There is clearly no money. Season ticket sales are pathetic, the sponsorship money is miniscule and we aren't allowed to player trade (all the cash goes into running the club rather than being used to acquire new assets to perpetuate the cycle - y'know, short-term, short-sighted thinking). We're in massive, massive financial trouble, with the few remaining assets sold to keep the lights on - because our benevolent owners refuse to loosen the death grip they have on the club.

They’ve taken an enormous amount of flak after pulling the rug under JDT, letting Eustace leave for relegation threatened Derby and refusing to fund the women’s team. That’s all in a short time period in recent history as well. If they were trying to save face JDT would have been backed with a decent budget and the ladies would have got the required funding.
