The January 2026 Transfer Window
Ricky replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It could be wrong but it also could be VI not wanting to share that info in the window, as Mercer touched upon. If every club knows we need a striker then we will have our pants pulled down on fees. -

As others have already pointed out - the "seasonal slump" started in August this season. Will we notice a difference? -
Time mate?

Ohashi at most other Championship clubs would've been signed as a bench filler and impact sub. He seemed absolutely perfect for the role of coming on and using all that energy against tired defenders - The lovely dink on his debut against Derby and the last minute equaliser against Norwich spring to mind. Unfortunately for Rovers, their recruitment has been so awful that he's ended up leading the line pretty much ever since Ismael came in, which is just not what he's built for, and he looks absolutely shattered for it too, which I imagine plays a part in why he also appears absolutely useless these days...goal away at Portsmouth aside. I love the guy for his energy, but as soon as Gudjohnsen is back Ohashi needs to spend a few weeks on the bench.

Give it a rest for heaven's sake. -
One interesting snippet from that article was that Sohail apparently sat a football management course in Manchester within the last year or two. If that is true then it demonstrates what we are dealing with here. Both he and Rudy learning on the job, zero experience or background and we are paying the price for it, all with the approval of our wonderful benefactors in India.

Indeed! It happens - past, present and no doubt the future. -
Powell is the obvious pick there

100% Slippery ground legally and can easily be used against the cause by the club. The drip feeding of this information is also incredibly annoying. We’ve waited long enough.

A slump from current form would be losing 5-0 instead of 2-0. -
You did it when it wasn’t a crime, but now expect others to break the law on your behalf.

Thank god the rumour was false as that would have been yet another nail in the coffin. It does feel like a case of self preservation rushing everyone back. Ismael also mentioned "hopefully" having a striker by next week and a total of 8 bodies on top of what we had midweek. Surely we arent thick enough to not bother with a left wing back. - Today

Just a further thought on Gudjohnsen. Ismael has been hammering on about how many injured and how desperate we are to get players back - won't have gone unnoticed in football circles. If a key player suffers a longer term injury just a week or so before the window closes and you need to replace, you wouldn't want the football world to know as asking prices for potential replacements would rocket. Think we should know soon if Rovers playing 'a straight bat'. -
The call to arms last season was nothing whatsoever to do with the Club being so badly run we witnessed the man who got us into 7th walk out to join a Club in the relegation zone of course!

Boycott Or Not?

Agreed, talk about crack over any context whatsoever from the fans who have watched this steady decline. Propaganda rubbish! -
I always find it amazing how they always manage to get facts wrong, isn’t checking the facts and proof reading part of the gig ! Suhail turned up in 2024, no he didn’t ! He’s been here and instrumental in their dereliction of duty, since the day that they first darkened our door some 15 years ago.

People invading pitches in the 70s and 80s, when the worst that would happen was a clip round the ear from a copper, is not the same as invading the pitch in 2026 where there is CCTV everywhere, people recording everything on social media and a very different cultural and judicial view of that sort of behaviour. I don't think many people fancy losing their jobs and/or being publicly humiliated, just to stick it to the Venkys. People say "well if loads of people do it, it will be fine, no one will get pinched/done". Alright, you guys on first then. I won't be breaking the law and losing my job over the arseholes running the football club, if that makes me soft or a coward, whatever.

Possibly not, but pitch invasion, maybe stopping the game, the international media would sit up and take notice

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
StHelensRover replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We were lucky to witness an era where big clubs like Arsenal were wary of coming to Ewood Park and knew they'd get a game. Edit - having said that, across the long history of the club, we've spent a very long time in the same league as Arsenal, Venkys have ensured we've only played them once in 14 years. If Arsenal turned up next week we'd need to extend the scoreboard.
