  2. Ismael has got a slight problem on his hands now, as he's already praised the impact of Cantwell and has recently been signing the praises of Mori. He's probably going to have to try and accommodate both of them. If Cantwell is fit to start (don't see why he wouldn't be now), how will he line up so get them both on the pitch? ---------------Pears -----Miller--McLoughlin--Pratt Alebiosu----------------------Ribeiro --------Tronstad---Cantwell ---------------Mori ------Gudjohnsen--Ohashi I think that's what he'll end up doing.
  3. We need a win we need a win if tronstad is back and Cantwell is back we may just get a win!!
  4. I know the club does read this message board and I want to make it very clear, for the £400k a year salary I am happy to be a low responsibility CEO/fall guy
  5. If its the bold option, it would be an early xmas prezzie for us, one less talon on the club
  6. Maybe wishful thinking but I wonder if Suhail has decided he doesn't fancy the limited amount of criticism (or in Club speak "abuse") finally coming his way and has retired hurt back to India? To either direct operations from even further in the background or pursue opportunities elsewhere in the Venky's organisation. Could that explain the renewal of the search for a new "CEO" with no actual authority?
  7. Whatever he does or doesn't get, he obviously doesn't mind. He's been doing it long enough without resigning or speaking out against them at any point.
  8. Yeah, from a Venky's point of view it's a " Look the hierarchy who were here before us approve of us" type thing.
  9. He does seem to have been wheeled out this season in a far more prominent front of house role in his club tie. They must think that adds some kind of sheen of respectability and normality to their dysfunctional set up.
  10. Pretty sure he isn't on the payroll at Rovers, so any perks he gets must be along the lines of comps, a free lunch and the status of being a 'director' although I'm not sure that really carries much prestige or weight in the world these days given the types we've had in the Ewood boardroom in recent years. Does he do anything with the FA anymore? Can't imagine there's that much benefit to being involved there. I'd just imagine/hope that a 70 something year old bloke, closely involved back in the days when we were a respectable and professional club, who surely isn't short of a few quid, would perhaps decide that a comfy seat upstairs isn't worth the hassle and more importantly the support and legitimisation he gives to a regime actively dismantling what was once a proud club People surprise you though.
  11. We dont seem to be able to win games when it really matters under VI. Stretching back to his very first game in charge. I don't expect us to win this either. Might just about come away with a point which won't be good enough in hindsight if our home form doesn't improve.
  12. Yes. Given Cantwell’s history, his injury record with us & our desperation to lower the wage bill, simply moving him on would be seen as a victory by SP & RG I fear. We shouldn’t expect a cash windfall.

  15. I can't disagree, particularly about Miller.

  17. Id imagine maintaining any status he may hold at the FA is his primary motivation. Any freebies lobbed his way will be a nice little bonus. Might even get paid a relatively tidy sum for signing a few docs every year as well. Luvvly Jubbly!
  18. Oh what’s changed over night mate. You were saying a loss yesterday 🤷
  19. Bob Coar running the club? Good heavens. Things are really getting to comedy club status if there's even a shred of truth to that. And if there is any truth to it I find myself asking, for the umpteenth time, what on earth does he get out of this sordid arrangement to make it worth his while covering for, assisting and legitimising this disgraceful regime other than a title and his lunch and drinks paid for every other week? Surely at his age and with his history at the club there's more to life than carrying on with this charade?
  20. 'The former Generation Next Football Club (GNFC) player, together with Bermudian Under-20 international Kennahz Fray, joined the Backburn Rovers Under-21 squad on December 9.'
  21. Says that we also have a Bermudan u20 player on trial - it's all part of linking up with a development program rather than a serious look at the players I'd imagine. That said, does look like he's got a scholarship to play football at a US university and the last player we signed who took that path was Ryan Nelsen. He's also got some (moderately) competitive international experience, world cup qualifying caps vs Cuba and Honduras. Admittedly they lost both of them, but not heavily and I'd imagine that they were fairly hefty underdogs vs Honduras at least. Played CB and LB. Doesn't hurt to have a look.
