  1. Past hour
  2. It is close, but if the lino is up with play he would give it.
  3. I take your point on the first season and a half. In theory we should have stayed up after that amount of points but we didn't. He did get promoted the year after but that was the absolute bare minimum. Nobody is comparing him to kean or that other spiv cunt. That's just silly. This club can and should be doing much much better than Tony Mowbray. Just because big Val is shit doesn't make Mowbray good by any standard and that "journalst" calling him legendary is wild. If he's a legend then Don Mackay must be an immortal god among men.
  4. Let's get VAR in to iron our these mistakes...and then fans can moan about VAR 😉
  5. He didnt like asking the owners for money. As I have repeated, annoying but nowhere near the same. And him specifically turning down money in a season when he publically called out the owners for not providing any reinvestment or even allowing him to sell a player and reinvest, makes no sense. I think the more likely reason for that was something we have seen before and after, the owners fucking the manager over. Not them providing unspent and unwanted war chests. Occam's razor.
  6. There's no "burden of proof" on me whatsoever. It's a discussion board not a Court room. I've told you specially why I believe there were funds available (Waggott) and why (imo) Mowbray wouldnt spend them (Didn't want to fail and look bad). If you choose not to believe that that's your prerogative entirely. All you've come up with is "I dont think anyone would do that" when Mowbray has himself admitted he didnt like asking the owners for money.
  7. Yeah no chance, 6 months left of his deal and his club wanted rid.
  8. Oh ye of little faith. A short term deal for a winger who's not fit and has a bad attitude? When would this lot every risk a season spending a good chunk of our money on a player like that?
  9. Tyler Maggiore has signed for Port Vale. Reunited with his old boss from Northampton
  10. But you didn’t mention the advanced data
  11. I think it's been said he did well in the German 2nd division but he's struggled in the top tier.
  12. You weren’t talking John Williams. You were talking someone “slightly resembling competent”. By which point yes there is a chance he would have got here, same as he got to Sunderland, West Brom, Birmingham and Celtic. He wasn’t my choice, but was middle of the road as far as options went. He’s got a win percentage of 40%+ at 7 of his 9 clubs, generally in englands top 2 division. If we get anyone in after Ismael with anywhere near that record i will be gobsmacked. First season he was unlucky. To blame him for relegation and not acknowledge he made a decent fist of turning us around is nothing more than blinkered hatred of the guy. He got a squad that even now looks very limited (albeit better than the current one) running at 1.46 points per game. The same people who say “his job was to keep us up, he failed”, then don’t accept his job second season was to get us up and he succeeded. To Rev’s point, yes we should have won the league and that pissed me off, but that was a secondary target. He achieved his main target quite comfortably, something that not every club that goes down does. After that he started losing it with weird team selections, and many of his comments were stupid. He seemed to not be able to break the death spirals. He certainly should have pushed for more money when we were in the top 6. That wasnt honourable, that was dumb. He should have gone before he eventually did. But criticising him for those first two seasons is just stupid. And frothing at the mouth about him like he is Jerome Anderson or Steve Kean is bizarre.
  13. The burden of proof isnt on me as its you and others that are saying he specifically rejected transfer funds. Every manager is about self preservation. Do you think Tomasson and Eustace did what they did out of loyalty to our fans, or to improve their own careers?
  14. Dapo? where? Are you sure you are not looking at his "market value" on transfermarkt? rather than an actual transfer fee?
  15. Being quoted as 2.5 million quid. Not a snip for 18 months.
  16. So we've signed someone who was very average for Wanderers in League One, who then went to German 2nd tier and couldn't get a game and sounds like issues off the field to boot. He also won't be fit so he won't be able to play immediately and will be injury prone. I've don't know anything about the guy, I've never seen him play, but this sounds like trouble. He needs to hit the ground running and that's not likely. Great.
  17. It's interesting to me how he phrases this. Like there were two binary options - either sit back and accept whatever you're given, or be petulant and rude. There is a third option - present a plan and say "if you give me x amount of money for the budget, I believe I can get us into the top six". That's not being nasty or stamping your feet, it's just being ambitious and believing in yourself in terms of what you can achieve.
  18. Why do you believe everything Mowbray says? Edit: To me he was all about self preservation. Nothing else.
  19. I was fuming travelling down to Charlton (hoping to see us win the L1 Title) when the team news came on and we heard he'd effectively thrown it by resting everyone. Far from the worst thing he did but that sort of summed him up. No ambition for the Club whatsoever.
  20. I didnt doubt that he was dampening expectations. Managers often do. Didnt mean that he turned down big budgets. Again, agree that he should have demanded extra money. Although lets be clear, it shouldnt come down to that. But again, thats not turning down budgets which is what he is accused of. The cryptic chinese whispers you have heard, make no sense. Why would he be so annoyed in the summer when he got no money and in the winter when he couldnt even sell a player to raise money, ie he clearly wanted money, if he also turned down money? It makes absolutely no sense. He is gone and he isnt coming back. He seems to have for some reason dug a really deep scar in you. But lets not indirectly give Venkys credit for offering fictional transfer budgets. And lets not run with myths to bear a grudge.
  21. Nothing, they're as thick as fuck.
  22. Plummeted to second place 🤣🤣🤣
  23. Him and his wife went out with the team to play a local friendly. His wife was stopped at customs sneaking gold back into UK 🤔
