I think he was billed as a star player but didn't live up to the hype the first American we had wasn't he?

Embarrassing. And in one place I saw this posted, somebody replied with photos of 'Portsmouth' being spelled incorrectly on two separate occasions too. -

Fair enough. 👍 Great player, was excited when we signed him, didnt have quite the impact at Ewood we'd have hoped for me. -
Am I missing something? Since when have derby been our rivals, derby couldn’t care less about us, so embarrassing I reckon Rudy, pasha and v*nkys must be laughing their heads off

Yeah, agree with this. The 3412 works well because our main asset is the athleticism of the wing backs. But its very dependent on Alebiousu and De Neve staying fit, as well as 3 of our 4 centre backs, and as you say we only have two strikers the manager wants to play and we are playing both of them. But to be honest with one up top we really struggle as we just don't have the quality so this feels the way we need to persevere with. -
The one thing that is certain is that the Derby match is the designated 150th anniversary match for our club. The best protest that we could make against the 15 year Venky period is to pack Ewood Park for the fixture. Let’s show that our club still matters, that we are proud of 135 years of its history and that the club is in our blood, notwithstanding that thousands of fans are boycotting or laying dormant or have just given up after a 15 year struggle. That is my dearest hope but having just looked at available tickets, it looks like this anniversary will be largely ignored by the missing thousands and that will be a great shame and an opportunity missed to show the potential of this once great club. It is just one game, why can’t the NAPM and the missing thousands turn up to show solidarity and pride in the glorious history of our club. If they did, that would deliver the biggest and loudest message to the Venkys, ‘this is our club and we want you gone’.

Along the same lines as Big Sam preferring a corner to a shot from 25 yards - statistically corners are the better option but in the championship with bog average keepers i do wonder (not least as we are shit from corners...) -
I personally think it would be mad to drop Ohashi - he is the heart beat of everything up front. I'd start the same team as the last game. I think doing the same thing with Henricksson and Montgomery coming on for the last 30 mins is a good plan to persevere with as they offer the energy we need to see out games. Striker options are a real problem. Ismael needs to do something with Gueye - he can't just freeze him out when we have no one else. We need an alternative - Ohashi and Andri worked ceaselessly against Southampton but they will get injured if we ask them to do that every game for a full 90. Only other place to look is Tyjon who has barely made the bench. If Gueye is totally discounted by the manager then we need to see what he can offer.

Sheff Weds was a splintered fan base, make no mistake about that. The ousting has been swift compared to us, but when push came to shove, more fell on the Chansiri out side. Good luck to them. -

And it was all so predictable and avoidable if there was any brains inside there that finally wise up to how serious this issue is becoming. 'Oh they'll all come back when we start winning' 'Oh we wouldn't sell 20k if it was £150 etc etc so there is no point' Lame ignorant excuses. - Today

This thought had also crossed my mind. The only proviso I would make is that there is only so much advice you can pass on. At the end of the day being a natural goal scorer is imo a God given talent, you either have it like a Greaves, Owen, Fowler etc or you don't. Some basic stuff would help though, you need a genuine desire to frequently get into the areas from which you're more likely to score (a lot of modern day tactics go against this). The second thing is Alan Shearer used to admit he'd always take a swing from anywhere, you never know if the ball will go through a defender's legs or catch the keeper unawares etc. Most modern players won't shoot , it's almost like they're scared to risk "turning over possion" and are only happy to score the perfect goal from two yards out after a great team move. -

Ohashi absolutely doesn't deserve to start. He's missed so many chances this season, he's fluffed so many golden opportunities, just not up to it. Give Gueye a go with Gudjohnsen and use Ohashi as an impact sub. No good giving Gueye 4 minutes off the bench then ripping him a new one. A run of games is what he needs, massively positive character and has a bit of a relationship with the fans
