to get in one of our top class number 10s, probably Bellingham, and get Foden, Palmer and Wharton amongst it fighting for the first 11. Just not all of them playing at the same time.
  16. Best fans in the World Tuchel. It will do you good to remember that.
  17. England are making it look easy. It's a far cry from the 1-0 dirge fest against Andorra. What strikes me about the game, and the Wales one for that matter, is who isn't playing. James, TAA, Livramento, Wharton, Palmer, Bellingham, Foden, and Grealish, aren't even in the squad. Tuchel has some thinking to do.
  18. Yeah agreed. Feels to me though we are a step up from the last euros. Really like what Anderson has brought into central midfield, made a massive difference. Also Tuchel getting the wide players ahead of Kane. It is all working a lot better. But like you say hard to say for sure until you play against someone at your desired level.
  19. It’s really hard to judge against this quality of opposition.
  20. I know its only Latvia but we do look really really good. I want to see us play a genuinely top team - not done that since the euros final, and with the next nationals league not until September 2026 we are only going to get a competitive game against a top nation at the world cup. Annoying.
  21. No, but I was expecting to see the “ something “ that special players can do. Just now and again. I haven’t seen anything yet.
  22. Hes a great lad, but he has been standing still or going backwards for years so a move was the right thing. That said I think we got 1 million for him, and paid 2 million for Tavares. And as far as I can see Tavares is a very similar player to Buckley, but with the same flaws (loose in possession, not physically competitive, doesn't cover enough ground) to a greater degree
  23. Went to Saudi for the "project."
  24. Superb freekick. Glad he's enjoying it. Marking Ronaldo crazy times
  25. Winters forecast to be wetter...sort it out Rovers ffs!
  26. Lads eome specimen. What size is he?
  27. The question is simple. "Which 150 names tell the Rovers story? From 1875 to 2025…" ⚪️🔵 These can be heroes, villains, players, officials, owners, fans. Any person who you feel is integral to Rovers past, present and future - to go onto a DEFINITIVE LIST as chosen by BRFCS Members. For posterity, for lively discussion and debate…& quite possibly…merchandise 😉 There is currently a “shortlist” (!) of 225 names*. The Polls will be split into eight different eras. And will be open from Wednesday to Wednesday for the next eight weeks. Part One: The Foundation Years - 1875-1900 - (15th October - 22nd October) Part Two: 20th Century and Post World War I - 1900-1930 - (22nd October - 29th October) Part Three: Inter War and Post World War II - 1930-1950 (29th October - 5th November) Part Four: The Boomer Generation - 1950 - 1970 (5th November - 12th November) Part Five: The Seventies and Eighties - 1970 - 1992 (12th November - 19th November) Part Six: The Jack Walker Era - 1992 - 2000 (19th November - 26th November) Part Seven: The Walker Trust Era - 2000 - 2012 (26th November - 3rd December) Part Eight: The Venky's Era - 2012 - 2025 (3rd December - 10th December) Your job as a Forum, is to help us whittle down these suggestions by choosing who you think deserves to make our definitive list. You can vote as many times as you like (but we suggest no more than say, 5 votes per list), only the top voted names/figures will make the final cut. *This list has been created by myself and has been corroborated with the help of @Herbie6590 @4,000 Holes @Fred Cumpstey along with several other fans and commentators on and off the message boards. Thanks for all the assistance.
