The January 2026 Transfer Window
alex l replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Why so intolerant of people who don't share the same view or might agree with the cause but still want to watch the team and support the players? I'm not going but there's no need to hate on those who are, it only serves to create further division. -
I fell in love with Rovers in 1990, aged 9. Coming off the back of that World Cup, with the likes of Roger Miler and Toto Squillaci, I was ready… Born in Bolton, my Dad a Srilankan immigrant was already converted into a Wanderer and took me to games semi regularly. Then around this time he started a new job and had to work weekends leaving me at a loose end and desperate to watch a game. I played for a local team managed by ‘Mr Seed’ who was a Rovers fan and if you got MOM he would take you to the game as a reward. God knows I must have had a purple patch, but either way, I got hooked really quick. I fell in love with Blackburn Rovers and the rest as they say is history. Since this time, I would say I’ve held a season ticket for roughly 30 of the 35yrs. I’ve watched some of the most wonderful players grace Ewood Park but I’m pretty much done, too. For all the reasons stated on this thread and too many more to articulate. The truth is that it’s hope which drives our beautiful game. The hope of every football fan that it could be their year. The working man or woman’s escape from reality. That hope, that connection is almost gone now. It’s a flicker and I can’t bear to go anymore. I still love the club I remember, the club I was proud of but feel nothing for the one before me. Something akin to a victim of domestic violence, where I imagine you become numb to the pain. As painful as it sounds, I don’t want my children to experience this. My 9yr old daughter is just falling in love with football, and my boy is 4. I could take them to watch any team in the land and that’s where my head is at. I don’t want them to feel like this, so I’ve stopped going. I won’t be renewing and I just pray for the day Venkys leave. Such a shame.

Given Ismael openly told attendees of the “business club” night this week that they had purposely withheld “budget” in case the foreign recruits needed help come January, but that budget has been reallocated to a new pitch, I don’t expect to see any credible signings. -
We're merging topics again folks 🙏
-
Their wealth should be an asset, instead it's the problem, unlike other owners who were/are losing money, they don't need to sell.
-
Exactly this, it really hits you when ‘but Rovers are at home?’ doesn't matter any more.
-
Is this thread not local newsworthy? Can it be covered in the telegraph? We need to get the word out to all generations about the current fan sentiment and the boycott so that all know it's happening.

There's no point repeatedly mentioning these deadlines. Firstly, they were never deadlines, just times Val would like to have players in by. Secondly, we all knew it wouldn't happen, including yourself. -
There's only one way to find out.

We're putting a tit against the Trotters? Sounds like bestiality.

Time is ticking to get all the players in for the deadline already pushed back by a week. Regarding Mumba, his name has repeatedly been suggested over a number of years. Im not convinced firstly what his best position is, and also that he would be a particularly good signing. - Yesterday

Not when you're only willing to reinvest 10% of the Gueye fee and maybe half his wages it doesn't. -
Boycott Or Not?

What was Jack Walker's moto? "THINK BIG" If we all think it is too hard, nothing will work etc, then it won't. I would rather try and fail than not bother. -
The reported turnover of VH group is around 100 million not 1 billion, the main listed entity 'Venkys Ltd' which flashes around our stadium made a profit of around 6.5 million so the money needed for Rovers is hardly insignificant in yearly turnover terms. Although probably doesn't make a dent in the families overall wealth.

The last quarter results showed the chicken business was losing money hand over fist

That’s only true if you have the belief the boycott will make a difference. It didn’t work 10+ years ago, so why would this time be any different? I agree about season ticket sales but like everything else at the moment at the club, it’ll just be kicked down the road until it happens.
-
If we did get back to the Premier League, they can walk away and claim their tenure was a success, claim the Premier League money to pay off debts to them and then sell up in the belief that more people will be willing to buy a Premier League team. I don’t think the “legal “issues”” will make any difference to them owning us, at the moment it’s only a civil case and not a legal case. As far as their business collapsing, the VH group had an annual turnover last year over a billion pounds, so the money they put into “this pointless project” is insignificant in their company.
-
He cares about the revenue that they bring in, especially from season tickets. There's absolutely no excuse to not join in and try to do something to force them out. Refusal to participate helps venkys.

I wish Dunn FC i think it was hadn't got themselves banned off here he or she certainly had their finger on the pulse with V's background activities. -
That’s relying on believing that Pasha actually cares about the fans, which recent actions suggest he doesn’t. The owners will probably not have an interest or even see what the actual crowd will be. As far next season’s season ticket sales, Pasha will be keeping his fingers crossed that the boycotts peter out, like they’ve done before.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
But if he completes a certain number of mins there and a certain set of stats he might actually plunder a goal. Then his value to be sold back abroad has increased which is all these clowns are really bothered about.
